Shoguns are horribly broke IMO. I can't use them AT ALL. The only one that is half decent for me is the SPAS, even then I only have 15 kills on it

Oh definitely - don't know how many times a point blank shot has missed

but nothing is more fun that having someone on a quad race towards you only for you to shoot his face off with a Neo2000 :smug:

Xbox 360 leads the BC2 stat wars (between PS3 & Xbox 360)

Players need to be spotting more in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. So show stats DICE has gathered from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the shooter.

On both consoles, spotting is dead last on the list of activities (detailed below) otherwise dominated by resupplies, repairs and revives. Leading them all however, naturally, are kills; 1,398,249,600 for the PS3 version, 1,937,940,576 for the Xbox 360.

NOT enough spotters my friends :(

Do not have a problem with the medics, but carl gustov.... I am tired of getting randomly blown up by those.

Oh how much I can relate with you. It's annoying! I try to get someone from behind, he jumps and turns by 180?.... well next thing is I have a CG in my face :shiftyninja:

Indeed. I actually thought that DICE did a good job of rewarding people for spotting (with the assist points), but apparently it wasn't enough to encourage consideration for one's fellow teammates. I guess public servers will be public servers...

Although it's funny to note that the PS3 players spot more frequently than 360 players. One spot every 0.55 hours for the 360 and one spot every 0.61 hours for the PS3. Completely useless trivia, I know :).

Can say that again. I was on a noob server last night, just playing my normal rambo medic. And I was one of two people (out of a team of twelve) that would spot. It was pretty hilarious to see myself light up a group of baddies, and every noob run towards them guns blazing. Muppets

Is it the same button on the PS3?

IMO, spotting can make or break your game. It could be what gets you to win more often than not. At least that is my experience.

Not too sure about the spotting buttons on the consoles. I've been playing on the PC exclusively. Speaking of which, I'd be curious to see the stats for the PC. People always assume that PC gamers are more civil and more mindful toward their peers. I wonder if it's really true :).

And I did notice that my win/loss ratio improved once I started spotting and going for assists more often. My record is still bad, but now it's not as bad.

Found my new ###### gun. The Saiga. Im loving it, the original plan was to just get bronze, and go back to my trusty AN-94. But I was racking up the kills, and so easily too. Before I knew it I had my 1 gold star on it, in one session! And to give you some idea how much I love this gun. I just got my 500 kills with shotgun award, bear in mind that I only started to use shotguns yesterday, and also that I dont have 500 kills with sniper rifles award yet (which also tells you I hate that class with a passion)!

I sense good times ahead! Now where's that patch?!

Me, I'm going for all gold stars :p Difficult with ****ty weapons! :s
Good luck with the F2000. It's hard, very hard, nothing more than a sharp stick.

The saiga is a good shot gun, I choose to be a recon using motion mines and I just rush or flank people with the saiga. Run and gun combo :D

And I lob C4's at enemies I see on the map, especially at choke points. I got my platinum C4 so fast before I knew it and I wasn't using it that much on vehicles either.

But it's a bloody fun gun, kinda like MG3. Sure, it's quite awful but that just makes kills oh so much more rewarding. :D

Personally I don't think I'll torture myself to get gold with it though.

edit

you using saiga with slugs or not?

    • I'd say the first one failed to be as popular as Apple anticipated, but the easy adjustment here is to make fewer of them next time around. It would only be a "flop" if it isn't possible for Apple to recover the design and factory tooling costs given the number of units sold, which I doubt would be the case. It isn't like no one bought them; it just failed to become the new hot phone of the year.
    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.
