Thx guys.

About the browsing experience, its is perfect without laggy/jerky effects. You (may) notice some lag with lots of images and if you try to scroll full speed, the first time only. But who does that while browsing ?

It renders pages almost as fast as my desktop.. :)

I am uploading a video to Youtube with some browsing testing. I'll post here once it's done.

I want one, things stopping me so far are the cost and the fact I would need to repurchase my Co-Pilot licence. All together I would be looking at around ?400, currently can get ?140 for recycling my Touch HD so it's certainly tempting.

I wanted a Nexus One so bad.....but unfortunately no Operator got them.

here somethin interesting i found out.

When you click and hold at the end of a text block it will automatically select it and a popup box will open with 3 choices

post-72040-12716922996881.jpg

1. copy to clipboard

2. Search: Wikipedia or Translate or Dictionary

3. Share: Friend Stream or Mail or Message or Twiter

If you click and hold in the middle of the text bock or a specific word it will open a zoom box with the words you are selecting.

I see me!

I want this phone so much at the moment :-/ don't know whether to just pick it up on a 24 month deal and suck up the ?450 cost over 2 years and not actually use the SIM itself.

^ yeah i know the problem there.

I've been holding myself to the end of my contract so i could get a good price for the renewing. This time i opted to pay a bit more and make a shorter contract, 12 months now (24 before).

For me the good part is that now i have 2 contracts like this, the other one belong to my wife but since she doesnt care about cellphones, each year i get me a new phone and give her my old one.

Can you run that multitouch tester and see whether it suffers from the same problem as the nexus one?

Yes, i checked that software and it reproduces the same "problem" as the video Motorola Droid vs Nexus One: Multitouch Test.

Maybe this could affect some specific application but i haven't noticed any glitch while using the multi-touch screen in normal usage.

edit here:

i did a short video with some multi-touch gestures and that software so you can see by yourself.

indeed, it's odd.

i'll post as soon as i finish the upload to YT.

Great review - thanks for sharing.

Finally got my order in for one of these after a month of being messed around by T-Mobile and then waiting on stock with Vodafone. A friend beat me to it in the mean time.. but I tried his out and just can't believe how good it is. Looks as though it's going to walk all over my iPhone in most areas (except battery life) so can't wait to get it :)

Thx....:)

Ok here it goes the video with the multi-touch run.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhBRMaUn6Ig

One thing i can assure, i haven't felt any troube while using the phone and its functions so far.....i have never realized this "glitch" with the multi-touch input till i used that app to check.

But you can see that in the multi-touch paint it gets weird, i believe if there is a game that requires multiple inputs it may cause some odd effects.

I am very satisfied with the device so far.

For the battery i can't vouch for that, still need a couple of days to get a real feedback. It seems it will need almost a week till the battery is at its full capacity.

    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
    • So we shouldn't have the option because of people using their laptops on battery? OK? LOL
