Thanky buddy, I got it all planned for tomorrow, unrevoked, then MoDaCo :)

edit: What's this about formatting the memory stick correctly for A2SD+ though?

You need to put the EXT partition at the end of the card, the Desire can't read EXT4 either so it has to be EXT3 but if you have a Class 6 card, it's just as fast as running apps from internal memory :D

I also use AmonRA R5 as well, it can fix permissions and fix the filesystem permissions on the AppsToSD partition which Clockwork cannot yet

The Desire CAN read and write EXT4 partitions, who said it doesn't? It's the ROM you choose which needs to have EXT4 support, most (if not all) do. Leedroid is all I know of that does not.

I've been using EXT4 for ages.

Clockwork mod had trouble backing up and restoring EXT4 though so another reason to use AmonRA.

Ooh, an HTC Desire thread. What a lovely phone it is. So happy I got it a few weeks ago (luckily the store had just got some in), though Vodafone's 2.2 update almost ruined it for me - some issue with Sense crashing on startup - couldn't get to the settings to clear the problematic data. Decided to factory reset it, and set everything up again, what a dream. I'd probably be more annoyed if everything important wasn't basically in the cloud.

Noticed today I have an SLCD version instead of AMOLED (which my housemate has). No complaints though.

I'm using OpenDesire but I'm a bit peeved that the developer is thinking of changing the launcher to the Samsung version, and I like my Android to be as stocked as possible, similar to what I drive to work :p . That said, I'm close to cleening up the ROM I'm flashing to my phone, with all the icons replaced and hopefully a new framework (though that it still far away from reality).

I love my Desire :wub: !

I've thought about using OpenDesire but never really wanted to flash it. And now that he is thinking about using the ****ty Samsung version, I really don't care for it.

I'd much rather cook my own ROM or use something like LeeDroid.

I looked into rooting, but it apparently seemed pretty tricky for 2.2? Any noob guides?

I'd rather much like to run the Vanilla OS, I cba with custom roms.

It's actually VERY simple.

http://www.unrevoked.com/ is pretty pain free, easier on Linux but not too hard on Windows.

As for a Vanilla 2.2 ROM i'm using OpenDesire nice plain ROM that allows some pretty good overclocking too via SetCPU :)

Agree with you there Singh and really hope he doesn't got the way of porting the Galaxy S to it, or if he does, release it as a seperate ROM.

I seen you in the OpenDesire topic ;) I'm going with MoDaCo though to keep the Sense UI and I used the 'cooker' as the author calls it to customize my rom myself.

      Here's a good laugh for you then. My brother, his girl friend and my son all have the Galaxy A15 5g and they are working absolutely great. My wife and I both have the A16 and they are working great also. Maybe you are laughing at the specs, but for under $100 I would hope you aren't expecting much.

      We need a game update frequency setting. * Right now your recent games will be auto updated overnight, and your unrecent games won't be updated. The bifurcation of recent and unrecent is fine, but we should be able to control the update frequency for both, with any of the following options: 1. Don't auto update 2. Auto update weekly 3. Auto update immediately (push) i.e. When I'm playing a lot, I want my recently played games to have push updates, so if a dev releases an update at 4pm, it's already downloaded on my Xbox by the time I get home. The current overnight cadence leaves a lot of wasted time waiting for updates on slow connections. My infrequently played games in ok with deferring to overnight, or maybe weekly, but let the users control their frequency. Basing it on data and last played sounds smart but ignores the human reality that often when I'm busiest and have the least time for games is when it sucks the most to come home and find a huge update list waiting for you.
