Tekkerson Posted May 20, 2010 Share Posted May 20, 2010 I was looking into buying a new camcorder I saw this at a sony store and I was amazed at how awesome the video looked. HDR-XR550V So far what I heard from some reviews from that camera is that it was really 1080i and only 24p. I'm not sure what the 24p means but I'm guessing they meant 24 fps? Anyway, I know about video quality formats and such but I'm a newbie when it comes to cameras, lenses and other specs so I would like an opinion if it's even worth buying that or if there's something better. If you'd like to suggest something else these are my requirements: 1.)True 1080p 2.)Option for maximum bit-rate recording. 3.)Exchangeable external recording such as an HDD. This camera is a present for my mom because I'm sick and tired of her recording in a CCD-TRV308 camcorder that is ancient and is a disgrace to our 1080P LED HDTV =( So infuriating! Which is why I want to get her something really good.
