If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings will be determined as follows:

d) greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned;

e) goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned;

f) greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams concerned;

g) drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee.

I guess not.

But in the match I was watching Algeria played hard the entire 90 minutes and disrupted the English enough to pull the draw. I thought it was fun, specially the last 1/3 of the match.

Well I would not of said it was fast paced and Intense.

I would of said it was slow, boring and lacked enthusiasm from both teams. [Algeria might of had more possession but they did not have any great chances on goal]

if england beat slovenia and usa beat algeria then it depends on GD.. but if England lose to slovenia and USA beat algeria then its USA and Slovenia :p

If both England and the US win their next games, both go through. GD will only decide 1st and 2nd.

As an English guy, I want England to go through to the next round. As a football fan, I hope they go home. Awful, awful play so far from them from the the first two games.

I feel sorry for those Norwegian guys that have gone all the way to South Africa to support England.

My ignorance about the sport must be showing then. I thought the English played like crap, lacked coordination and communication. Algeria did not have many chances on goal BUT they played very hard the entire game and their defense play to me was very nice. It wasn't the greatest match of the tournament but I found it entertaining.

I must admit I laughed out loud at this after the match.

Interviewer to Steven Gerrard: What was missing tonight?

Steven Gerrard: Goals.

Me too :laugh:

What a diabolical match (N)

I saw Algeria pushing hard 1st half, some decent chances and England was mostly frantically clearing away.

Mate I feel you disappointment, how could they play so terribly, the amount of dosh each player gets and in return they give **** all.

Shambles of a match. ?These players have played in major competitions before. ?What is different?? What has changed? ?This is a lot worse than the USA match, at least England had chances in the box and were zipping the ball about. ?Didn't even have that today.

it's nothing new though, every year since 1966 , england "always has the best team yet". I think even France played a little bit better

But to be honest, on paper, we actually do IMO. They're just being put in bad positions and therefore play badly.

Well the French have had a bad tournament but they have an easy fix - Send in Arsenal instead :p. England... Well I don't know what to say, back home everything is World Cup and if England don't make it atleast to the next round a lot of people are going to be dissappointed and fingers will be pointing.

But having said this Algeria played well, maybe England underestimated them, should calm down on the English Pride a little and find some Humble from somewhere.
