Sethos has BIG love for GT5 so nope I don't think that there was any sarcasm in his post :)

Indeed, I always loved the Gran Turismo series - I did start out with a negative view on the game, especially after the prologue but that last time-trial demo showed me, they really had

improved handling tenfold and the game is shaping up to be a massive Game of the Year contender.

Agreed. They seem to have completely lost the core concept of their own series. They said last year this game was completely ready to come out, yet they keep adding stuff. Just release the damn game

Everyone moaning about the go kart and trackeditor should stop complaining its not what delayed the release(by much anyway), some bugs, 3D support(a little) and the massive 1000+ cars is what delayed it. while they graphics designers were working away making the cars the programmers COULD have sat back and done nothing and just said our work is done! And for the last 2 years (minus a few bugs and the 3D which takes no time to add at all) chilled out. soit would delay release barely at all and if they didnt include everything including the kitchen sink after all this time you guys would be moaning what did they do in all that time!! it amazes me how a company can do something right for a change such as telling the programmers to get off there backside and do more while they wait for all the cars to be finish and people moan about it!!

look at it this way i can be 99.9% curtain when i say 3D,trackeditor, go-karts all together probably added maybe 4 months maximum to the project more like 1 or 2 months if you ask me all these features are being added while they wait for all the cars, tracks and graphical content to be made why waste that time telling programmers to sit on there backside and wait encase some gamers complain about a features they dont like which as we all know you can just NOT use.

as for those who say they lost there way added features outside scope of the game...not really its a racing simulator go-karting=racing, tracks to race on (homemade or not)=racing, 3D=racing more realistically so please where did the "REAL racing simulator" go off scope???? and the reason they went off there usual setup is a) why waste time as i said before may as well use time to add more. and b) gran turismo has always added more than was needed look at licence test in gt titles and secondhand cars first game to do a decent modding engine setup (fell behind alot since mind) all they are doing is adding more with the power the PS3 gives them.i do think the release is way overdue and should have been last year at the latest but if they are delayed because of wanting more cars and a bug or two why not make it up to us by doing something productive with the team who are idle like i dunno say add a track editor or go-karting maybe!!

be god damn greatful they didnt do what all the money grabbing titles are doing atm which is add items or features but only if you "pay for the DLC" no doubt it will come but most likely only the cars and tracks which is anoying but not as back as charging for different game modes and features like some games do!!

It just seems to me that each time the game comes close to being released they announce it has some new feature that will set it back a few more months. Night Driving, Vehicle Damage, 1000 Cars, Track Editor, Go-Karts, Changing Weather, Top-Gear test Track.

Ya know what I mean? I've been following the release of GT5 on-and-off since Prologue released and I think they are simply dreaming to big with this and need to get it out of the door. They can release updates later over the internet or release another GT6 a year later etc

the only question is, what year? :p

Seriously, go-karts? I know ragging on a product for including things is a bit questionable, but I think their project requirements have completely gone out of the window. They haven't got a clue about what they should, and what they should not include, they're sticking everything including the kitchen sink in this, which is nice, but you know, it's meant to be a racing game, and they're kind of going outside the scope of that. And it has for sure affected release dates.

Ah but you see it isn't! GT is NOT a racing simulator but a DRIVING simulator, so adding go karts make perfect sense to me. The game is interactive museum/tribute to all things that can be driven and the thrill of driving, always has been and always will be.

So you're saying the programmers are wiaiting for the graphics designers to catch up. And they are doing this by making new vehicles. Do you realise just how backwards that logic is? There's a couple of things wrong with that statement: 1: I know how games are made because my brother makes them. The graphics are actually usually the first thing done. The reason so many games are buggy is because the programmers are the ones pressed for time. 2: Introducing more vehicles is just adding work for the graphics designers. Once the programmers make the basic engine to the game, programming in new vehicles takes only a couple of minutes, while the graphics certainly won't. Perhaps it's the graphic artists they are trying to keep busy? I don't know.

What you seem to forget is that Gran Turismo from the start was supposed to be a DRIVING simulator, not a racing simulator. It's whole essence was to make a game that made it feel like you were driving the real car. Yes, it's always been centered around racing, but that's because just driving around would be boring. Still, there is that distinction, which is very important. What they used to do was spend a lot of time driving the vehicles to get a good feeling of them. Do you really think they are doing that with all the extras they are adding now? I don't. I also believe that if they are just haphazzardly adding in these extras, they might not have done the good job they always have with the primary cars in making them drive like the real thing. Also, as Vice said, every time the release date starts getting close, they announce some new feature they simply must have and push the date back a few months. They should just release the game and start work on the next one. They could have released 2 great games in this time frame.

the lighting in the game is second to none...

You don't say, photomode at 18 mega pixels is going to cause ridiculous boners between car enthusiasts.

And create a lot of nice Windows desktop wallpapers for that matter.

    • Dude, it's a .reg away from a permanent modification. If you're a power user, look it up and keep the .reg and stop being a crybaby expecting MS to include customization for everything on a generalist OS. The default is what's the best UX for the majority of the userbase, non techie people.

    • Studio MDHR reveals Cuphead sequel and an 8-bit platformer spin-off by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Studio MDHR has been rather silent about its next major gaming project since the release of Cuphead back in 2017. However, that ended today during the Summer Game Fest presentation, with the studio revealing not one but two project announcements. First, the studio confirmed that it is currently in the middle of developing a brand-new Cuphead game, bringing back the iconic characters for another adventure. Just like the last game, this is slated to be a fully hand-animated endeavor. This also means there isn't a release date attached to it yet. “Craftsmanship is at the heart of everything we do here at Studio MDHR,” says co-founder Chad Moldenhauer. “When it came time to peel back the curtain and share a little bit about what we’ve been up to, we couldn’t imagine a more fun way to do so than with today’s Special Bulletin. The studio is working on this new Cuphead with help from Toronto’s Stop Motion Department and Continue Agency. At the same time, Studio MDHR also revealed that another part of the team has been working on a different Cuphead installment. Dubbed the Mighty Cuphead Adventure, this is taking a different art direction to the original. "In true Studio MDHR fashion, this game goes beyond just taking inspiration from the classics of the 1980s… it is actually built with technology of the era," the studio explained. "That's right: Mighty Cuphead Adventure is programmed in assembly language and designed with the exacting specifications of the Sega Master System home gaming console in mind." Aside from releasing on PC and modern consoles, Mighty Cuphead Adventure will even be playable on the 1985-released Sega Master System. A release date has not been announced just yet.
    • Any decent ITSM will A) have a web form that allows a user to raise a ticket, if you're writing an email you can write a ticket. B) Monitor a mailbox and auto-generate tickets based on inbound mails for those users that really can't get their heads around the concept that if you have an issue you go to support.mycompany.com and fill in the box. From your description you're having users email the desk, and then having a human read each one and manually raise a ticket on behalf of the user.
