Release confirmed

It’s about time! After more than enough debate, rumour and speculation, it’s finally here.

Sony has now confirmed that the new release date for Gran Turismo 5 is November 24th. Since the delay Sony has certainly benefited from the huge amount of coverage for the highly anticipated racer, but now with just two weeks to go until it’s release, expect Gran Turismo 5 everything to be on you like a rash.

The wait is finally over. After a last minute delay on the game which was first shown way back in 2005, fans of Sony’s most successful franchise began to despair that the title would slip further and further down the calendar and into next year. However, Sony has announced an official release date for Gran Turismo 5, and its going to hit this year.

Sony have revealed the release date of the highly anticipated racing sim – Wednesday, November 24th. Coming out just in time for Christmas, as well as Black Friday in the States, the game is set to break all PlayStation 3 exclusive games’ sales records.

Will you be getting GT5? Let us know in the comments below.

Well they don't have much time to get that fixed Munky wink.gif

Think I will be booking the day off for this one :) Sadly can't see supermarkets doing anything with it, as there is no real competition across platforms.

Definitely confirmed now from PS EU Blog.

Good Afternoon Everybody

?Chotto Matte? is a Japanese expression for ?wait a little? and it?s a phrase that we have had to express a few times in relation to Gran Turismo over the last few weeks. Well Gran Turismo fans, the waiting is almost over and we are very thankful for your patience.

Today I am delighted to confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will be released in the PAL markets on Wednesday 24th November.

Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of Gran Turismo shared the following thoughts on what has been an epic and challenging development process.

?Gran Turismo 5 is an ambitious project, with challenges and complexities which have made it our version of the Apollo Space Programme! When we created the original Gran Turismo back in 1997, we wanted to set a completely new precedent for the racing genre. With the technological leap onto PlayStation 3, our objective with GT5 was to create another great revolution which would not only satisfy our own high expectations, but would meet or even exceed the anticipation of the fans. Satisfying the loyal Gran Turismo followers is at the heart of all of our efforts, which is why it was such a difficult decision to delay the release of the game, and one which we did not take lightly. I can only apologise to everyone for making you wait so long, and I hope that when you try out the wealth of driving experiences available in Gran Turismo 5, you will not be disappointed.?

Alongside today?s confirmation of the date (finally)? I can also share with you the full car and track list. Check out PlayStation.com shortly. Amongst the car list you will see some exhilarating debutants to the GT virtual garage including the Bugatti and Lamborghini, whilst amongst the tracks you will see some familiar favourites including the Mazda Laguna Seca track, and Trial Mountain alongside new tracks such as the Madrid city track and Cape Ring.

Check out below a trailer that celebrates one of the features that we hope will make your GT experience that little bit more engrossing ? a virtual garage of over 1000 cars!

November 24th is sooner than I expected. I thought it would get pushed into December for sure.

In any event, I'm glad that the wait is almost over. I was contemplating getting Black Ops and/or Hot Pursuit, but now I may as well just wait for this. It's going to feel so weird finally getting to play this game after all of the drama :).

So that is 98 tracks on 27 courses. On average, that is 3.62 "variations/cut outs/mirrors/weather/shortened versions" for each course.

Yeah I'm debating, Signature available at Game, not aware of any stores that will be stocking the Collectors edition though.

In-store I have only seen Game advertise it, however Gamestation have it advertised on their website. Gameplay have it for ?149.99. Really unsure as ?149.99 is a lot to spend!

Yeah the main draw for me is the 200 page book that you get in the Collectors anyway. Still debating this :( My birthday on the Friday too! :)

    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
    • Yeah, all web browsers seem to have some junk in them these days. The regular Brave browser has a lot of unnecessary stuff in it, similar to Microsoft Edge, so I don't see any benefits of using Brave over Microsoft Edge if you already have Microsoft Edge fully set up with adblockers and that. The cleanest or best free browser outside of 'Microsoft Edge' I’ve tried so far is 'Opera Air'. It still has some bloat, but nowhere near as much as Brave browser, for example. I also really like the web browser called 'Floorp' that is based on Firefox. I have a system wide Adblocking program for Windows 11 that doesn't just blocks ads in the the web browser, but over the whole thing. I don't really need a web browser with an inbuilt adblocker because of that.
    • I have been using Firefox for years.
    • I'd trust open source stuff on github more then closed source binaries from Microsoft.
