I'm kinda saddened that he got it wrong, I'm pretty sure last year someone said they would eat their hat if Boz was right, and damn, I wanted to see someone eat a hat!

Haha!

The only problem for me now is the ?150 set aside for the beginning of the month isn't there any more.

Might need to drop from the sig edition to collectors, we'll see.

Either way the release being kept quiet until the game was shipped was a good idea to keep the naysayers quiet this time around :p

I've got ?3 to go towards GT5 at this moment in time, so yea, unlucky you for possibly not having the most expensive one. :p

Might have to trade in some games at this point, which I'm never a fan of, but I can always buy them off eBay in 7 years for ?4 with P&P, lol.

Meh, no Australian release date...as usual we get screwed over :( any money says Australia has to wait to March '11 (yes I know it's been officially announced but for NA, JP and EU only). Not happy...

EDIT: Glad to see the two Holdens made it into the game (VY SS Commodore and Monaro CV8) however, a bit bummed the two Falcons didn't make the cut (FPV GT and FPV F6 Typhoon)...so much for the rumor there were going to be more Aussie cars this time around. They didn't even include the VE Commodore (in either it's Holden, HSV or Pontiac guises). All that said there is still hope Polyphony may add them later as DLC cars (I hope), just a little disappointed there are less Aussie cars in GT5 and the ones that did make it were ported from GT4. I guess most people won't care :p but perhaps some fellow Aussies also feel my pain? maybe? oh and they are all "Standard" models too...so no cockpit view either.

Thanks! it's better then the March '11 date I was predicting, but still sucks they are making us wait longer....

EDIT: Still, we are getting it before the UK (they have to wait till the 3rd December! :p) so we aren't totally last

Hello Gadbury – The UK date will be Wednesday 24th November, not long now…

we are getting it 24th of November :p

EDIT2: I did some more digging, the December dates aren't even for GT5!! UK is getting GT5 Nov 24th as previous stated and Australia's release date is currently TBC. The game has been classified by the OFLC, so just a matter of Sony Australia announcing an Australian street date.

Thanksgiving weekend is going to be amazing. Four days of nothing but food and GT5! (Y)

confirmed on US blog too:

Checks mailbox.....nothing.

1031 Cars Confirmed. List here:

(take out duplicates and it's 31 cars) :) j/k

Nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah... say hey hey.. gooooooooooooooooodbye hater!

Ok current rumors have Australia's release date as November 25th*. We should get an official announcement from Sony Australia on Monday I'd say.

* The official release date for GT5 in Australia is still TBC at the moment.

Really? You thought that Boz, who predicted the BluRay's demise by the hand of HDDVD, was going to guess something right? LOL

Really psyched to get my hands on this game, and even more excited we have a concrete release date, and it is this month! Already pre-ordered on Amazon for $40 (let's just hope they do not mess up the release day shipping) thanks to the $20 credit I just got from Black Ops. For whatever reason, I really got into GT5 Prologue. That was the first more simulation heavy racer I was actually able to enjoy, and I truly have tried them all. I even spent $150 on the MS Wireless Racing wheel for the 360, as I so wanted to get into Forza. And it just never happened. But for some reason, I finally "got it" with GT5 Prologue. I was able to ride a fully clean race, which I never, ever was able to do in any other sim game. So considering Prologue was an absolute joke compared to what GT5 actually is, if I get into it anywhere near as much as I did with Prologue, this is going to be a game I play for a long, long, long time to come. Also, this is truly one of the reasons I had decided to purchase a PS3 to begin with, so it has been a long time coming for this game.

This is one of the flagship titles and surely will not disappoint. Should be fun and addicting Larry. (Y)

Sony Australia has this morning confirmed the Australian release date for Gran Turismo 5, after it was announced for the US and Europe last night.

Gran Turismo 5 will be released in Australia on November 25, one day after the US, but with the time difference, it is roughly the same day.

November 25, that's only 13 sleeps away!

Hey Larry, I think there are tens of thousands (or more) people just like you (and me). I too bought my PS3 specifically for this upcoming day and this game. GT titles have always had some sort of magic feeling to them since their inception. Much of it has to do with the gear heads out there that enjoy gaming. I have been buying, driving, and racing cars IRL for 23 years. I have had a Car & Driver/Motor Trend/Road and Track in my hands for nearly 25 years. GT had started to bring what was on the road and print, and put it onto the TV first, allowing you to experience hundreds of beautiful pieces of Automotive Technology at your finger tips in the comfort of your home.

GT5 Prologue is a great (short) game, and I suspect GT5 final will be that much better with an endless focus on the attention to detail in automotive bliss. Oddly enough, the two games that get played the most out of my game library is Forza and GT. That is current library and past. Those games are like virtual cargasms for me.

    • Google are hyprocrites for signing this. They have been pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft, only they do it on Android and ChromeOS.
    • In some countries the law has forced Microsoft to display a menu on a fresh install of Windows which asks which web browser you want and it will install that browser. This doesn't add any bloat to Windows. It simply an additional step when setting up a new PC.
    • Chrome is also a first party browser on Android and ChromeOS. And on those systems, Google is pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft does on Windows.
    • Unofficial script lets you install unreleased Windows 11 features without Microsoft Account by Sayan Sen Microsoft has been steadily evolving the Windows Insider Program over the years, introducing new channels and testing paths that allow enthusiasts to experience upcoming and yet-to-be-released Windows features (some interesting hidden ones too) before they reach the public. However, one long-standing requirement has remained largely unchanged as users are generally expected to enroll in the Program and with a Microsoft account. That's where a third-party tool called "OfflineInsiderEnroll" can help. OfflineInsiderEnroll is said to be a lightweight script that enables access to Windows Insider Program builds on systems that are not signed in with a Microsoft account. Essentially the tool configures the necessary Insider settings locally and hence allows users to select and switch between available preview channels while continuing to receive builds through the normal Windows Update channel. If you are wondering how it manages to do so, it is made possible by a Registry value known as TestFlags. When configured to"0x20", Windows stops communicating with Microsoft's online Insider enrollment services thus preventing locally configured Insider settings from being overwritten. This allows the script to apply its own channel configuration directly through the Registry as Windows Update does not verify whether a device has been officially enrolled in the Insider Program or not. Previously the utility has had already supported the traditional Insider branches including Dev, Beta, and Release Preview. However following Microsoft’s recent restructuring of its preview channels, the script has now been updated. The latest OfflineInsiderEnroll version, 2.6.6, adds support for the newly introduced Insider channel lineup. As such, users can now choose from several Experimental channels in addition to Beta and Release Preview options. The update also retains tools for refreshing the Insider cache, resetting Insider settings, and completely stopping Insider enrollment when needed. Keep in mind though that will need elevated privileges when running the script (run as Admin). You can get the latest version of OfflineInsiderEnroll from this page on its official GitHub repo.
    • The "Classic" Outlook has done that for a few years as well. The option to even change that is really hidden away too... It really shouldn't be hard to respect user defaults. Sadly we are the product now, not Outlook. To change in the Classic Outlook: File > Options > Advanced > change "Open hyperlinks from Outlook in"
