I've ordered the Driving Force GT this morning! :) I'll get some practice with it on GT HD, and maybe GTR2 as well. Not GT5P, as I can't be arsed to sit there and wait for it to install again. :p

I got a phone call from GAME last night asking if I wanted to upgrade my std edition pre-order to the signature edition at the newly reduced price of ?129.99, I said "no thank you I'm not really interested in all the extras and only wanted the game but thanks for letting me know" I then immediately logged on to the web site to see if this was a special deal they was just offering to me cos I?m special  or if it was a deal to every who had bother to notice.

Sure enough it was a promotion for every Tom Dick or Harry??but immediately after I received an email from GAME saying something along the lines of ?Caught you looking, it?s still not too late to order the Signature edition?

I think GAME may have been a bit over ambitious and pre-ordered too many copies of the signature edition for stock and are struggling to get enough pre-orders for this very expensive special edition, which is good news if you can wait for a week after release (whenever that might be) cos I reckon they?ll be some awesome price cuts.

Why has a thread about Gran Turismo 5 devolved into people bickering about media formats? Can you guys go and argue somewhere else?

In an attempt to bring the thread back on track:

I bought my PS3 on launch day in anticipation of this game. It's since broken and I had to buy a new one recently, which means I can't play PS2 games on it anymore :-(

I can't wait! :woot: :woot: :woot:

I think I am probably one of the few GH members who still owns there original launch PS3 :p

Lucky! I got a PS3 slim, which is actually bigger (in terms of footprint) than the original. Oh, and the PS3 logo on the front doesn't turn around!

From GTPlanet, member serverfull:
I would like to shed light on the versions some users have. They are copies of GT5 but the first run that was pressed wasn't the gold version. The version that was pressed was preview code. Don't ask me how / why I know because those questions are not something I will answer.

Thanks

People that thought I work for PD or Sony are not correct. If that was the case I won't have added my PSN to the account. Not stupid .

I have and do work in the industry though. There are cases were preview code gets pressed and shipped. There are even cases were a game is cancelled during shipping (My copy of NBA Elite 11). Most of the time if preview code is retail pressed it is caught within 1500 copies by QA. Sometimes we mess up and send those to reviewers though. Mainly because they usually get the first 1000 off the line.

Since this was caught a little further in the stamping process they decided to delay the game and destroy first run copies. After that when 2nd press started PD rep was there to verify the version.

All this is very easy to fark up because you send Sony, MS, Nintendo and there pressing partners an was is basically an ISO from there Dev kits.

Explains the image I posted on the last page about features not being available... And well of course, the delay itself.

Sucks for those early buyers if they have to re-buy the game rofl.gif

Still got mine too :D ****es me off how loud it is though :(

Been looking at some cooling mods (made both my old 360's silent), something has to be done. Also gonna have to do something about those thumb sticks if I'm gonna be playing GT5 for any length of time.

Never did get around to buying one of these, http://www.fanatec.com/pwts and now they are no longer available in the UK :(

Get a wheel. After buying mine I'll never race with the controller again. My times improved all around.

I don't have time to clean up an entire thread of nearly 100 pages, but I've removed the off-topic posts from this page.

Anybody else who decides to discuss something other than GT5 in this thread will find themselves issued with a warning for thread de-railment, and dependant on what your current warn level is, you may very well find yourself permanently restricted from this area.

If you want to discuss a different topic, then create a thread for it. It's not exactly difficult.

Unless there is a serious change in attitudes of some members around here, we may need to go through yet another purge of restricting some people from GH. It's getting stupid guys. If you can't play nice with each other, then either use the ignore feature or just plain don't reply. Not hard.

I've still got mine. :) But like DARKFiB3R said, it's loud as hell now, a lot of the time. Anyone know a way to help cool it down/silence it? Without having to buy a PS3 Slim. :p

Oh, on a side note, my wheel's already been shipped! :)

Was that code any good In the end?

pre-ordered yesterday. please dont tell me it's the 26th now...

my hope was (still is, sorta) that with the 24th launch, i'd have it in time for the 26th (amazon has shifted to UPS here which means blazing 2 days tops delivery)

aftermath: realizing it's monday and that i spent the entire weekend playing GT5.

still using a logitech momo racing force wheel - PC USB wheel but works great on GT5: prologue. naturally the PS specific buttons dont work, but paddle shifting, pedals, et all work... want the G27 for the clutch, but too much money.

    • "Revelation?" I was hoping for this episode to be called "Reunion". Oh, well... In a related note, the Final Fantasy VII compilation has received an EC entry, short for Ever Crisis. For those who don't know, it already had AC, BC, CC, and DC entries, short for Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. I hope it doesn't get an FC entry becaude that would be a freakin' crisis.
    • Uh, after intense testing now, 'Samsung Browser' is not the best one outside of 'Microsoft Edge' after all. Opera Air is that. It has "some" bloat, but it's far less than what both Microsoft Edge and Brave browser have.
