I've still got mine. :) But like DARKFiB3R said, it's loud as hell now, a lot of the time. Anyone know a way to help cool it down/silence it? Without having to buy a PS3 Slim. :p

Oh, on a side note, my wheel's already been shipped! :)

What wheel did you get mate?

Is logitech releasing new wheels with GT5.

Nope, there's been no news of any new wheels, since they announced the G27 last year. Maybe next year? I just realised the Driving Force GT is nearly three years old. :p

never mind the driving he was just showing off the head tracking. but I really hope you can adjust the zoom level of that camera, why would anyone want 60% of the screen to be car interior. from normal gamign distance your screen is already significantly smaller than an actual car windscreen. are you supposed to sit there squinting trying to make out the road...

**** off PD...

The initial install size of Gran Turismo 5 on your PS3 HDD is going to be 6.4 GB. He also revealed that it takes about 40 minutes to install.

Best post this so people don't jump to conclusions

Kindly note that this installation is optional and you can play the game without doing this. It only requires 256 MB of your HDD if you decide against doing it but it's highly recommended that you do if you plan on spending days with the game like we do.

All info is coming from here

GT Life mode. - spoiler alert, highlight for content:

You can choose design of your racing suit (only once per save) and then design your My Life space (backgrounc color, profile picture (from the PhotoModes, interesting??), you can choose from 12 beautiful sceneries for the Home Wallpaper and edit your Welcome Message.

When in Used Car/Dealership garage, every car (all in Used Car are Standard Models) have a Demo. During the demo you can watch the car being auto-piloted on the test track with great motor sounds due to track configurations - and car story being displayed as an roll-on txt. Despite many members will later find evidence to contrary, I have to admit that during Demo Drive, for instance Nomad Diablo/Plymouth Cuda/Callaway C12 looked very ok. Standard cars looks way better than I expected, but far from complexity of Premiums.

Also, Demo Drive is dome on some special Test Course (probably Cape Ring, not sure at this point), and cars go uphill, downhill, slow and fast, in order to catch the sound and variations of the engine sound (Doppler Effect presented there is amazing). And I assure you that Diablo/Cuda/C12 (oh the V12 biggrin.gif) all sounds freaking beautiful. Driver in Demo Drive will sometimes make a small mistake, force skidding or even drifting - which is a nice touch.

Before going to Licenses you have to purchase a car. Purchasing a car in some colour gives you the Paint Item for that colour (for body or rims).

Now heading for the Licenses. Expect additional updates soon.

UPDATE SECOND AND HALF

OK, all National B Licenses done (10 of them), all Golds.

Nothing particulary challenging, but it was fun to see some licenses from the times of the very first Gran Turismo in the new era smile.gifAll licenses are done with Premium cars as expected.

Notice that Skid Recovery is permanetly on and it can't be set to off for al I-B Licenses. Other assists can be turned off, but you have to do it manually for every new License. Some things never change in he World of Gran Turismo smile.gif Also notice that quantity of OSD data during in-cockpit is noting short of fabulous biggrin.gif Position, map, current time, prize times, best time, all gauges, split-times... My dear Lord. Polyphony sticks to the roots of 15 years ago lol.gif

For all Bronzes in I-B you get legendary Demio Sport '03. For Silver and Gold you get (spoiler alert): OFC Concept '07 and ZZ-S '00.

Notice that winning all I-B with Gold will get you to Lv. 4 and unlock Kart, JG Nascar and Top Gear Special Races (ones with appropriate level).

Also, I-B 10 License hosts 16 cars on track, so that one question is also settled pretty much.

Gone from Sig to Collectors to Peasants

I know :(

I'm so broke right now though, and I need to buy xmas prezzies soon.

I really want to keep my collectors edition on order, but ?26.99 vs ?59.99....

Yeah it's understandable. Big difference, I've managed to get most presents and convinced gf to buy my the sig edition combined with some spare xmas money the parents had left to spend on me.

My GF was buying me it at the start of November, but delay came along and now none of us can afford it :p

    • Thanks, Sony and Nintendo, you effectively killed platform-agnostic gaming. Long gone are the days when you could wish to play a specific game on whatever platform you were. Now, you have to buy the hardware just to play that single game. What, you're only interested in THAT game and nothing more? Bad luck, suck it and buy our console.
    • The AI data centers need it more than us so...let them gobble it all up at that price!
    • "CRAZIER than ever!" Crazy Taxi: World Tour is officially coming soon by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Sega announced it is working on bringing back some of its classic franchises in 2023, and while it has taken some time, the company finally gave fans a look at one of these new projects at the Xbox Games Showcase today, which turned out to be a brand-new Crazy Taxi entry. Watch the debut trailer above, which has snippets of gameplay in between the cinematic bits while blasting a track from The Offspring. Dubbed Crazy Taxi World Tour, this installment is aptly being described as being "CRAZIER than ever!" The director behind the original, Kenji Kanno, is helming this new entry as well, which will come with access to five new cities to drive in, competitive multiplayer modes, a vehicle customization system, and more. Axel is returning as a protagonist as well, but this time a mystery driver is offering him the opportunity to take his adventures to the streets in other countries. This will involve Axel chasing down masked villains that have somehow stolen his taxi, which means even more extreme missions and challenges to overcome. "From transporting passengers at top speed to tackling unique side missions and odd jobs across dynamic maps, there are countless ways to drive crazy and rake in big money," says Sega about this new installment after over 20 years. "Perform outrageous drifts, catch insane air, and drive at crazy speeds across five different cities as you work to deliver passengers and complete a variety of missions and challenges." The studio has even confirmed an in-game Arcade Mode that players will be able to access containing the original games for plenty of nostalgic action. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is currently slated to release sometime in 2027 across PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
    • This and Crazy Taxi are the two games that interested me the most from this showcase.
