This is a new 5th set of events? Cool. I've fairly much completed everything bar the Spec B and the 9 and 24 hour races so the new Seasonal events are a nice change and add a bit to the game.

Yep, 5 new bonus races. I completed the German Touring one, it's just like the event in A-spec.

Here's the details of the latest seasonal events:

  • Volkswagen Schwimmwagen typ166 - Cape Ring Outside (5 laps) - 800,000 CR + 30,000 XP
  • Peugeot 207 GTi - Cote d'Azur (5 laps) - 150,000 CR + 40,000 XP
  • TVR Tuscan Speed 6 - Cape Ring South (5 laps) - 200,000 CR + 70,000 XP
  • Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione - Rome Circuit (5 laps) - 350,000 CR + 90,000 XP
  • European Touring Cars - Nurburgring GP/D (8 laps) - 2,000,000 CR + 120,000 XP

They've been cute with these seasonal events now. Although there is no restrictions the actual car you need to enter can cost up three quarters of the amount of money you can win. So if you just tune it up to the max you'd barely break even, so you have an incentive to do it as close to stock as possible to make a half decent profit. They've got the European touring cars to still provide a nice credit boost though, you'd need one of those anyway.

OK, I've experience firsthand why the VW Schwimmwagen event give you 800,000 CR for winning: because it's unstable as f**k on Cape Ring! If you brake going into most of the corners, you will spin out, and it takes a while to get going again. You'll have to brake extra early and creep round some of the corners to survive.

Oh yeah, up the transmission as well, to about 120MPH. :p

...for once, I'm glad I screwed up the maths there. :p I'm finally level 30! :D I passed it by about 20,000 XP. Got a cool 2 million credits from the last seasonal event, so I've currently got nearly 6.7 million credits now, so let's see how much the X2010 costs in the dealerships... 20 million?!?! Oh, it's level 40 as well, so I've definitely gotta win it the hard way by doing the Sebastian Vettel challenge. This should be fun! :D

BTW, does anyone know why they renamed it from the X1 to the X2010? I've got no idea why they did it, and all it's done now is screw up Vettel's cutscene, as he says X1, but the subtitles say X2010. :p

You get the X2010 for free by reaching level 35 on B-Spec I believe :)

Are the seasonal race events too easy? So far, I'm finding all I have to do is buy the required car and put some soft slicks on it and that's enough to win. Ok, it's a fun race, thrashing the car for a few laps, but it's over too quickly. They need to put restrictions back in.

Not found I can only change the tyres and win, but I think they perhaps need to make the cash/XP reduce according to "how much over the power that is possible" you are. If some of the ones we've had were limited to the stock car only they'd be impossible because the leading car gets a 10 second start advantage and often has more hp...

No doubt some people are just max-tuning their cars and then winning them really easily though. I'm giving them a go stock first then making tuning adjustments according to how it goes, which saves a little money.

Well, I finally caved and bought a Logitech Driving Force GT, and OMG it's so good! Even my fianc?e loves it, and she was questioning why I'd want to spend so much on a plastic wheel!

I found a really great, and cheap, height-adjustable stand for it in Ikea. It only cost me 199kr, which is about $14! Unfortunately, it's really light and the force feedback kicks the desk around too much to be useful. Fortunately, there's a simple solution (which I detailed on my blog) - screw two screws into the desk's base at the right places for the screw holes in the pedal box to hook onto, and the weight your feet put on the pedal box keeps everything nice and steady! :)

Now apply the bungie cord mod to the brake pedal, and you got yourself a set up :p

If you are putting racing soft tyres on then you will destroy the competition, I find putting on soft sports tyres is usually a good point for a competitive race.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone wanted to trade cars... I am giving up my Formula Gran Turismo (near 5 mill in used car dealership) in exchange of something similar in value... preferably a car that will allow my b-spec driver to beat the historic racing cup challenge... I have already beat it on aspec but it was a borrowed car. As well my Formula GT has the setup I used to beat the Formula GT championship easily... you only need to change transmission depending on race!

Thanks!

Do the Indy endurance on A-spec and you'll get the Jaguar Race Car from 1966, that is enough to beat the competition in the Historic Car Cup.

The endurance is only 200 laps, around 2 hours with the Formula GT.

Here's an idea; compete against human beings. Let's see if you still think it's too easy.

Online is a joke! Last time I played it was very difficult to find a decent room where people raced in similar cars. I managed to race in one room and it was absolutley fantastic! Great close racing, but this has only happened once, I have yet to find something similar

    • I don't hate the new menus, I am not a fan of the lack of features and how they went live when they clearly are not complete. The menu itself presents much better than the previous - but what's lacking (IMO) is: 1) Any kind of automated manipulation such as: "this goes on the new menu because you use this feature more often on this filetype" "this is rarely used and will fall back to the old menu" 2) Any kind of user manipulation such as: "a UI to add/remove/order items to the new menu"
    • The biggest issue in this version of Win 11 context menu, from usability standpoint, is the movable row with basic commands. Think of a car analogy...if You turn the week left the infotainment screen will move right and vice versa. With how it works now Microsoft made something forbidden in designing in any UI, software or hardware. I can't grasp who were the morons within Microsoft suggesting it was a good idea and gave it a green light.
    • LibreOffice 26.2.4 by Razvan Serea LibreOffice is the free power-packed Open Source personal productivity suite for Windows, Macintosh and Linux, that gives you six feature-rich applications for all your document production and data processing needs: Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math and Base. Support and documentation is free from our large, dedicated community of users, contributors and developers. You, too, can also get involved! Choosing Between LibreOffice Still and LibreOffice Fresh: LibreOffice Still is a good choice if you value stability, a longer support cycle, and a more conservative approach to software updates. It's suitable for businesses and organizations where reliability and compatibility are crucial. LibreOffice Fresh is ideal if you're an enthusiast or an early adopter who wants to stay on the cutting edge of LibreOffice development and is willing to accept more frequent updates and occasional minor issues. Features: Writer is the word processor inside LibreOffice. Use it for everything, from dashing off a quick letter to producing an entire book with tables of contents, embedded illustrations, bibliographies and diagrams. The while-you-type auto-completion, auto-formatting and automatic spelling checking make difficult tasks easy (but are easy to disable if you prefer). Writer is powerful enough to tackle desktop publishing tasks such as creating multi-column newsletters and brochures. The only limit is your imagination. Calc tames your numbers and helps with difficult decisions when you're weighing the alternatives. Analyze your data with Calc and then use it to present your final output. Charts and analysis tools help bring transparency to your conclusions. A fully-integrated help system makes easier work of entering complex formulas. Add data from external databases such as SQL or Oracle, then sort and filter them to produce statistical analyses. Use the graphing functions to display large number of 2D and 3D graphics from 13 categories, including line, area, bar, pie, X-Y, and net - with the dozens of variations available, you're sure to find one that suits your project. Impress is the fastest and easiest way to create effective multimedia presentations. Stunning animation and sensational special effects help you convince your audience. Create presentations that look even more professional than the standard presentations you commonly see at work. Get your collegues' and bosses' attention by creating something a little bit different. Draw lets you build diagrams and sketches from scratch. A picture is worth a thousand words, so why not try something simple with box and line diagrams? Or else go further and easily build dynamic 3D illustrations and special effects. It's as simple or as powerful as you want it to be. Base is the database front-end of the LibreOffice suite. With Base, you can seamlessly integrate into your existing database structures. Based on imported and linked tables and queries from MySQL, PostgreSQL or Microsoft Access and many other data sources, you can build powerful databases containing forms, reports, views and queries. Full integration is possible with the in-built HSQL database. Math is a simple equation editor that lets you lay-out and display your mathematical, chemical, electrical or scientific equations quickly in standard written notation. Even the most-complex calculations can be understandable when displayed correctly. E=mc2. LibreOffice also comes configured with a PDF file creator, meaning you can distribute documents that you're sure can be opened and read by users of almost any computing device or operating system. That's 27% off and $90 saved for a solid Wi-Fi solution that covers your entire home (purchase link down below). The 2-pack covers up to 4,000 square feet (372 square meters) and supports 100+ connected devices, which handles the vast majority of home setups without breaking a sweat. Wi-Fi 6E brings access to the 6 GHz band for lower latency across the network, and the 2.5 Gb Ethernet port supports gigabit+ internet plans if your ISP offers them. eero's TrueMesh technology handles traffic routing automatically, so you're not manually managing which devices connect to which node. You set up the entire thing through the eero app, and the entire process takes a few minutes. The system also receives automatic security updates in the background, so once you set it up, you don't have to worry about compatibility issues. If you're covering a larger home or want more nodes, the 3-pack is $329.99 and the 4-pack is $479.98, both at similar discount levels. It's worth mentioning that a newer model exists, which is likely the reason for the discount, but the Pro 6E is still perfectly capable hardware for most homes.
