Yes, it is a standard car. You can change the tyres on standard cars. I think the confusion is that you can't change the wheel rims on standard cars.

Do you have to do it all in one run or can you save and come back to it?

No save feature at all, i sat through the full 5 hours tire changes & refueling and all.

I guess this is what happens when people want realistic racers, they give you realism in some form and now we don't want it, lol.

Though there should have ideally been save checkpoints so far through, guess if I want a break I will have to leave it on.

Obviously not everyone can dedicate that amount of time, but there's no reason compromise to be "gamey" in a simulator because some can't do it.

Ha yes, I remember doing the endurance races in GT3. It's hardcore, but do-able.

GT5 definitely has some rough edges, and could easily be described as unfinished, and frankly this is inexcusable. That said, I am really enjoying it which in the end is what gaming as all about. Maybe PD will patch some of the problems, but I suspect if there is any DLC will be extra cars and maybe tracks. The underlying game is solid, and not much really needs changing. It wouldn't surprise me at all if our wishlist of improvements end up in GT6, which would be disappointing.

Thanks to everyone that has helped me out with cars, I have returned everyones cars as well but I have to take the game back to Blockbuster since it's due tonight and I can't see myself paying another $10 to rent it. I should be getting it for Christmas so until then it's back to Forza. See you soon :)

Well, I finally managed to get gold on the Top Gear Lotus Elise challenge, but only after I turned all of the assists on, and used the controller. :p I suddenly went from struggling to control the car and just scraping 5th or 4th, to shooting up to 3rd on the first lap!

I'm stuck on Ferrari challenge don't have enough dough to buy one (story of my real life), the endurance tests were the reason that I put gt4 back in the box. I don't think I will be touch those, I barely get few hour to play gt5 there's no way I could dedicate 4 or more hours to a game in one go.

But if I have few days of good sleep and 1 day off with nothing to do, I would defiantly do the 24 hour endurance.

I give up with B-Spec, doing the Amateur Euro Hot Hatch race my AI driver in a 690bhp~ Ferrari 458 Italia is struggling to pass 150-200bhp VW Lupos, Peugeot 206s, etc..?

I've noticed that you can't just simply give your driver a radically more powerful car for the opponants they are racing. Best to go 30-40bhp more than the top opponant. Still takes a few trys to win though.

Pretty much expected this, given that those that have been waiting for GT5 would have picked it up in the first week, then all the multi platform games will take back over given their appeal over all the consoles.
