You also can't argue against the fact that he's the luckiest man in football's history.

Ever heard the phrase "you make your own luck"?

Hard work usually pays off, and a team that can win so many games when playing poorly is one that deserves it IMO.

Ha, but unlike other teams you have to cheat to get your goals, still fuming about that Nani goal.. AND Park scoring in the 112th ****ing minute, ridiculous! How many times have we seen it? 2 or 3 minutes added on, 9 minutes later Utd get a goal, pathetic.

Nanis goal - don't see how it was "cheating" per se. Yes, I'd be angry if it was the other way around, but you need to blame the referee or the linesman, or perhaps blame Gomez for giving the ball to Nani?

Parks goal - 93rd minute, within injurty time. How is that cheating? There was 4 minutes of added time given, and Nani scored in the 3rd. Just sour grapes I think.

I wouldnt say he gave the ball to Nani, he placed it down and walked back as in ready to take the free kick.. The thing which got me is if it was play on why did everyone but Nani run back up the pitch expecting a long kick from Gomes? It was a farce, probably one of the worst decisions in recent history, the same thing happened with liverpool not long ago. Video technology is WAY overdue, dick heads like Clattenburg wont **** things up so much then :)

The referee never blew his whistle. I don't care what level you are playing at, you play to the whistle.

That is the second thing I was taught playing football for my local boysclub when I was 11! Somewhat oddly, the first thing I was taught is also ignored by top players too often - don't mess around with the ball right infront of your goal.

You can't blame Nani for tapping it in. The ball was in open play. If he didn't try to score, then he would have had a right screaming at from the rest of his team and from fergie.

I think Nani should have been booked for the hand ball, but I don't see any problem with a free kick not being given - Gomez had the ball, so why bother stopping play.

Going back to my first point - Gomez should have been paying attention. He wasn't, he conceded.

Why bother stopping play? You could say that about any foul any handball and illegal incident.. Nani wouldnt have had a shouting at if the didnt do it, because nobody knew what was going on majority of the United team AND Ferguson admitted that they though it was a free kick, how the linesman missed it i dont know..

Gomez had the ball though. You see it all the time. Like offsides flagged by the linesman, but as the defending team has got the ball, the ref plays on.

There was no free kick given, thus Nani was right to try to score. Blame the referee, linesman or Gomez. I agree it was a farce though.

Not going to bother repeating myself anymore smile.gif.

I agree that united often get decisions in their more than what they should, but the two that you mentioned (Nani's goal and Park's goal) were totally legitamate.

Liverpool beating Chelsea 2-0 then tying Wigan 1-1...same logic?

Happens more often than you think, that is why those kind of FA cup contests are always so close. There's something about playing a fierce rival (especially a rival as big as Chelsea) that gets the adrenaline flowing that doesn't always happen against lesser opponents. Not a great result for sure, but it keeps us unbeaten and confidence in the camp will continue to improve.

Chelsea have announced they are not renewing the contract of assistant manager Ray Wilkins and that he is to leave the club with immediate effect.

Wilkins, 54, rejoined Chelsea's coaching staff for a second time in 2008 to work under Luiz Felipe Scolari.

He stayed when Guus Hiddink came in and remained when Carlo Ancelotti was named manger ahead of the 2009-2010 season.

Chelsea's chief executive Ron Gourlay said: "I would like to thank Ray for everything he has done for Chelsea."

He added: "We all wish him well for the future."

Wilkins - who enjoyed a distinguished playing career with spells at Chelsea, Manchester United, AC Milan and QPR amongst others - was on the bench for the clubs's 1-0 win over Fulham on Wednesday.

Wonder what were the politics behind his sacking, can't see this being a contract dispute.

Maldini to replace him

    • Limited Prime Day deal sees Amazon Echo Show 11 is at its lowest price yet by Ivan Jenic The Amazon Echo Show 11 is currently $149.99 on Amazon during Prime Day, down from $219.99. That's 32% off and $70 saved on Amazon's newest mid-size smart display (purchase link below). As its name suggests, the Echo Show 11 features a 11” Full-HD touchscreen, which is a decent upgrade over the Echo Show 8. It offers 60% more viewing area, which makes a genuine difference for recipes, calendars, video calls, or any other scenario where the smaller display can feel a bit cramped. The Show 11 is built around Alexa+, Amazon's more capable AI assistant that can handle natural conversation. You can make reservations, order groceries, and find content based on your preferences, instead of always having to give it precise commands. There’s also the Omnisense technology, which adds ambient awareness, allowing the device to trigger routines based on temperature, presence detection, or visual cues. Smart home control is built in without needing a separate hub, and the home screen doubles as a photo slideshow when not in use. Taking all of this into account, the Show 11 is a perfect smart addition to your kitchen counter or living room. At $149.99, this is a strong Prime Day buy for anyone already in the Amazon ecosystem or looking to build one out.
