I like the way you play, ~WinGz~. You make an awesome 2v2 partner. Anyway, I just got promoted to Gold for 1v1. I was stuck in Silver for a little bit because I lost 2 games to bizarre tactics (mass Muta/Ling, etc). And I must say, so many people will try to cheese you in Silver. It's quite pathetic. Hopefully I'll get promoted to Platinum in a couple of days.

i do not like banelings right now lol

omg

i was just playing my friend

TvZ

i'm all like naaaaaw he's not gonna baneling bust me

so he does lol

and i'm like wtf i'm a retard

so i fend that off, macro up a bit then push

i'm thinking I GOT THIS lol

i think i did a scan right before and it looked real good

so i'm going up his ramp

BAAAAAM

like 10 banelines unburrow and there goes my army

I LOVE STARCRAFT 2

I just got out of silver n_n took way to many tears though.

So how do you guys deal with things like proxy reapers and fast-expanding Zerg? Personally, I've had to deal with those situations in my 1v1 league matches (where I play Protoss exclusively) and here's my answer: For proxy reapers, I'll pull off a couple of probes to sacrifice them. This makes the reaper run back and do the usual back and forth micro. In the meantime, I'm doing everything I can to get that first stalker out. Once that stalker is out, you macro up and build up an army. For the second scenario, I wall up as best I can and quickly expand myself. Building a forge and some cannons help. After all, the last thing you want is a Zerg player to be ahead of you in economy.

For those with hyperthreading enabled processors, do you find SC2 runs faster with it disabled? I know at the very least it will run cooler.

Honestly I haven't tried but I'm having no performance issues with HT on.

Still fighting my way through Silver (currently Rank 2 in my division) but I'm going to race switch from Terran to Protoss which will probably keep me in silver for quite a while, while I learn.

Reaper or Lings.

Toss: Single cannon, first upgrade,

Terran: 2 marines usually deal with them

Zerg: Double queen all the way.

Void Rushes:

Toss: 2 Cannons behind mineral lines do the trick for early rushes.

Terran: hahahahahahha To be honest terran really are sitting ducks unless you have a ghost and a few marines.

Turrets are fodder. ( im exclusively a terran player ;] )

Zerg: Triple Queen is usually what I go at my main if im going against toss.

Also heres more tips for you guys.

- Protoss -

- Feedback with your templars can be your best friend.

Terran units have a majority with energy, use that to your advantage. Storm also makes quick work of medics with rines.

- Void rays late game against terran if they have a few thors one ghost bye bye voids.

- DTs if you micro them against a terran you can win. Send one in to make him use his scan and repeat

Once you drain the energy hit the main with more dts.

- Colossus and stalkers are your best friend against zerg.

- Pheonix are a force to be reckoned with if you have more then 10, Gravitron makes easy work of siege tanks and other pain in the butt units.

I tried the phoenix thing once, a couple of marines and they're goners

Explain, first Plasma Shield Upgrade or Attack upgrade?

you need to always be able to harass zerg players. never let them gain too much momentum and monitor expos.

coming from someone who used to effectively reaper rush, if you can get a stalker by 3:40-4:00, you will be good. also make sure you have a pylon near ridges so you can see any early rushes. tbh, reaper cheese rushing worked against inexperienced players but as i started moving up the ladder, it worked less. i find that a mm ball works more effectively in the early and mid game.

as a terran player, i have my ramp closely observed before it's walled off. if a probe sneaks in my base i immediately have a scv harass it and if i suspect photon canon rush me i will build reapers quickly to take out his base. everytime they canon rush, they waste so many resources, they leave their base unprotected.

Those are some good strategies, ~WinGz~. We have to go against each other some time. I especially love the rinse and repeat DT tactic. It really ****es Terran players off and puts them into tunnel vision mode where they waste scans (when they could easily build a raven). As for phoenix, I find that it's only effective against early-game Zerg where they lack any real anti-air other than a queen.

I learned that the hard way. I find that warping in an extra gateway and producing more zealots usually makes quick work of a Zerg player that wants to expand. Usually, they'll fend off your attacks with zerglings/spine crawlers and continue to get their expansion up. As a Protoss player, it's always nice to watch my Zerg opponent cancel his/her hatchery. :p

One thing that totally caught me off guard against a Terran player was mass marines. I had stalkers, immortals and a couple of sentries but that wasn't enough to defend against it.

Anyway, here's some advice: do not play any league matches if Blizzard plans on doing Battle.net maintenance. I was in a 1v1 league match against a Zerg player and it said the system was shutting down in 45 seconds, etc. At this point, I didn't even play for 5 minutes so I figured it would be a tie (as was the case in the beta). Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I logged back in to see that I lost the match because my opponent slightly outscored me in economy and units. It's unfair that I get a loss for something that was basically out of my control.

Having never played Starcraft 1 and being a big fan of the Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander RTS series I was sceptical of Starcraft but got taken in by the hype and brought a copy... What an amazing game :-) I had a blast going through the campaign and playing custom games on battle.net.

What's the difficulty difference like between the practice league and the normal starter league? as i've played a few games in the practice league and i'm 5 games 5 wins 1v1, 4 games 2 wins 2v2, will this good streak continue if i click the dreaded 'skip' button on the practice league? :)

(oh and if you fancy a game details in sig!)

An autonomous AI system built by researchers at Amazon's A-EVO-Lab completed a full post-training run on a 30 billion parameter NVIDIA Nemotron model — with no human in the loop, across four rounds running over multiple weeks — and then did something its designers had not planned for: it detected that its own internal evaluation metric had become misleading and redesigned the search strategy it was using to improve itself. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319123/20260626/nvidia-ai-trained-itself-30b-model-corrected-its-own-broken-metric-mid-run.htm

    • If Ford would stop hiring SUITS to run the company, and put CAR GUYS back in charge perhaps they could do better. Heck, the only CAR they produce today is the Mustang. Hey Ford! Not everyone needs/wants an overpriced SUV or pickup truck that is so tall you have to have a step ladder to get in and out of it.
    • Amazing how some will just jump all over something. Probably the same people that thought Musk was a "tech god" before he saddled up with "bad orange man". Before, they worshiped at his feet, including a lot of so called hollywood types. Now, because he fell off the plantation truck, they toss him under the bus.
