Microsoft's Xbox team just wrapped up its first showcase of the year with the Developer_Direct, and already, another game development wing of Microsoft is readying its own events. Blizzard is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2026, and today, it announced four upcoming showcases containing "big announcements, sneak peeks, and teases" from its teams.
The events are focused on the four current pillars of Blizzard, namely World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and Diablo. With BlizzCon going missing for two years in a row, this is a good opportunity for the developer to show off what it's been working on behind the scenes.
Here's how to catch each of the four showcases live over the next two weeks:
- World of Warcraft State of Azeroth - January 29 at 9:00 a.m. PST
- Overwatch Spotlight - February 4 at 10:00 a.m. PST
- Hearthstone Spotlight - February 9 at 9:30 a.m. PST
- Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight - February 11 at 2:00 p.m. PST
"As we look toward the future, this event celebrates the artists, makers, and visionaries behind our games, and our players who bring them to life, as we celebrate 35 years of community and craft," said Blizzard today. "We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on… and with BlizzCon 2026 on the horizon, this is only the beginning."
For 35 years, Blizzard has been shaped by the worlds we build - and the players who bring them to life. You’ve fought through World of Warcraft, battled in Diablo, played your cards in Hearthstone, and held the line in Overwatch.

While there have been numerous rumors about the return of StarCraft, perhaps in a different form, it doesn't look like these events will be focusing on new announcements such as that. The returning BlizzCon presentation might be where we get to see fresh reveals, which is slated to go live in September 2026.
