My big question is, how do you know which units to attack singly or go all out (if thats the right term)..?

Think of starcraft as rock paper scissors. This counters that blah blah, so if the game seems to be going late game I generally try to a bit of this and a bit of that. Generally works out since they won't have anything to counter unit A if they massed a single unit. If you're playing a P v P game and you know your opponent is going Void, build stalkers and sentries. Bye bye viod ray.

i was 73% on plat league before i do campaign... now that im finished with brutal mode and all gold on challenges, im thinking going to for the 10-win streak that elude me; guess what, i got my 10-streak... 10-losing-streak >.< auto refinery and fly-in supply depots really spoiled me...

Yeah, Heard that slang as well. Its apparently a rush in the opponents teams area with cannons and just straight up building in their base.

Damn youth and their slang : P

A cheese is often known as a cheap win, where you may lose at the expense of not scouting. They often require great sacrifice and can often result in a loss if not unsuccessful.

Well, I did not build a single building outside my main base, I did go with dual gateway/quick zealots though but that strategy will not put me far behind if it doesn't win and scouting will limit the effectiveness but not prevent damage.

I think that as the expansions are released we'll see some of the stuff from the campaign added into the multiplayer. The reason they haven't added it in yet is because the zerg and protoss don't have their uber upgrades yet. I hope this is the case because that predator unit is fun!

Anyone did the In Utter Darkness on Brutal? That thing is just impossible. :/

dark templar wall off 3 entrance, then mass phoenix; build a crap loads of cannons inside your production area

once the carriers became buildable, mass build carriers

after the initial 4-5 waves, send the observer closer to the zerg spawning point; if you see overseer(s) actively snipe them down with phoenix before they start coming in, then retreat your phoenix. if your observer die, you must send another one in to replace it

beware of the multiple entrance attacks, you will need to split your phoenix group up to kill the overseer from both spawn points

when the pressure became too much (when one DT wall is broken down, and hopefully you are above 2k kills; my wall broken down at around 2.2k), retreat ALL of your troops - including the DT walls - to your main, give up the lower area. group around the mothership for stealth, then continue snipe down overseers when you see them

i have about 2.8k kill when the mission ends; the key to the success of this mission is snipe down the overseers BEFORE the army charge to your DT wall

^ Thank you for your post. This will surely help! :)

no problem... i was having a lot of problem with the mission too, always dying at 2.2k and 2.3k kills; then i finally decided to mass carriers instead of colossi, and always keep 15-18 phoenix per team in two teams before the wall falls. when you see an army is building up by the spawn point, you want to immediately send a group phoenix in regardless of the presence of overseer just in case; if you dont see one, retreat immediately before losing too many (likely losing 3-4 depending on the army composition near mid-game); if you do see one, sometimes two, kill them then immediately retreat, and restock your lost units. your void rays and carriers will be more than enough to take care of the nydus worm and fliers near the achieves. you might want to keep the nydus worm that popped on top of your initial cannon area alive, as it keeps on popping zerglings for easy kills

In Utter Darkness = 30xx kills on Brutal.

Thanks to theclueless. :)

One thing though, I didn't make any units other than Phoenixes and Dark Templars (+3 armor / weapons / shield).

EDIT: Only All In remains. But I'll have to play the damn campaign again, because I killed the worms instead of the fliers.

Well I am officially taking a break from starcraft 2 for awhile.

After 8 losses in a row to maphackers. I'm kind of fed up with the ****.

I mean I can understand one game with a blatant hacker. But when its 8 in a row due to the same ******* team its pretty ridiculous.

I'm going to tell you right now. Do not get into Diamond if you can.

Cause you will play some of the same people over and over again.

So if you play hackers adapt to their strategy they adapt to your moves.

These guys were good but had to map hack to win.

The one zerg was maphacking so bad he sat on my base told his teammates what i had and were.

I had tanks set up for a mass reaper wall that was coming.

The guy completely avoided my tanks no scan, no overlords nothing.

He edged himself just away from my tanks line of sight and killed my scvs.

Then the other guy would bring in mutas and without any line of sight knew where i had my stalkers and flew by them and whenever i would move with observer sight he knew.

3 zerg match so no way they could of seen what I had. Then the randomly spawning nyduses in the fog of war was the best part of it!

w00 just an update to all of you.

Team ranked matches have been fixed so that you won't play more games out of your league then in league anymore.

So for all you silvers playing diamonds. be ready to play your respective leagues more often.

Tonight me and my team played against platinums and diamonds as usual since we are on brink of being promoted and you can tell the matches

were better picked because they were always close games.

So happy :D

Done with the single player. All achievements gained. Time to kick some butt. Protoss brethren, here I come!

congrat! on a side note... i beat all-in against fliers (kill the worms); with hive mind control, my base is literally swarmed with muta, brood lords, roaches and hydra; the game pretty much went to auto-pilot mode when the levi appeared, its just a matter of clicking the nova when it charges, and controlling the muta when they come

you should play the challenges, they are fun (and frustrating)

just thought i'd post this tool that i use to practice build orders, i saw Day9 used it in one of his tutorials a while ago

http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/yabot/

download the and unzip

double click the map to load it in the map editor

File -> Test Document

it has some preloaded build orders to practice or u can just freestyle

you can also set the AI to none, or use Green Tea AI + a specific build order to practice against (don't forget to check the Use Custom Build Order box)

i found it very useful when trying to learn a new race or to just test out a build order you might have seen in a VOD

It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. • I was using searxng for about a year , self hosted, but results were starting to timeout and eventually it became unusable so I switched to degoog. Much better for my needs, more polished and add-ons like maps and calculations etc

    • Hello, I am not as familiar with AMD CPUs as I am with Intel's, but as I understand it, that's a mid-range CPU from about three years ago.  I would think it to be fine for everyday casual-type use.  A larger SSD might be better, but with storage prices these days that's a decision that has to be carefully thought about.
