Well here is some of my feedback. I really love this game, still play on BNet having tons of fun, but what killed me on my hours on play on this game is a certain bug. They have claimed to fix the SP bug where it is not suppose to show that message about the previous version of SC II and etc.. Due to that I had to start my SP over 3 times! So I got tired of that and havent finished the SP..

I am starting to seriously hate this game. i was looking for Warcraft 3 play style, everyone amasses huge armies and then chaos ensues. But every. single. match I've played in Starcraft II I've been rushed. It is not fun at all. I'll be enjoying myself at first, working on getting an army up then i'll be hit by a unholy amount of units not even 5 minutes into the game and if i happen to survive it they will already have more on the way. Is this seriously all this game is? 5 minute matches of who can rush the best?

no... most of my games go on for at least 15 minutes

maybe 1/10 games i've played end in a rush

Still, 15 minutes is not long at all. I am looking for large, awesome battles of a ton of troops. Not where everything is decided in the first few minutes.

if you want a long macro game you're going to have to force one

play very defensively and tech up or contain him while you expand

That is because most players have adopted the same style used in the beta (and original SC, quite honestly), which is rush-based. My only win in my nine placement matches in the beta was against a fellow defensive player (he was playing as Zerg vs. my Protoss) and became a nearly one hour slugfest where the only unit I *didn't* use was the Mothership (which I had queued up, even though I was chewing up his base with an AirLand assault - I had thrice tried before and got shrugged off by his defenses).

Yes - the link to the demo above is real (downloading it as I type this). If it's anything timewise like the WoW demo, I can kiss most of the next week goodbye.

It's better...skirmish has no time limit, and you have the first three missions of the single-player. You can also upgrade to the full game from the demo (like Burnout Paradise, which offers the same option).

Well, you're supposed to stop the rush. I haven't played in a while, but most matches were either 10 - 15 minute affairs, or lasted closer to an hour. WC3 was designed to be a slower game (with the creeps and heros), while Starcraft is (and always has been) about intel and resource collection.

Often times, early unit availablility is offensive, not defensive (in short, the better rush-stoppers are in the middle and later ends of the tech tree) which is why you are vulnerable to being rushed. (This is more true of the Protoss, and even the Zerg, as opposed to Terrans, where you CAN deploy Marines, and even Firebats, defensively - the third mission in WoL, in fact, requires you to deploy Marines and Medics in both defensive and rapid-response modes. Playing as the Zerg pretty much forces you to rush.)

You can read the patch notes here: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/2053470#blog

It says that the flux vanes upgrade was removed for Void Rays. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. If the speed upgrade is applied as soon as a Void Ray warps in, then it's good. If Void Rays can't move any faster, then it's bad.

They've also added an extreme graphics option.

They're just standard speed now with no speed upgrade, personally I don't mind the change (I play Protoss) especially considering they also had a damage buff.

Getting a little speed bump would have been nice. Like some 30% of what the upgrade was giving.

Hey all is anyone still playing cause I know alot of you disappeared. Well

I started gaming again and i'm almost at my 1000 Terran wins, unfortunately alot of my friends already surpassed me.

I have one friend who has all 3. In the 2 months. If anyone wants to game im on till 9pm EST. So time varies.

There's a rush and then there's an all-in, two different things.

Rushes, you can expect them pretty much all the time. Learn to scout, plan for it, and you'll be fine. Or just rush yourself. The goal of a rush is not to end the game, but to put pressure on the opponent so that he's forced into making units and thus slow down his economic development.

You have to consider that your opponent has invested a lot in making this attack. He needs to do more damage than what his force costed him in order to gain an advantage. As long as you keep the damage done below a certain threshold, you actually gain an advantage through your opponent's rush.

An all-in is an attack designed to end the game now. If it fails, the attacker loses the game (because he lost too much to recover), if it succeeds, the defender loses. All-ins are common but nowhere as much as rushes in general; they typically involve one-base play and sending several workers as part of the attack. All-ins are annoying because as you said, they deny the possibility of a long-term game. However, if you scout for it, it's usually quite obvious, and by planning your defense appropriately, you're pretty much guaranteed a win as long as your opponent carries through with the all-in.

I haven't been on for months and I was curious about the overheating issue, have they fixed it or is it still there?
No, but it never really was an issue with SC2. A lot of games render menus at full speed, SC2 is just so popular that it exposed many overheating issues with dusty or improperly cooled video cards than other games did.

Agreed. It only became an issue because a lot of people probably idled at the menu and went nuts after their video card's fan started spinning up at full speed.

Just letting you guys know the Beta custom games for Aiur Chef, StarJeweled, and Left 2 Die are up. Go to your custom games to find them. I really wish Left 2 Die had 4 player co-op though, however it was really fun!

    • draw.io Desktop 30.2.6 by Razvan Serea draw.io desktop is a downloadable security-first diagramming application that runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools. Search for shapes, including in open-source icon libraries. Use our vast libraries of shapes and templates, organised into logical categories, to create a range of diagrams and infographics.
