Did anyone watch IPL? Much more polished than NASL, and

my favorite player won

. Awesome casters and very tense matches, loved it from start to finish. Can't wait for season 2.

IPL was awesome!

Idra is a beast!!

the only reason i'm not really a fan of NASL is because i don't like getorp and incontrol as casters

like after 3 or 4 games, i get tired of hearing getorp say "indeed" as a response to everything and "indicative" when talking about every build order

For any who might have missed it: episode 37 of The State of the Game featured a heated debate between Day[9] and Idra, which already generated hundreds of pages of discussion on all SC2 forums. IIRC it starts between the 40 and 50 minute mark.

My personal stance on SC2's flaws is that one-base play is made too powerful by the new mechanics, which makes the early game too volatile. Scouting, however, is as difficult as in SC1, making it often feel like a coin toss for players.

What I mean by the new mechanics: larva inject boosting hatchery production from 3 to 13 larvae per minute; reactors + Mules significantly boosting Terran's early production capacities; and Warp Gates eliminating any concept of map distance.

that state of the game had so much potential

then the part where incontrol and nony where arguing really killed it for me

i can't believe how long that went on for

JP and tasteless looked like they just wanted to gtfo of there lol

It'll measure your skills in 50 unranked games. To date I haven't bothered finishing the campaign, so I wouldn't regard it as a prerequisite.

After you understand how everything works, give this multiplayer timings article a read.

Binding units (ctrl+1 to 9) and buildings (ctrl+f5 to f12) is useful to speed things up.

Have fun.

Don't know if this has been posted before but I'm gonna post it anyways:

Watch their "When cheese fails" videos. They are quite hilarious.

lol those are awesome.

I suck at online so I have not even played since I beat SP lol.

Welp had to un-install it because it kept causing kernel panics in OSX :wacko:

Which graphics card/GPU and which Mac? Also, if Snow, have you updated to 10.6.7?

I have noticed that with 10.6.7 and above, the playing field (and especially in terms of gaming) has tilted toward AMD as long as you have 512 MB or more of GPU memory *and* HD5xxx or 6xxx in the case of Lion DP2 or later.

Why is Day 9 acting like a politician and not giving a direct answer? IDra is damn point on. There is a reason why the other people on the stream are quiet....they know its true for they are not Zerg players. And people wonder why Artosis went Protoss.

Holy ****. I just played a game with some Koreans. I dunno how I was paired up with them... but god damn, 104,000 resources in 5min, Protoss Carriers in ~3min. These guys were insane. I was still building bunkers when they were going all out!

if you still have the replay file mind uploading it, cause i dont think thats possible korean player or not

Sorry, I don't have any replays. On the Starcraft Forums a carrier rush within 3-4 min (first carrier) is quite possible. Someone with over 200APM could possibly do way better. Carrier rushes are risky and Void Rays are way better.

What are you talking about? APM has nothing to do with this. You cannot mathematically get a carrier by the 3-4 minute mark.

Plyon = 25 seconds

Gateway = 65 seconds

Cyber Core = 50 seconds

Stargate = 60 seconds

Fleet Beacon = 60 seconds

Carrier = 120 seconds

Total = 380 seconds or 6.33 minutes.

Note that these are game minutes. One real-life minute is about 1.2 game minutes so that still breaks down to 5.275 real-life minutes before your first carrier comes out.

How is that even possible? They must have been feeding each other resources. And even then, it's still a little hard to believe that they could pump out Carriers in 3 minutes.

Finally made it to rank 2 in my 2v2 Gold division. The team above me are ahead by 234 points with the same number of wins. My friend and I will be happy as long as we stay within the top 8 teams. If I remember correctly, you can earn a milestone for your league if you manage to stay within the top 8 teams (or players) for your division. By milestone, I mean a reward or badge that shows up on your profile once the season ends. Hopefully, my friend and I can finally enter Platinum league (and Diamond, later on).

2v2 is a real crap shoot in terms of quality of players.

I've been playing some 2v2 with a friend to get warmed up before 1v1 matches and the quality goes up and down from match to match.

For example, in one game, we'll play against a team with our off-races and stomp them and then the very next match, we will play on-race and get stomped.

    • Zen Browser 1.21.4b by Razvan Serea Zen Browser is a privacy-focused, open-source web browser built on Mozilla Firefox, offering users a secure and customizable browsing experience. It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. • I was using searxng for about a year , self hosted, but results were starting to timeout and eventually it became unusable so I switched to degoog. Much better for my needs, more polished and add-ons like maps and calculations etc

    • Hello, I am not as familiar with AMD CPUs as I am with Intel's, but as I understand it, that's a mid-range CPU from about three years ago.  I would think it to be fine for everyday casual-type use.  A larger SSD might be better, but with storage prices these days that's a decision that has to be carefully thought about.
