p1p3
I recently started to learn guitar playing and thought I would have a go at singing as well. I already brought Learn and Master Guitar with Steve Krenz My problem is that I cant hold a tone to save my life. Can anyone recommend something similar for singing? Preferably on DVD but other mediums are also fine.
GFM
I for one know I'm not the best singer nor the worst and one thing I have to thank for that is learning to play guitar. If anything it taught me about listening and hearing different notes, which along with vocal practice you'll pick it up. I wish I could really suggest a dvd but I can't. All I can suggest is to just keep practicing both guitar and singing and you'll find your becoming more in tune with what you're doing right and wrong. ichi
Try to find a decent presential course. Besides training your ear you should also work out your vocal cords and your diaphragm, and it's a whole lot easier, safer and faster if you have someone to tell you what you are doing wrong (which at first could probably be about everything). Self taught singers quite often get their cords damaged, putting a lot of stress on them to get the tone and volume.
