There's a bug on 360 that means you can't mute someone. If you press Y and press B whilst the tab that displays your friends list, then you can't mute. If you go onto another persons card, it doesn't show up and when you press B on that the friends list comes up again. So you have to go to one of the other 2 tabs, press B and then the mute thing will show.

I don't know what happened but I can't do well in this game anymore. It doesn't matter if I camp or run around, the end result is always the same. I get killed by someone in a random manner. I have Ghost Pro and Ninja Pro with a silenced weapon so the only way I should show up on the radar is if the enemy has an SR-71 Blackbird. It's so annoying to get killed by someone who randomly decides to look at a spot while aiming down their sights. The funny thing is, it's usually people with poor K/D ratios (ranging from 0.80 to 1.20). I might just go back to Modern Warfare 2 for a little bit. :/

That happens to me a lot Anaron, you're definitely not alone. I just don't understand sometimes how people know I'm there...especially when I have Sleight of Hand Pro so I'm a fast aimer.

It's very frustrating. :|

What really Hacker Pro do?

It allows you to booby trap enemy care packages as well as steal enemy killstreak rewards and equipment (e.g. sentry gun, SAM turret, claymore, etc). It also prevents you from being detected by enemy motion sensors.

That's porbably lag or some such; getting killed when out of the line of fire or bullets disappearing seem to be a huge issues in Black Ops.

Played around 100hrs now on Black Ops.

The game is buggy, I hope they fix the knifing issues.

The way you join matches is ridiculous, you can't join rooms that have a set map or people that are in control. Maybe that way is old school now but I miss it.

Some of the random ways to die are quite annoying, but other than that I can't stop playing the game. Getting closer to Prestige lvl. 3 now :)

My 2 cents on weapon packages.

imo in terms of getting high kill streaks this is the best kit you can have.

I'd like to see other ppl's fav kits, and comment on mine :)

did anyone install the new patch (1.04) for the ps3 yet?

did it fix most of the problems the game had or did it get worst?

Got worse:

PS3 Gamers Outraged at Black Ops

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-12-15-ps3-gamers-outraged-at-black-ops

Oops - that still-warm Call of Duty: Black Ops patch seems to have amplified problems with PS3 online multiplayer.

"The retard patch 1.04" thread on the official Black Ops website has pages of dissenters sharing their frustration.

"GG [good game] to them making it a P2P game where the host gets hard freezes," posted an ironic I WTFMyself. "Such failures."

Suzuki1776 replied: "The game seems to be getting worse with each patch as far as connection issues. If you are going to be playing Black Ops a lot then get a 360. They seem to have a lot less issues than us PS3 players."

"I cant even begin to express words to describe how ****ed of I am at the hash of this game on the PS3," added an angry Saunter.

"... I am sick to the back teeth of them going on about how there going to patch the knife lunge and stupid little things like that when they wont even acknowledge the huge f*** up they've made on PS and still raked in mountains of money."

"Treyark [sic] have made a complete **** up on this one and they have ruined one of the biggest games of all time," he vented, with the caveat, "And seriously I do really like the game when I could play it."

Patch 1.04, now live, claims to "improve" matchmaking conditions for people with strict or moderate NAT types - precisely the problem many gamers now complain of.

Another of the tweaks was a "negative influencer" for spawn points, which should decrease the chance of returning to life in front of an enemy with a gun.

(All of the patch 1.04 fixes are documented over on the Call of Duty forum.)

"They killed the PS3 version," declared Eurogamer reader Astro-Creature.

"So no chance of them fixing that PS3 Alpha s*** they tried to pass off as retail then?" fumed fellow EG reader Acrid

Treyarch community manager Josh Olin has been accosted on Twitter about the problems. He, however, insists NAT problems are the responsibility of you and your router, not he and his developer.

"That means your Router has a strict NAT, causing your lag," Olin responded to an angry Triadgaming tweet.

"It's not the game," he insisted.

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
