monkey13
I understand the point you're making Sethos. It's just a difference in terms. I almost think of port as an insult to a game. Even though there are other games that are certainly ports but work very well, I then don't really think of them as ports. Would Mafia II be better on the PC if it had been a PC only title? Almost certainly. The developers will have obviously had to make changes/accommodations to develop for 3 platforms. I loved the first one and plan to have go on the demo this weekend. I'm just hoping that it's as good as the first one and not a "spiritual successor" I.E we want to get this game on as many platforms as possible to cash in. (Can you tell I'm still bitter about Bioshock/System Shock 3?)
zeta_immersion
They should stop making games for consoles ... I mean come on .. mafia looks better on pc ... and they cry like lil ******* when gamers tell them to port Halo3/ODST/Wars/Reach saying the usual BS ... Everything looks better on a PC ... (including pr0n now coming in 3D)
smiff
OMGWTFLOL! The grafix are bettr on the PC! CONSOLS SUX!!11 what exactly is the point in this? Honestly, who cares, other than hardcore PC-gamers (I know theres a fair few here) you'd be hard-pressed to find anybody who would prefer to buy a game on one particular platform because, most notably the reflection of yourself in a mirror is pin sharp*. Or is this more about proving that PC gaming is 'alive'? enlighten me. You have a 360; you get the 360 version, you have a PS3; you get the PS3 version, you have a PC; you get the PC version. I've never got this geeky "Lets find the faults in the other platforms so we can snigger at them. Together." attitude. It's pathetic. *yes, I know there are a few more examples

smiff
What if you have more than one platform? Get it for all three - then compare them graphically to see where you wasted your money. Or, just get it for either - and not be swayed by slight graphical changes from platform to platform. Any one say any thing about consoles sucking? People have just been rating what they think of the video. I find your post and attitude pathetic. No, you're right - nobody said anything about consoles sucking. It always ends up like that though, once the PC-fanboys arrive. Why is my post and attitude pathetic? because you don't agree?

smiff
Good god you lot are a touchy bunch aren't you? The "Lets find the faults in the other platforms so we can snigger at them. Together." attitude I was on about, isn't really evident here, but is everywhere else. The comparison video is symptomatic of that, which is where I was going. If I'm an angry 14 year old because I don't understand the attraction or need, then so be it. ..

monkey13
Then buy the game for the platform you want, not what others want. Yep. There are also more factors in PC vs Console (360 or PS3) than just the graphics. I just always think these videos/things are interesting to look at. Snakehn
and what computer specs do you need to make it look like that? a $2,000 PC? if i had the money i'll do that but for now i'll stick with a $300 console ;)

I don't spend a huge amount on my PC so it probably won't look that good for me. However there are a number of other reasons why I'd get this for PC. The main one being that I have never liked FPS on console (with the exception of Golden Eye which is one of the best FPS ever)
Sikh
Buh buh but the devs are lazy! Of course. It's never sonys fault. If debs were really that lazy why did valve try very hard to keep the orange box going on ps3 then said **** it, pulled out of the ps3 completely stuck to 360 and went to MAC. that just proves a company like Valve would rather make games for MAC then PS3. That should be the biggest eye opener for ps3 owners but of course its valves fault not sonys.

And also, developing for certain platforms may be more of a business/resources decision than an actual "we don't like this platform" decision

Wow, after months of getting smacked around on the PC hardware boards I see you are now in the console section spewing misinformation. Valve never pulled Orange Box from the PS3, and in fact Gabe made a special appearance at E3 to show Portal 2 and talk up Steamworks support for PSN. As usual Sikh, don't let facts get in the way of your trolling post.
Sikh
I love how you follow me around everywhere but you call me a troll. How about you gtfo? Btw I still post in hardware forums. Good assumption thou. Also, I know portal 2 is coming out but orange box was the first and last thing made by valve for ps3 before portal 2. Also I never said orange box was pulled. I said it was the test run for valve that showed that the ps3 isn't worth the effort. Also idc if gabe worked for microsoft or not, and the fact he did for 13 years and then developed steam and games for MAC shows what be truly cares about. He's not really being loyal to microsoft introducing a gaming market to apple/macs. I also never said its because "they don't like this platform or etc" my point was they gave up on ps3 and went to Mac. And for those who need an explanation, the ps3 by default is a GAMING console. MACS are never looked at as gaming machines. But, Valve put more effort Into getting steam and there mainstream games(CSS, l4d1/2, etc) working asap rather then stick to the ps3 and spend the time and research to make a game for it. Overall ps3 is still a pita to developer for or we would be seeing an influx of games, plain and simple. p.s. Btw bob if you wanna troll, gtfo please simple as that. I'm just gonna ignore you, you can feel all high and mighty because you follow me around and try VERY HARD to prove me wrong, sad thing I have never said anything to you. Have a good day ***hole.
