True, but those reqs are still really low. A system like that would have to be quite old, right? I can't even think of a card that is sold now with less than 512 mb of vram.

You might have a point there.

It says right on the page for the CE on the official website "msrp: $149.99". I was thinking about the CE before too, but at $150... that's a bit too much imo.

As for the minimum reqs: They may seem low, but when are games ever really playable(and enjoyable) at minimum reqs?

What i really want to know is.... Is that "access to all beta events" a CE only bonus? Or can the people who aren't willing(or simply aren't rich enough) to justify $150 on a single title get it with a normal pre-order? I really hope they don't shaft people by making it a CE only thing.

All pre-orders have access to all beta events.

Ah, I totally missed that, it's camouflaged into the picture.

And yes, I think all pre orders get access to the beta events, which will probably be considered an open beta anyways. Just like Aions were.

CE is $150 according to the site. My wallet hates this as my wife wants the CE too lol

Yeah, it's a little much and sadly disappointing because I have the CE for every other Guild Wars game. I was willing to go as high as $100 but $150 is a little to much.

Same as the Skyrim CE and comes with similar items.

I only ever got the Nightfall CE as originally I was unsure if I'd enjoy the game. I am getting the CE no questions asked this time though.

Got the Thank you e-mail as well, even did the whole like on the facebook page.

If the Collectors edition was <100$ I'd consider it, but the fact it's 150$ that's a bit rich for my blood. I mean, that costs more than my hydro bill for a month.

I would have gone for the CE but I'm not sure about the delivery. It could end up costing me more than $150 depending where they're sending it from. I'm going with the Digital Edition as it has some pretty neat stuff and no physical support/bonuses.

I don't know if everyone has noticed this little bit, but i'll post about it anyway for those who haven't.

From what i can gather from the faq, you have to pre-purchase(ex. pay in full right away) to get guaranteed beta access as well as the 3-day headstart. If you only pre-order(and pay later), you get no guaranteed beta access and only a 1-day headstart.

Well it's pretty clear on their website :

All pre-purchase editions include these exclusive bonuses:

  • Access to all Guild Wars 2Beta Weekend Events
  • Three days of headstart access
  • Hero?s Band

Hmm.. I would do pre-purchase if I could do 10 equal payments of 15$ a month :p That or even pay over 3 months, pay 50$ per month or something. But 150$ is a lot to just dump.

Howdy Travis,

Thank you again for visiting our office and helping us by providing feedback for Guild Wars 2. You are still on our list for receiving a copy at launch, but I wanted to make sure we got you a copy of AION in case we were out of stock when you last visited us.

Woot! Just got this in the inbox:

"Congratulations! You've been chosen to participate in an upcoming Guild Wars 2 beta event! To create your beta account and learn more, visit our Guild Wars 2 Beta Account Page. We'll see you in game!

IMPORTANT: You have to accept the terms of our Non-Disclosure Agreement in order to play in the beta. You cannot discuss the beta in any way and you cannot even mention that you are in the Guild Wars 2 beta event."

Thank you lady luck!

That's more than likely fake. People are doing it on Reddit - they're going to beta.guildwars2.com/account/done and just taking a screenshot.

If he just revealed that he's in beta, he's already broken the NDA and he'll be kicked out.

As of a couple of hours ago, the guildwars2 twitter account said that no beta invites had been sent out to members of the public yet, only press.

Like I said; Quoted the text plus image from my inbox. Broke the NDA, but wasn't stupid enough to post my information so they can't really kick me out as they don't know who I'm.

You can see that "create your account" (along with the "Guild Wars 2 Beta Account Page" above it) links to email.guildwars2.com with referral that I censored and not beta.guildwars2.com: http://i.imgur.com/YwhZM.png

    • Still 3x what it should cost. So, it seems the trick is to increase price by 6x so that a reduction in price back to 4x looks like a steal. "You savvy shoppers win again!" I'm glad I'm not in a desperate spot to actually even need this overpriced crap. Hopefully, it comes back down by the time for when (or if) I ever do.
    • Although AI is great and has it's use cases they likely have massively overhyped it and it has not delivered as per their expectations. I fully expect them to start saying the same things again when it does get to a certain level of intelligence!
    • Microsoft wants to end printer driver headaches with Windows Ready Print by Usama Jawad A few days ago, Microsoft released Windows 11 Experimental build 26300.8553, bringing a ton of enhancements such as Start menu customization, search improvements, Taskbar polish, and other minor UI tweaks. Another relatively major enhancement snuck deep within the change log was related to upgrades to the Windows printing experience. Now, Microsoft has shared more details about these benefits. For starters, Microsoft has renamed its Modern Print Platform to Windows Ready Print. The company believes that this name highlights its shift in strategy, which now focuses on modernizing, securing, and streamlining the printing experience for Windows devices. Some of the upgrades present in Windows Ready Print have already been seeded to customers and partners. This includes ending support for third-party printer drivers via Windows Update and transitioning towards the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) and the native Windows IPP printer driver. In line with these changes, new printer installations will default to Windows Ready Print on eligible devices starting from July 2026. However, Microsoft recognizes that not all environments will be able to migrate to this platform immediately, so it will allow users to choose between installing the printer via Windows Ready Print or the traditional OEM process. Users will be able to toggle this configuration through Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners > Printer preferences. This control applies only to new printer installations, and its functionality can also be modified via Group Policy as follows: Launch Group Policy Editor Navigate to Local Computer Policy -> Administrative Templates -> Printers Find and select 'Configure Windows Ready Print driver ranking' -> double click to open it Select 'Enabled' (if you wish to enable Windows Ready Print driver selection) or 'Disabled' (if you wish to explicitly disable Windows Ready Print driver selection). Select Apply Select OK Similarly, if you set up Windows protected print mode through the same setting in Windows 11, it will also default to using Windows Ready Print exclusively. Microsoft hopes that these improvements will help eradicate dependency on OEM-specific driver installation processes and simplify printer installations. We'll likely find out more about other tangible benefits in the coming months.
