That is my understanding as well. But then again if you are in overflow and so is someone else their name will appear in white as well.

Tragedy = B A D Omen. :p

No, I'm on Darkhaven.

did i group with you from /g or /m ( Blighton Greywhite Ranger, i PM'd you, said you were full, then couple seconds later an opening came out, was CM Story, tried twice to enter, got a new instance every time )

I've never done CM story or otherwise. The only instance I've ran regularly is Citadel of Flame. That's kind of odd. Also I haven't been able to play all that much the last 3 days.

Making any kind of money in this game is getting quite annoying. Most item drops have virtually no sell value aside from what the vendor gives you(which is often a near worthlessly low amount). Anything that does have any value you can't really farm cause the anti-farm code kicks in nice and quickly. You can't rely on crafting due to the aforementioned anti-farm code hindering you in getting the materials you need. And buying the materials for the crafting ain't really reasonable when you're heavily limited in how many materials you can buy due to how little money you can make.

meh.

10g a day. Although he doesn't say that but it requires a decent amount of time per day farming, probably in the 2-4 hour range. I personally do not have that many problems making and keeping my money. The key to that guys farm though is that you're not doing any one specific event or farming any one specific spot over and over thus preventing those anti-farming defenses from triggering. There are also certain sigils that can be made that sell for roughly double the material costs to make them, as well. The only trouble is the market for them might not last.

I honestly expect with all the complaints I've seen about bad dungeon drops and the general cost of things and the worthlessness of crafted items compared to the material costs to make them Anet will be buffing either how much money events/hearts give or the sell value of a lot of stuff within a few weeks. I was severely disappointed to learn that you get the same gold reward for completing Ascalon Catacombs that you do for completing Arah. That doesn't make any sense to me.

Something I don't quite get about the world achievements for completing a zone is that the rewards you get aren't specific to your class.

I'd expect them to be. They seem random? I still enjoy completing the zones because I get to see everything and feel like a completionist but I do wish the rewards were more relevant. I'd like to at-least wear some of the gear I get from completing zones.

after watching that I decided to actually get a magic find set and try it out. Im a JC'er and already had all the accessories and buying the set of armor was like 4g total, so lets see if it pays for itself rather quickly.

I'm gonna give it a try as well. I have my doubts about the usefulness of magic find but we'll see how it works out.

You will rarely get items you can use. The higher I got it seemed like items tended to be more relevant to my class but for the most part I'd already out leveled.

On the topic of map completion rewards though. I mapped each of the the borderland maps in wvwvw and the eternal battleground to 100% and for the borderlands I got level 26 items and some regular low level leather. For eternal battlegrounds I believe it was level 40 items and cotton. All in all very disappointing and if it wasn't required to get 100% map completion and the rewards you get for that weren't used in the process to getting legendaries it would totally not be worth the time it takes to do it. The loot distribution system needs a lot of work.

.Leveling up, before i knew what I was kinda doing, i stacked magic find items and man I got lots of stuff, then realized by i was really doing it wrong lol. But since I hit 80 and got the right gear set for me my drops have been really low, logged in a while ago at work to test it out and did one round of his karma farm route and got lots of drops, i also used magic find food so I had in theory 131%.

Some parts of that video are near impossible to actually get any loot from. Specifically the 2 camps at the each end of the tunnel. Everything that's not a veteran dies so fast due to all the people there that i can hardly even tag anything for possible loot.

Just spent 2 gold (only had about 6 gold total) to take my Magic Find from 34% to 84% and another 30% (and +40% gold find) for another 20s (via food), so 2.2g total to go from 34% magic find to 114% magic find. Hopefully it pays off that's a pretty hefty investment but the way I look at it, I'm not spending any of my money currently anyway so why not.

I could get more but I would have to give up one of the stats on my armor, though I got lucky and found boots with a travelers rune in them (which gives 10% magic find with just 1 rune) the other day, so I saved myself 1g on that rune alone (or depending on how you look at it, got a free 10% MF).

Yea, further messing around with it proves that video posted above is indeed useless. Too many people, no matter where you go. No loot due to no damage due to too many people. No money outside of the silver and a half from event rewards. To put it simply, the method shown above will not make you any money, any faster, than if you played the game normally.

They made a post on the o-forums (i'm searching for a link) that states they are aware of the issue and are looking into remedies to fix it.

I'm amazed at the level of detail with NPCs. Not just the conversations you can hear passing by, but also the ones where you point and click. The dialouge and stories are really great! And also the level of detail in the cities and buildings. I mean, even in the sond and third stories of buildings where no one would normally visit still look great and have little small touches that are really memorable.

I'm amazed because it seems like the majority of people just rush to level 80 without ever looking at the world around them (and then later complain that the game lacks a story or has no 'end game'). This is a game that really should be played like a regular RPG (co-op online) and not a regular MMO (grindfest).

I don't know about that. I would agree with to many people doing it but I get lots of stuff to sell, lots of blues and greens and several yellows. But on my server one of the events is bugged out and it's the one where other events start off from so it's not as efficient as it could be. I'll have to try it again later when not as many people are on and it's just the bots. And hopefully the servers get reset.

There is an event chain in Malchors Leap (the prior area) where you escort some pact troops that goes across the entire area and spawns way more creatures to kill. All in all it's something like 7 or 8 events (or more I don't remember exactly) all chained together and as soon as it's over it restarts pretty much. I think that might actually be a more efficient farm for both karma and items to sell with magic find gear. But that event chain is also bugged out on my server so I couldn't test it. :s

I didn't look but chances are that chain in malchors would be bugged on my server as well. Since the majority of escorts and "survive versus x waves" seem to be.

Got some posts "moderated" on the official GW2 forums for calling out a guy on his bull**** that patch updates were ruining his play time because he's in oceanic and they take place during the middle of the day for him. New build updates literally take like 2 minutes. It's the most transparent update system I've seen in any game...ever...pretty much.

Anyways, it was amusing to me and thought I would share. No point to this post other than that.

Edit: Apparently the patch tonight added discovery from collections. This is awesome if true. No patch notes out yet though.

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
