PS3 finally hacked?

Recommended Posts

Says the guy that circumvented Apple security to run OSX on a hackintosh. Talk about hypocrisy.

Cracking PS3 is just the same as cracking Apple security, one lets you use unsigned code like media players, emulators, etc.. the other allows you to use Apple software on non-Apple hardware.

*edit* I like how you stealthily removed your Hackintosh sig.

Thread should be merged with ps3 hacked. As many devices can deliver the payload now.

This is a rather unique device to jailbreak the PS3 with. I think it warrants its own thread, but I'll leave that for the mods to decide.

I just find it interesting that someone programmed a freaking calculator to hack their PS3. This isn't a PS3 bash thread by any means.

Every device under the sun is being used to hack the PS3, it really doesn't warrant the separate topic. Otherwise we're going to be spammed with pages on each device.

The calculator isn't a special case, it should be merged with the ongoing topic.

If a mod thinks that's the case, they will do so.

I don't get what is so remarkable, if you can program something, you can no doubt sent the data needed for the jailbrake, its not like a pen drive is some super powerful technology.

As as mentioned, this should be really be merged with the current topic, we don't need a topic for every device that will do it. :p

The only devices I've seen are a USB drive, a phone, and a calculator. Am I missing something?

The calculator is the only unique device to me, because it generally doesn't hold the same kind of data you'll see found on a computer/phone, as it's almost never compatible (and, thus, never able to be uploaded). Is that not unique?

maybe the calculator it self was jailbroken?

Depends on if your willing to put in the time to do something with another device I guess, this isn't exactly a typical calculator.

They could do it with a VCR if they want, it still wouldn't need its own topic. :p

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "typical calculator." If you mean it isn't a simple arithmetic calculator, you're right. But this is the same kind of calculator I used all throughout high school. The only unique thing about it is that you can use a rudimentary form of basic programming on it, using a programming language that is specific to the calculator. Having written basic programs for it, I find it extremely amazing a PS3 was jailbroken with it.

And I disagree. If they could do it with a VCR, it would most definitely deserve it's own topic (even moreso than this deserves its own topic) given the way a VCR operates.

Then maybe someone can hopefully do it on a VCR so we can have another topic on it. :p

    • Sound Booster 1.13 Build 575 by Razvan Serea Increase volume on your laptop. Boost the volume of even very quiet speakers. Raise volume above maximum. Letasoft Sound Booster can be used as an extra amplifier when the volume of the program you are listening to is too low for comfortable listening and you feel that your PC’s speakers can produce a louder sound. This can be the case when the audio or video has been recorded at the level below normal. Or, for example, when the other person’s microphone you are talking to on Skype, is not working properly. There can be a plenty of other reasons why the sound is being too quiet and there is not much you can do about it except buy external speakers. Sound of any application that is being played in the system can be amplified up to 500%. Letasoft Sound Booster can raise volume of programs like web browsers, on-line communication software (Teams, Discord, Zoom), any kind of media player or games. Simply put, volume of virtually any program that can play any sound in PC, can be boosted to a comfortable level with Letasoft Sound Booster. You can control current volume with the pop-up slider from the system tray. Alternatively, you can assign system-wide hot keys for increasing and decreasing, and use them when you need to adjust volume Letasoft Sound Booster constantly monitors current gain level and prevents samples from clipping, thus reducing all major sound distortions. • I own these and the normal QuietComfort ones from Bose. The QC are amazing and I want to love these, but for the life of me, I have a terrible time getting them attached to my ears.
    • Thanks for the tip. I am giving it a try. Initial quick impression: I like it.
