Bloomberg

Social Scout

Appointile - lists the next 4 events in your calendar

Photosynth for Windows Phone 8 finally lands in the Store.

You can try and download Photosynth here in the Windows Phone 8 Store. If you don?t see it, just grab a coffee and come back in a few hours.

WebApps is probably single best recent addition to Windows Phone. It basically wraps web sites into chromeless apps and you can pin individual web sites as if they're apps.

Get it here: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/webapps/49e97b4c-7715-4103-8519-066244fc9e2f

Thanks for the heads up I am going to try Acedia over the weekend. What are your thoughts so far?

Only played a few minutes before I died, weirdly by just walking towards a lady in black..... or maybe she was an evil ghost...

Very smooth on Lumia 710, controls are ok, bit difficult to control where you're looking while walking, walked through 4 rooms and hallways, and every one of them looked identical and empty, but like I say I only played a short time, so might change further on in the game

For free, can't go wrong

Earlier today Miniclip dropped the price of their Windows 8 and RT versions of iStunt 2, Gravity Guy and Monster Island to free titles.

Miniclip has now added the Windows Phone 7.x/8 versions of these games to their free offer. The free offer on the Xbox Windows Phone titles is only for a limited time only. As an added bonus, the Xbox Live game Fragger is also a freebie.

So if you've been on the fence or just want to build up your Xbox Windows Phone gaming library, now's the time to act.

iStunt2

Gravity Guy

Monster Island

Fragger

EDIT - Fun thing I found inside the xbox live game app, if you scroll along to where your little avatar guy/gal is, then either shake the phone, or swipe the screen left and right a few times, the character falls over

If you do it a few times to him, he either pulls himself over to the other side of the screen or breaks your phone screen lol

Not sure if it was mentioned but MS's 'Where is My App' and Nokias Spotlight Social beta are an interesting to do app list they have going.  Found out Mint is actually slated for this year too.  (Though I think I'm done with them for good for dragging their feet so long)

oh hai !

Since I can't find something ? la Google Listen that is also free, I come here before you to help me in my quest of the perfect podcast app for my little Lumia 920.

P.S. : I already tried Podcast! which is very cool from a GUI standpoint but it's not free and because of that I can only store 2 podcasts that I've downloaded.

Well, (if listed) you can use the over the air abilities.  If you are looking for the Zune/WP7 synergy we all knew and loved, you're in for disappointment.  The WP8 sync app was recently updated if you want to try creating the list in Zune then importing it.

Best 3rd party I think I've used was SlapDash.

There's a new playlist wireless sync app out.

Playing Sync is an audio synchronization utility, which synchronizes Windows Media Player playlists to a Windows Phone 8 device using wireless network.

Application requires desktop component software to be installed first, which is transparent to the user, works in a background and does not require any additional configuration as well as mobile app, which automatically configures connection with remote machine during first run.

Key features

  • Configuration boils down to installing all required components
  • Synchronization over WiFi
  • Search for specific playlists or songs in collection
  • Synchronization of whole playlist or selected songs

Requirements:

  • Minimum supported PC OS version: Windows 7
  • Minimum supported Mobile OS version: Windows Phone 8
  • PC and mobile device must be connected to the same wireless network

PC app:  http://machinized.com/playing-sync/

Mobile app: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/playing-sync/bd57ba49-3980-4ed0-94fc-54bccdf02f0e

Price is as little as 0.99$.
In trial mode synchronization is limited to one song at a time

Until MS re-adds wireless sync to WP8 like it was in Zune people might want to give this a try.

Here are some good apps for Windows Phone:

SkyDrive: Access and upload files to your SkyDrive account. It?s also used by some apps to access files, so I highly recommend installing it.

Fresh Paint: A good drawing app from Microsoft.

Nokia Cam Pro: Adjust the way you take pictures.

BBC IPlayer: Has access to episodes of programs from the last few days.

For those who are big on games and RPGs for that matter, Square-Enix has brought Final Fantasy 3 to WP.  It's a 450MB download and costs $15 but it's the best FF out of the old original ones.  Just head to the store and do a search for Final Fantasy and you'll see it, I don't have a link handy since I'm on my phone atm.

    • yup dude, ADS on this website are terrible
    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know The ONLY thing I need to know is the price, which I know will be way higher than I (and most people) are willing to pay for a phone... so basically nothing here I need to know. PS: Nice job getting that Apple reference to a non-existent and unrevealed product as "competition" in there. Cheque is in the mail.
