Its mainly a media pc for myself, games tv movies etc. I'm not really trying to look at the full screen if I'm using it for "pc" related tasks. And the plastic wrap is well, I figured why take it off. The dust looks worse to me, plus when I sell the tv for a newer model it will be that much newer heh. I know, I know...

Your TV could fall off the cabinet onto a giant sheet of sandpaper, scratching the **** out of it and it would still look better than with that plastic wrapping on there. Take it the **** off. Why do people not realise that the plastic wrap if for protecting the unit during transport, not to make it look horrible once you've set it up.

Chill out. What does it matter what someone else does with their personal belongings? If they want to leave the plastic on their TV, more power to them.

lol, I agree but I'll provide a more sensible reason why to get rid of that plastic - after a while it leaves residue behind when you take it off, sometimes it can etch into the plastic too. A somewhat extreme example - I bought a 6 year old "new" powermac that was still sealed, and was thus in a foam bag that whole time. Something in the foam basically etched the hell out of the sides of the case with a bunch of little spots. Weird, I know.

Just saying :)

I think I'd get nauseous sitting that close to a ~50" screen. Worst part is it's still 1920x1080!

Honestly the 1920x1080 isn't bad on a tv. Anything smaller and your just wanting the days of the CRT back. It may be 47in, but its not like im trying to take in the whole screen at one time. I might play MediaPC and watch a tv episode and check back at my e-mail in the background without moving a muscle. And if I want to watch a blu-ray I just slide back to the couch behind me and watch and enjoy with 7.1. Its honestly not that bad and way cheaper then buying some 30in pc monitor.

Good point, but i'd be willing to bet it was stuck in the heat vs a air conditioned house. My room gets dusty quite easily and it annoys me more to have the dust. Honestly thoe. I usually end up taking it off due to peer pressure lol. Or one of my friends comes by and says what the heck and rips it off when im not looking.

I usually sell off my equipment every year, so I don't think ill worry about 6 year stretch marks. I promise ill take it off after 1 year. ;)

lmao at the bit about a friend ripping it off.

I meant that 1920x1080 is a very low resolution on a 50" screen to begin with (I know, higher res screens at that size cost an arm and a leg, but still). That picture above just about made me spaz out - a what.. 60" LCD.. 1920x1080.. MAXIMIZED IE WINDOW.

DOUBLE FACE PALM. ONE IS NOT ENOUGH.

Of course this is not mine, but thought I'd stick it here. I think the user lost his mind with this setup!

Yea, saw that a few days ago somewhere... I very much doubt that it's real...

Not only is the amount of guns unbelievable, but the P90 on the left looks like it's got a filled magazine in it, the fourth gun from the desk also seem to be loaded as well as the rightmost one (not with a lot of bullets but still one hanging out of it), also the two rightmost guns, I doubt you are allowed to have those weapons standing in your home even with the crazy gun laws of the US :p

This is a old picture as I've got some new gadgets since then. But before I update my picture I really need another desk and do some new wire management.

There's a couple of printers in this picture (laser & wireless all-in-one), Macbook, HD TV (with DV box and DVD), couple of 24" monitors, a Kindle, 5.1 surround headset, a regular ol' 5.1 surround sound system, iPad, Nikon P100, etc...remove tag), Nikon P100 (remove tag)

Looks like someone is getting for a Zombie apocalypse... or maybe he was watching too much of Highschool of the Dead :p .

Not to mention, the lighting on the P-90, Thumper, and SPAS-12 looks... off. And if you look closely, it seems the M-16's mag looks funky when interacting with the SPAS-12's stock... Thumper too.

He is also running what looks like a very powerful setup... On Windows XP. Clearly a fake :shifty:

    • Google are hyprocrites for signing this. They have been pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft, only they do it on Android and ChromeOS.
    • In some countries the law has forced Microsoft to display a menu on a fresh install of Windows which asks which web browser you want and it will install that browser. This doesn't add any bloat to Windows. It simply an additional step when setting up a new PC.
    • Chrome is also a first party browser on Android and ChromeOS. And on those systems, Google is pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft does on Windows.
    • Unofficial script lets you install unreleased Windows 11 features without Microsoft Account by Sayan Sen Microsoft has been steadily evolving the Windows Insider Program over the years, introducing new channels and testing paths that allow enthusiasts to experience upcoming and yet-to-be-released Windows features (some interesting hidden ones too) before they reach the public. However, one long-standing requirement has remained largely unchanged as users are generally expected to enroll in the Program and with a Microsoft account. That's where a third-party tool called "OfflineInsiderEnroll" can help. OfflineInsiderEnroll is said to be a lightweight script that enables access to Windows Insider Program builds on systems that are not signed in with a Microsoft account. Essentially the tool configures the necessary Insider settings locally and hence allows users to select and switch between available preview channels while continuing to receive builds through the normal Windows Update channel. If you are wondering how it manages to do so, it is made possible by a Registry value known as TestFlags. When configured to"0x20", Windows stops communicating with Microsoft's online Insider enrollment services thus preventing locally configured Insider settings from being overwritten. This allows the script to apply its own channel configuration directly through the Registry as Windows Update does not verify whether a device has been officially enrolled in the Insider Program or not. Previously the utility has had already supported the traditional Insider branches including Dev, Beta, and Release Preview. However following Microsoft’s recent restructuring of its preview channels, the script has now been updated. The latest OfflineInsiderEnroll version, 2.6.6, adds support for the newly introduced Insider channel lineup. As such, users can now choose from several Experimental channels in addition to Beta and Release Preview options. The update also retains tools for refreshing the Insider cache, resetting Insider settings, and completely stopping Insider enrollment when needed. Keep in mind though that will need elevated privileges when running the script (run as Admin). You can get the latest version of OfflineInsiderEnroll from this page on its official GitHub repo.
    • The "Classic" Outlook has done that for a few years as well. The option to even change that is really hidden away too... It really shouldn't be hard to respect user defaults. Sadly we are the product now, not Outlook. To change in the Classic Outlook: File > Options > Advanced > change "Open hyperlinks from Outlook in"
