The game comes across to me as a single player game that just happens to have other people playing at the same time. It's not something that would justify a monthly fee for me.

Correction: It's 8 different simultaneous single player games, one for each class.

But once you've played a class, there's not much different story-wise if you play that class again. It's just replaying the game you already played, not that there's anything wrong with that, I guess, if it's incredible the first time.

but that's the same for every MMO. except this one actually tells a story as you're leveling.

I read day or 2 ago there is not mich diffrence even between any of the classes, but i only played inquisitor

The storylines are very different. Also, they're very well done.

I can't stress enough how impressed I was with the voice-acting, too.

They've got some bugs to squash before Release, but I'm greatly looking forward to

playing.

Oh, and Hutt-ball... I can't wait.

I liked the concept of huttball alot, but the games i played, nobody passed it, they just held onto it and went melee with the other team,, i didnt play anymore pvp after those few matches

I'm sure there are correlations between the Empire and Republic versions of classes, but between the four on each side, they seem pretty different.

Really enjoyed the beta weekend, was thinking of picking up KOTOR to play before SWTOR retails. Would I like KOTOR? Bearing in mind I don't like games such as Skyrim/Witcher, and I've not tried Mass Effect either if the ME series is similar to KOTOR. Could play ME briefly in Steam as I grabbed it in a deal recently.

LOL funny how that works. After finally getting to kick the tires this weekend, I've canceled my preorder. For me it doesn't even come close to living up to the hype.

You're kidding right? Unless I missed the space portion where I can fly around in a X-Wing or a TIE fighter, or where if I want I can craft player housing or those same space craft I just mentioned, it's pretty much on par with CoH/CoV except it runs worse.

Yeah I think I deliberately missed out on all the hype, so to me I'm looking forward to it. Maybe cause I was expecting to just be an improved KOTOR which it is AND more.

I enjoyed the space bits as it was nice break, but the fact it was on rails was a bit sad. You are right it should have been like a new updated version of X-Wing or Tie Fighter, and I am hoping it will become that.

The constant running to every place I need to get to is tiresome and a huge turn off for me. If there were some sort of fast travel, ala Fallout 3, then that would make the travelling perfectly fine. Once I've explored an area, I'm annoyed to have to travel through this same area, say, 10 more times because my destination keeps going from one side of Korriban to the other. I know there are two fast travel options, but one is useful every 30 minutes, the other, as far as I played, only traveled between two destinations. Both options still left me with lots of ground to run. Maybe this is typical for an MMO, doesn't mean it doesn't suck though.

That annoyance covered, I had fun playing with my Sith Inquisitor, but I can't see myself putting my anti-pay to play stance aside for this, even with as much of a Star Wars fan as I am. I know I would blow way too many hours on this (I did with Guild Wars); couple this with the fact I typically play solo and have been burned one too many times trying to play as a group and well, I guess MMOs just aren't for me.

You get a speed boost for travelling at level 14 (makes you run faster), you get access to the Taxi service once you discover each one and you get a quick travel "power" as you mentioned but apparently at level 25 you also get your own personal speeder (costs 40k to buy it though :( )

The speeder is free, its the training that costs 45k, and there are different levels of speed training like in wow. Also 45k is not that hard to earn. At level 22 I had 32k and I had already spent 5k for an extra bag slots and 5k to start the guild.

The one thing that bothers me is the price of bag slots.. WOW. Its 5k for 10 extra bag slots..then 20k for the next.. No telling what its going to be after that. I mean I know you can always send your companions out to sell greys, but a lot of the stuff I had in my bags were greens..

Yeah but Luke said in the first film that 10k could almost buy a whole starship ;) lol

Ok didn't realise the speeder was free but it was the training you paid for, thats interesting thanks :) at level 21 I had about 22k so I was on my way slowly. I also noticed the cost of extra slots, sure they are handy but WOW costly!

Economy may have changed over 10000 years :p

Wouldn't worry much about the economics atm. In beta there basically isn't an economy, only money from drops and trash.

In the actual game, you'll be selling stuff on the AH, and probably involved in a wide range of activities. Plus, well, it's not finished.

I don't, it's Mass Effect I have in Steam. I just wondered if the two were similar.

Ah, I misunderstood. Asking whether to BUY it is another matter entirely.

I guess that really comes down to whether or not it will run properly (resolution, etc.)

on your computer. If it can... then by all means get it. I still don't know if you would

enjoy it, but I don't know anyone that didn't like it. It really is an awesome game.

I thought that can't be right so I looked it up, and its around 3,653 years between SWTOR and Luke leaving Tattoine :o

I never knew it was that much!! WOW

Thanks for pointing out such a huge gap in time, its pretty crazy

.

Wow, max i had was 2-3K, but i did constantly send companions on treasury and artifact runs, so think that had a major influence on that. Bright side i had alot of blue craft options for just about every color/option it seems from crafting and reverse engenering artifice

Keeping my client patched though, in case it continues to update to the release version.

Same here, would at LEAST allow me to play for headstart and the grace perioud

    • Nvidia GeForce NOW gains support for seven more games as discounts continue by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe There's a brand-new update rolling out to Nvidia's GeForce NOW streaming service, and like every week, that means more games have received support on the platform. This week's drop has additions like Aphelion and Pro Cycling Manager 26 attached to it. Don't forget that the GeForce NOW summer sale is still active too. This limited-time offer drops the 12-month Performance membership from $99.99 to $64.99, saving members $35. At the same time, the 12-month Ultimate membership is currently going for $129.99, dropping the price by $70 from the original $199.99. Moreover, Nvidia reiterated that support for GOG single sign-in and game library is incoming this summer, joining stores like Steam, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, and Xbox. "Connect supported game store accounts and stream titles with GeForce RTX power. Games that include cloud-save functionality help keep progress intact across devices," added the company. "Start a game on one screen, pick up where playtime left off on another, and spend less time managing installs and storage space." Here are the games joining GeForce NOW's supported list this week: Embers of the Uncrowned Demo (New release on Steam, available 13) Pro Cycling Manager 26 (New release on Steam, available June 15) Aphelion (Steam) Citizen Sleeper (Epic Game Store, Free from June 18-25) Megastore Simulator (Steam) OPERATOR (Steam) Super Meat Boy 3D (Xbox, available on Game Pass) Keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via Nvidia's cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month, with extra time being purchasable in chunks.
