Installing, guess I'll just see what they have up and pick something that looks promising.

Any worthwhile communities out there? Like to see what info people have complied on the various classes to get a better feel for them. I see the main site tells ya the roles (going tank more than likely), but would like to read up on people's personal experiences to get a better grasp.

Haven't seen much yet, but there is a SWTOR Wikia Wiki and the ZAM Network (formerly Allakhazam and the company behind WoWHead) has TORHead for the item/quest/class/etc. database and they have a a portal site for SWTOR.

So 26 now. Running around grabbing missed datacrons. Took advantage of slicing while it was good. Think they took the nerf way to far. Getting cybertech up now. Market is open for all cybertech related items, need to take advantage. How's everyone else getting along in-game?

I am waiting to play the game. I pre-ordered as soon as it was available a couple months ago. I registered the product code that origin gave me and got to play some in the beta and got to play in the headstart.

I tried to set up a subscription and it says my product code has already been used. I called origin and they said they will email me a new code. I still havent gotten a new code even thought their customer support says they sent the email. I have been watching my email like a hawk waiting for it so there is no way it got sent to the spam folder. I have gone through every email in that account since before the headstart on Dec 13.

So I decided to email the SW:TOR support. They send me an email about not getting a code printed on store bought copy. I tell them its digital and they say they need evidence. So I screenshot my email with the purchase number from origin and the code to register the game (the code that the website says is already used when i try to validate it). I havent heard from either origin or SW:TOR support since Dec 24 and it was an automated message telling me they are checking into it and not to keep emailing them because all the support emails are overloading the system.

So I have paid a total of 79.99 for the game (that includes the $5.00 preorder fee) and I am unable to play or even get an answer.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the game it sounds awesome. I enjoyed the first few levels. Im gonna send them another email or two and then go play some Rift. If I dont get a new product code to register in the next couple of days Im gonna try to get a refund from Origin of at least the 74.99 digital deluxe purchase price.

I hate customer support employees. They never give 2 shiats about anything except when they can get their check and go home. I dont blame them its just the way it is.

It's probably the worst start to an MMO, support-wise. A third of the player base can't even register their codes. It's really bad. Their CS is just automated messages. And it takes 5 days for them to send the automated messages. It's a complete mess....

It's not that bad, and I've gotten all my automated messages within 24 hours. As for them not helping you since you have contacted both support and they have blown you off you can always go the route of the BBB.

So I don't know about anybody else but while I enjoyed SWTOR at first and thought it was a fairly fun experience I'm pretty much done with it. I can't really motivate myself to log-in to the game for the last couple days. I'll get some free time and think "Well I should log-in to SWTOR and play a bit ... ehhh I just don't feel like it." - The population seems to have declined a bit since launch, chat on my server was active and there were queues but now there are no queues and chat is pretty much dead. It's a shame because it seems like it's a good game. I hope it doesn't meet the same fate as all the other MMOs.

Chats still busy here. Same with population, don't get queues as much but they also raised the caps again, their now barely below hardware limits. I always see group requests and chat traffic at fleet. With local planet being less and group of people, but see others running around ( they just play not chat )

But I am also on a origional slammed server ( Anchorhead ) so I always see in the world or chat wherever iv been ( including starting planets from people still trying different class's ) was on Dhroman Kaas last night ( low level planet ) and chat and world were very active ( may have to switch to a different planetary instance from world map to see more world activity )

the queues are gone because the server caps have been raised daily since launch.

Ugh. Over 2 hours wasted trying to complete Flash Point: Boarding Party. Three Level 32 Champs that are mislabeled as Elites. We recruited a fourth person after getting our butts royally kicked, but they couldn't join us without having to restart this long quest. Bah!

I enjoyed most of the SI storyline but the dreamwalking crap got old fast and Darth Thanaton is the Keal'thlas of SWTOR seriously im not sure why they didnt get him to say "this is just a setback" he could have used it on 20 occasions...would like to play a sith sorc (went assasin) but screw dealing with that storyline again. Will have to roll republic for a force healer I guess.

Only been 50 for a cpl days but already sorta over end game, pvp is fun but yeah the end game isnt doing it for me atm, patch 1.1 looks like pvp might be even better as well as a few of the game elements so will wait and see.

Looking on torhead there's some Light III relics with 31 endurance. Wondering if anyone know's where to get them at? Would really like to upgrade my 14 endurance relic, already got the 32 datacron relic.

Don't know what faction you are on, but for Empire, there are Light and Dark vendors on the fleet that sell relics. I assume that Republic has some equivalent hub where you could find these vendors as well.

Also, check the AH. Relics are random world drops as well, so you can probably find some there.

Checked 'em the only have green quality relics. I'm looking at picking up the blue quality. And my server still in the infant stages, not many people at my level, 37, or higher atm, so AH is useless.

Hahaha, yeah. He aggravated the bejesus out of me.

I hit 50 I think a little over a week ago. Done a couple hard mode flashpoints (black talon is a joke), and I have my full set of tier 2 PvP gear. It is a really dumb system they used for that. Completely RNG based, that I happened to get lucky with guildies are not. It really sucks for tanks, cause I'm constantly pulling threat. The worst part is tier 2 PvP gear is better than the tier 1 raiding gear, so hard modes are kind of pointless for me. It has made a lot of guildies mad that don't enjoy pvp, because it is hands down the best and easiest way to get gear. I miss the quests and story, the game just drops off at 50 completely, no more story, just dailies and that is it.

I am basically hanging the game up until a major patch (maybe tomorrows?)

I didn't rush to 50 at all, I loved leveling and the story. I had two 3 day weekend from work in a row, and I was sick for both of them, sat back in my recliner and enjoyed the game for two weekends. Unfortunately, now that leveling is over, and until operations get going there is 0 for me to do. All crafting maxed, and also cybertech is useless at max level because the daily commendations vendor sells better mods and armoring for a very low amount of commendations, and most people 50 on server are gearing up through PvP, which has 2 grades higher of armoring and mods in the gear :(.

I love the game, and know it has only been out 3 weeks, ish. So it will just take time to get worked on and polished up all around. The game is there, and is awesome, but the end game definitely is not.

Ya I'm starting to pvp a lot. Only 39, I already got the entire 40 set and the pvp 38 rifle. Trying to find an artifice to get a sheild crafted. My server is really small, though there is s huge influx of lower level players. Just not that many at my level or higher. Biggest annoyance is finding skilled pvpers. Republic has very few, while threres two pvp guilds on empire side. Neither have skilled players, but when they run as premades it sucks.

Might I recommend saving the commendations. It takes 800 commendations total for one Champion PvP bag. If you are lucky, out of 20 bags you could possibly have your full pvp set. Though, I've seen some people open 40+ bags and only get one or two pieces. It's completely RNG based.

There are quite a few skilled PvPs on Rakata Mind Prison, though it is a PvP server, so that is how it tends to be. I just seem to never get on the team with them :p. I would like to think I am good, or well, you don't really have to be good, just competent enough to know how to throw a ball. It seems a lot of people have never watched or know what football is. I hate seeing people running towards the wrong goal in Huttball like it is capture the flag, lol.

Yea, been reading also the PvP set is better then the Raiding sets, so going to PvP more. hate PvP other then Huttball. Dispise the Alderan PvP with the guns.

I agree. I loved Arathi Basin in WoW, it was my favorite by far. Alderaan, something doesn't feel right. It feels really messy.

    • I'm still on Windows 10 22H2 because I didn't want to deal with all the issues in Windows 11, so I waited almost a week before installing the latest Patch Tuesday update (KB5094127), I went ahead and did it, and it was a huge mistake—ever since then, my File Explorer has seen a performance drop of about 30% when transferring large files... Once again, Microsoft has outdone itself! This update cannot be uninstalled, either through the Control Panel (via Settings) or by accessing Advanced Startup Options. The only possible alternative would be to use system restore points, but I’d have to reinstall all app and driver updates (and there’s no guarantee it would work). Or there’s the “nuclear option” of a in-place repair without losing files or apps, but even then, all my customizations would be lost! Microsoft just can’t help but mess everything up! Way to go, Microsoft! But I still don’t want your c****y Windows 11!
    • Microsoft: Windows 11 could finally solve a major issue across AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs by Sayan Sen While Microsoft has been trying to improve it, Windows 11 is definitely not flawless, as even today some issues are taking a year to publicly acknowledge. However, one area of trouble that may finally see much better results soon is graphics driver crashes. Work on graphics driver timeouts, also called Timeout and Detection Recovery (TDR), is not new as the latest WDDM 3.2 also has specific improvements regarding it. Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) version 3.2 is supported on Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2. However, with the upcoming version 26H2, TDR crash diagnosis could go to the next level as Microsoft is introducing a new DirectX 12 API feature called "DirectX Dump Files". Similar to how system memory dump files work when a system crashes or freezes or encounters any such major issue, DirectX Dump Files (DDF) will essentially record a snapshot of the GPU execution right at the moment a graphics-related crash or hang or freeze occurs, so that developers can better understand and diagnoze these TDR and timeout detection errors. The dump will be available as a .dxdmp file for analysis and it will be a comprehensive dump file generated with detailed insights about the hardware, drivers, Windows, as well as the affected application. This should be another welcome change in this department. Earlier at GDC 2026, when the technology was first debuted, Microsoft had shared more details regarding it. The company had explained how DDF is designed to gather data from every layer of the graphics stack into a single file, eliminating the need for developers to manually correlate logs from multiple tools. As mentioned above, the dump can contain a lot of useful details like GPU hardware state information such as register values, shader program counters, page fault virtual addresses, shader memory data, and command buffers. Alongside that, it also captures DirectX runtime and kernel information, including D3D objects, pipeline state objects, device error data, adapter details, and CPU call stacks. Microsoft says the feature has been built around two primary use cases: retail device removals and local device removals. The former allows developers to collect crash information from end users' systems in the field, while the latter helps QA teams and developers investigate issues on test machines. Developers will also be able to include up to 2 MB of custom application data through new D3D12 APIs, providing additional context for troubleshooting. In addition, Microsoft is introducing three dump collection modes ranging from zero-overhead capture, which has no runtime performance impact on supported hardware, to higher-detail modes that collect more vendor-specific debugging data. On compatible Tier 2 hardware, zero-overhead dumps will be enabled by default, meaning developers may begin receiving useful crash diagnostics without making any code changes. The table below explains the three tiers: Tier Description NO_OVERHEAD Enables crash capture with no runtime cost and is suitable for broad deployment MEDIUM_OVERHEAD Provides a balance, capturing additional diagnostic data with moderate impact HIGH_OVERHEAD Collects the most detailed GPU and driver state available, enabling deeper investigation at the cost of higher runtime overhead In terms of availability, the company expects broader release to be around the fall of 2026, which should be right around the time when Windows 11 version 26H2 lands. Right now, DirectX Dump Files are available as a preview and currently, only AMD has the compatible AgilitySDK Developer Preview driver version 26.10.07.02. You can find the official announcement post here on Microsoft's website.
