Have been playing as a sage on and off since launch. Whilst it seems like itll be a great raid healer (played priest, shammy, druid and hunter in wow) it doesnt seem much fun in pvp. think ill reroll a more pvp toon. any suggestions?

btw i may be completely wrong. Just the impression i got

Might I recommend saving the commendations. It takes 800 commendations total for one Champion PvP bag. If you are lucky, out of 20 bags you could possibly have your full pvp set. Though, I've seen some people open 40+ bags and only get one or two pieces. It's completely RNG based.

I purchased my 40 set back at level 23. And have half a set for Aric and over 500 merc commendations already. When I can snag 100~ a match, i'm not to worried. Only wish that Merc commendations didn't cap at 1000.

And anyone else experiencing crashing? The game crashes, I get no error report or anything of the sort. It's like I hit alt F4 or hit the close button w/o actually performing either action. It's weird, has happened twice both in Huttball.

My server is officially dead, and it started off having queues (Though not as bad as some of the other servers.) - Nobody in the mid-level zones and very few people in the max level areas. Well I'm assuming it's just my server anyway. My co-worker that just hit level cap and on the same server as me is having a hard time finding people to do anything. Oh well. I'm thinking about trying a different server.

I'm playing Imperial Agent Operative at the moment, and i'm level 15 or so, but i find that operative has no synergy. I'm supposed to be melee and stealth, but i only have 2 or 3 abilities for melee, i might as well just stay behind cover and keep using my basic Imperial Agent abilities.

You can join us on Rakata Mind Prison - Imperial side. About 70 members in guild, and we are pretty tight knit. Usually around 10-20 members on at a time.

At 50, as an Assassin, there are not enough action bars for my abilities. Like you said, you are only level 15, through leveling you will get many, many more abilities. When you hit 30 or 40 it won't be this way.

I agree. I loved Arathi Basin in WoW, it was my favorite by far. Alderaan, something doesn't feel right. It feels really messy.

I don't like it because of the players, they want kills instead of capturing points, so there is almost no teamwork at all. At least in huttball because of size makes it more forced teamwork then Alderaan

I am almost 40 ( 38 I think ) looked through the skill book at trainer, and seems I only get 2 or 3 individual abilities, rest are upgrade of existing, should be fine space wise.

Are you putting all kinds of Stims on the bars and crap, as pretty much can activate those from bag because of how long they last. And only need 1 medkit type at max as they all share cooldown.

As it stands now, I can remove an entire bar from use, as there is ALOT of space ( that I use as ability group spacers ) doubtfull I get a whole bar full of abilities in 10 levels especially since majority are upgrades of existing abilities

I only have 4 open spaces left on my bars. The only things that are not my abilities/essential (trinkets/relics) are my speeder, Throw Huttball, and Quick Travel (though Throw Huttball could be considered essential, and I consider my speeder to be :p). Granted, I don't use Force Lightning, Crushing Darkness, or Lightning Charge, all that often, so that could technically be three that come off, and Thrash. I don't have medpacs or stims on my bars, though I should probably put medpacs on there, but hitting the I key and clicking them isn't to troubling. Same with expertise stims, though, I really need to find a place for those, as they are quite useful for ball carrying.

EDIT: I guess saying there aren't enough action bars for my abilities was an overstatement. But it sure is close. Was just trying to convey, that, through leveling, he will get many more abilities. Can't forget that talents could potentially give you more buttons on your bars as well. Level 15 is not a good way to judge what abilities you have at your disposal. (Which is why it drives me nuts seeing level 10-16 coming into PvP. I understand you can play how you want, it just bothers me cause they don't have enough abilities to do very much in terms of control. Level 50 bracket coming soon though, so that will be nice.)

I don't remember seeing a bunch of those abilities in the skill book, especially the ones with what looks like words on them.

Weird, guess I'll have to see when I hit 50 and have same issues then.

The ones with words, are my keybinds. They say like "C+R" (Control key plus R key) or "MB5" (Mouse Button 5). That is mainly where I have run out of "room." I have nothing more I can bind that is comfortable. My entire mouse is bound, even with shifts and control keys, and stuff that I can easily hit with my left hand. Too many abilities, not enough comfy keybinds :(.

What all do you have bound as that may be why your out of room as if it's bound to a key why is it on the bar, that's what they key is for

It binds it by where it is at on the action bar, not what it does when you strike that specific keybind. Like in the keybind menu, Left Quickslot 12 is Shift+B. When I use it, it uses Recklessness, as that is the move that is there on the bar. If I move, lets say, a trinket onto that slot, Shift+B would use the trinket, instead of Recklessness. It is not possible to bind an ability that is not on the action bar, as that is where it gets the command to use the ability, when it is in that slot.

So if you bind a key it puts it in the action bar, but it only references something else in another action bar essentially creating a second button for 1 ability ?

Playing a Jedi Knight Guardian on Ludo Kresh, and I'm absolutely hooked. Currently at 40, so 10 long levels to go...

It's a very social game; you get a LOT more out of it if you play with a group of friends. We have me as the tank, a mate as a sage healing then a JK dps and a trooper dps.

Yes it's a lot like WoW, but it's an MMO so they all have a lot of similarities.

It's missing an LFG tool, and the chat interface isn't as useful as WoW. Also I don't like that you can't scale the UI.

Not done any PvP so can't comment on that.

I like how the crew skills are companion based, but they're very expensive so I've had to stop crafting until I get my new speeder skill.

So if you bind a key it puts it in the action bar, but it only references something else in another action bar essentially creating a second button for 1 ability ?

Kind of. Essentially it is the same as your numbers keys, the default you start with. Those are also considered keybinds, 1 through 9, 0, and the equals key. How it puts your abilities there first on the first action bar. Adding keybinds, is just adding more buttons to different bars, so you don't have to take the time to use your mouse and click abilities. It makes for faster, more efficient gameplay.

I agree would is faster, just sounds like it makes you go through bar spaces faster also.

I tried to keybind auto walk, couldn't get it to work, makes sense kinda as I didn't have auto walk on the bar to begin with, not really worth either, I'll just keep it to num lock instead of a mouse button

Yeah, some game functions are pre-programmed with a key, but abilities are not.

I put mine on the tilda key (~), it is quick and easy to hit, and Shift+tilda key is to "mount" up on a speeder. Try those!

So, I made the grave mistake of stepping into the SW:ToR forums. Worst idea I have ever made. I just saw a post where some advice could be given, so I did and got tore to shreds. I forgot how unforgiving and painful MMO forums could be, and the people are heartless to others.

I think my brain has stopped hemorrhaging for now. I'm going to stick to here from now on for public forums.

so for some reason my FPS have gone to CRAP now!! During beta I was fine, but over the past week or so my FPS has gotten to the point I can't even play the game. I try to cast a heal and the lag is so bad it takes forever for the spell to actually cast. Its not my internet on the lag I know that, its something to do with the game..

sucks too, I was really getting into my Sorc healer.

When the game was released I also had FPS problems that were not around during beta.

My Fixes:

-Removed shadows. (I don't have a great setup and would rather have my game perform than look good.)

-Run as administrator. (Set at the launcher shortcut. Probably does nothing, but can't hurt)

-Disable Visual Themes. (Found on the compatibility tab in the shortcut's properties)

-Disable desktop composition. (Found in the same tab. Both of these "disable" fixes I found during my own hunt for performance tweeks)

-Lastly, I disabled with Windows Aero theme (Windows 7) - it robs cpu/gpu performance, and I really did not like it anyway.

I did all of these fixes at once and noticed a drastic improvement in FPS.

You may want to try them one by one to see which one is most effective.

funny thing is, I did all those just the other day and now I am running on High settings with 40-60 fps most of the time. It dips to 20-30 sometimes in cities and such, but still when I am on the Fleet ship, it fluctuates from 5-20

I'm not a fan of MMO's or the "Pay for the game, then pay every month just to play" model at all, so take this as you may, but a coworker convinced me to try this out. I told him I'd try it for a month and then see after that. My thoughts:

Game is OK. I've spent more time running around back and forth then I think I ever have in any other game. I'm 4 levels away from getting a speeder, but really? it's like a MMO lord of the rings movie, just run/walk everywhere. My biggest complaint is the graphics. I'm not expecting frostbite 2/BF3/Crysis (although I'd be the first in line to buy it if it was that good), but MMO's like WOW, SW:TOR, they just look cartoon-y.

I will say this though, if you can get people to do quests/missions with you, it makes it more interesting/fun working together, but running around with my companion killing enemies that are just going to respawn 30 seconds later gets kinda boring. If they upped the graphics a lot more, and through more taxi points in, I might hang around longer. Been playing as an engineer classed sniper. The worlds are enormous though, which is a good thing. Space travel, however, is lacking as well. I wish you could actually fly around, or control when you went to hyperspace, and the cobat is lame. Camera/ship move for you, you only have a limited range of movement and can't fly around free-space like you could in say...Privateer.

I know it's only a month old, so we'll see what they do to patch it up, but I don't think it's going to get 200% better or anything.

The graphics are fine, more than fine. animations are nice, and the cloth sim is better than anything I've seen in any other game.

The models are also high res, the textures less so but that's being fixed (the high res textures are there, but disabled during regular gameplay for now. what many people consider bad graphics is actually the cartoony style of the game. But if you actually look at the models they are high res as far as the meshes, unlike that other game peopel keep comparing to that has 3 sided trees and crap.

why choose cartony stylized graphics over more realistic ? because cartoony scales better, and because Stylized lasts, look at that other game, with small engine upgrades it still looks decent today. then look at EQ2 that's just as old or SWG, both went fro realistic graphics and looked awesome at launch, but look at them today, despite lookign better than they did at launch, they now look worse than WoW. Realism just doesn't age well.

    • Rufus 4.15.2393 Beta 2 by Razvan Serea Rufus is a small utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives, such as USB keys/pendrives, memory sticks, etc. Despite its small size, Rufus provides everything you need! Oh, and Rufus is fast. For instance it's about twice as fast as UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer or Windows 7 USB download tool, on the creation of a Windows 7 USB installation drive from an ISO (with honorable mention to WiNToBootic for managing to keep up). It is also marginally faster on the creation of Linux bootable USBs from ISOs. A non-exhaustive list of Rufus supported ISOs is available here. It can be especially useful for cases where: you need to create USB installation media from bootable ISOs (Windows, Linux, UEFI, etc.) you need to work on a system that doesn't have an OS installed you need to flash a BIOS or other firmware from DOS you want to run a low-level utility Rufus 4.15.2393 Beta 2 changelog: Add RISC-V 64 support to UEFI:NTFS Improve the guards for using the "silent" option Improve the ability to cancel during write retries Improve progress reporting for compressed image extraction Fix unrestricted XML entity expansion and integer overflow in ezxml parser (courtesy of @esadowski4) [GHSA-55r2-34wg-8mv9] Fix "silent" Windows installation failing at 75% in most cases [#2960] Fix a crash during boot when using UEFI:NTFS on Snapdragon X based ARM64 platforms [#2934] Fix the first WUE option always being checked by default [#2965] Fix an infinite loop when using Windows ISOs that contain multiple WIMs Fix "Enable runtime UEFI media validation" checkbox not always being properly enabled Other WUE improvements/fixes for OneDrive removal and username validation (with thanks to @christian8641) [#2984, #2991] Download: Rufus 4.15 Beta 2 | 1.9 MB (Open Source) Links: Rufus Home Page | Project Page @GitHub | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • Tixati 3.43 by Razvan Serea Tixati is a free and easy to use BitTorrent client featuring detailed views of all seed, peer, and file transfer properties. Also included are powerful bandwidth charting and throttling capabilities, and a full DHT implementation. Tixati is one of the most advanced and flexible BitTorrent clients available. And unlike many other clients, Tixati contains NO SPYWARE, NO ADS, and NO GIMMICKS. Tixati portable version is meant to run on a USB flash drive or other portable media. It stores all its configuration files in the same folder as the executable binary files, and all file paths are stored in a format relative to the program executable folder. It is important you do not delete the "tixati_portable_mode.txt" file within the executables folder. This file is what triggers Tixati to run in portable mode. (The executable binaries are actually the same as the standard edition binaries.) When running the portable edition from a USB flash drive, especially one that is formatted in FAT16/FAT32, you may experience some lag when initially loading a new transfer. This is because initializing and allocating large files on flash-based media consumes a greater amount of time and resources compared to a conventional hard-drive. Tixati has the following features: detailed views of all aspects of the swarm, including peers, pieces, files, and trackers support for magnet links, so no need to download .torrent files if a simple magnet-link is available super-efficient peer choking/unchoking algorithms ensure the fastest downloads peer connection encryption for added security full DHT (Distributed Hash Table) implementation for trackerless torrents, including detailed message traffic graphs and customizable event logging advanced bandwidth charting of overall traffic and per-transfer traffic, with separate classification of protocol and file bytes, and with separate classification of outbound traffic for trading and seeding highly flexible bandwidth throttling, including trading/seeding proportion adjustment and adjustable priority for individual transfers and peers bitfield graphs that show the completeness of all downloaded files, what pieces other peers have available, and the health of the overall swarm customizable event logging for each download, and individual event logs for all peers within the swarm expert local file management functions which allow you to move files to a different partition even while downloading is still in progress 100% compatible with the BitTorrent protocol Windows and Linux-GTK native versions available Tixati 3.43 changelog: Several major DHT improvements Added several screening heuristics to filter malicious DHT nodes, prevent Sybil floods Rewrote DHT search algorithms to add support for multi-path lookups Improved DHT logging, more details in several error • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.
