I live in downtown Milwaukee along the main stretch of bars and the streets are filled with people screaming their asses off. There's a nice brigade of cops keeping them all in line. The local newspaper came over and handed out some of the "World Champs" newspapers for tomorrow. Party on!!!!

Party on dude. Over here in PA, there is a strange stillness in the air....

You guys put up one hell of a game. We were all biting our nails on the edge of our seats that whole second half.

Oh noes! Vuvuzelas have started. :pinch:

I disagree with the majority of Packers assessments.

I didn't think they were the better team at all. The Steelers (see: Quarterback) had

two terrible throws that turned into interceptions. HIS two mistakes cost them that

game. It was by no means an embarrassment for the Steelers as a whole.

Agreed. If it wasn't for the turnovers, the Steelers would have ran away with it.

So basically if our defense didn't play as well to force these turnovers, then we would've lost the game....got it.

With Woodson and Driver down and out I honestly didn't think the Pack would hold on to win. With some 6 dropped passes it certainly looked like things were going downhill for a bit but the defense eventually hung on. Way to go Packers, just wish I was with the rest of my family back in WI, celebrating this victory.

Exactly. Without our Defense he wouldn't have thrown those interceptions, so we caused that. We have a lot of injuries and with what the Packers did today with those injuries, imagine them next year with everyone healthy! :D

Fantastic game, glad I stayed up to watch it (finished around 3:30am UK time for any of you in North America wondering). Didn't expect it to be so close at the end after the way it started. Steelers did great to pull back as much as they did, but Packers did deserve the win. :)

I know this will probably **** a lot of you off, but I don't understand how you can sit through such a dull game? The first quarter (all I could bear) took 45 minutes to complete... so many interruptions, commercial breaks, time outs... And most of the players wouldn't last 5 minutes in a Rugby game, 5 seconds of running and they were out of breath! I'd like to see them try doing that for 40 minutes!

:shifty:

Nah, not for me.

Hmmm, Superbowl or 6 Nations rugby? The rugby wins hands down - much more of an exciting game to watch.

Troll elsewhere.

Awesome game. We've been spoilt the past 4 years.

And put a rugby player in with 350lb linebackers, and he would have a concussion in 5 seconds. Any wide receiver or running back would run circles around any rugby player, period.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about, so you might as well stay inside your "world"...

Did it get more interesting the second half when the Steelers made somewhat of a comeback? I fell asleep towards the end of the second quarter

Three of the Packers' big players got hurt and didn't return for the second half, so the Steelers put on the pressure and caught up. I think they were within 3 points at one point.

My heart was racing throughout the 2nd half until the incomplete pass to seal the game.

i actually enjoyed the game(highlights :p), was actually surprised to see such a high scoring game with such strong defenses. Shows how good both QB's were.

Troll, also union is just a tad above gridiron in boringness. Especially teams form northern hemisphere.....who rather grind metres then use their backline.

Wrong, possibly depending on the type of rugby.

I gotta say that was an interesting game to watch, so many passing yards. The defensive teams put up a great fight on both ends, the Steelers were consistent all night in D and Matthews just kept hammering it home for the Pack. The stats weren't great for the Steelers tonight and those really poor turn overs at the hands of O is what brought them down. It was a good game and if O had tightened up a bit they just might have won.

    • Bluesky COO warns social media regulations could destroy competition from small startups by Paul Hill Fears that increasing government control of social media risks regulatory capture by the biggest social media firms were raised again recently. Bluesky’s chief operating officer said in an interview that social media bans for children and tighter regulations for social media firms risk creating a world where there are only a few social media platforms run by companies with the deepest pockets. Regulations on social media firms have been very lax since they appeared for mainstream users in the 2000’s. This gave Meta, Snapchat, and Google time to build up their user bases and get entrenched, with Meta being the most successful. Now that Meta has succeeded, it has been attempting regulatory capture. By pushing for more regulations of social media, Meta hopes to make it more difficult for rivals to challenge it. For its part, it doesn’t need to worry about the cost of regulation because it has a lot of money to spend, whereas startups do not. Speaking to CNBC, Rose Wang, Bluesky’s chief operating officer, said: “I support the protection and the safety of youth, the question that we have then is at what cost, because essentially what I’m scared of is in the long term, we’re headed to a world where there’s about three to five platforms, and extreme heavy regulation of those platforms, and basically the whole compliance teams of these platforms are 10 times the size of our entire team. So, basically, we’re living in a world where it’s almost impossible for smaller entrants to come in and build healthier spaces. These platforms have led to a place where the bottom line is the thing that drives what they do... so I understand why governments have to step in and regulate, because the platforms have done nothing right.” She said that while she is not against regulation, there needs to be more channels between the small to mid-sized players and regulators to help protect them. She says that big tech players, on the other hand, “who we know are circumventing regulation,” need to be regulated. Essentially, the Bluesky position is one of nuance, rather than absolutes. While Bluesky’s proposal may preserve competition in the social media space, it still doesn’t address the massive privacy implications these age verification measures introduce, such as handing over sensitive identity documents to access age-gated content.
