So I will try to find something to fix this (although it doesn't really annoy me).

Leave it the way it is. It looks fine. You don't have to have feedback when something is highlighted. I used to do that with previous win versions - highlight color and 3d object color were the same. You get the ballon tips thingies as enough feedback for those who want it (sorry, I just woke up ;)).

well, like dazzla said, the icons are far from complete anywhere online, but i was working on a iptheme this morning, and had to create a bunch of icons for it, i might continue with it, might not, i have a LOT of folders and stuff to create for the damn thing, but we will see...

Schmoove, I know you're all for IP, but is it worth the investment? I tried SD software like 3 years ago and hated it... but then again, I haven't played with a shell32.dll yet, so I guess alt way's of changing icons (aside from manually) are welcome. Any issues from you guys using IP? If you can get this thing done, I think I might have to break down and give it a whirl - since everything else with this theme (and additional skins) rocks.

The thing with IP is that it doesn't change every single icon ofcourse like a Shell32.dll can do.

There are not enough icons to compile a decent Shell32.dll I think, even putting together an IP theme is a bitch.

Well I'm nearly finished with it and it is looking good I think.

Personally I prefer something like IP or IconPhile instead of a shell32.dll. It is easier to switch between themes that way.

Still waiting on Jimmac's permission, but if you'ed like a teaser, there's a screenshot on my site under the skinz section. :)

offtopic: you are using the same forumskin as i, i really need to work on a new one so it isn't so generic, you are the first site i have seen to use the same one, although i am sure there are lots more

@schmoove: Is the Ximian set near the completeness of Korilla or BlueCurve or are you having to create additional icons for the XP-varient of the set?

@vidar: *drool* I hope hope hope Jimmac gets back to you on the permissions. That is looking TIGHT! And that should be compatible with XMMS as well, so I should be able to use that on the linux side of my box! :D :hop: :hop: :hop:

offtopic: I went ahead and nabbed the 2.12a Public release of IP. It seems pretty good/stable - a helluva lot better than a couple years ago for sure. I loaded the Korilla set as a test (I've heard many speak of the completeness that set has). It seems to be pretty decent. I guess, as you said, it's easier that playing with DLL's and I can live with some change (if not a complete one), since I've gotten sick of the default icon set. What's the different between the public and paid-for versions of IP? anything?

The paid version doesn't have the nag-screen.

(hint, eMule has the latest)

My BlueCurve IP package was 100% complete. I will not release the Ximian set if it is not 100% complete AND looking good. Well I'm nearing completion, only have to make a couple of additional folders, the rest is done (AND looking good).

@Vidar: it is GPL so technically you can release it as long as you credit Jimmac. Though asking him for permission is the decent way to go. I'd say wait a week and if he doesn't respond just release it. Then if he has problems with it afterward you can always work something out.

I hopped over to your BlueCurve set - It fits pretty well with Ximian - and I'm amazed! :D

Just a thought - you might want to link, on the frontpage along with the Y'z and XMMS skins, links to the WMP and Trillian Pro skins for any late adapters (it's amazing what I think of when I've been awake for less than 10 minutes).

Hrm. I don't know what to say. I reuploaded the file, downloaded it myself. Works fine - possibly a corrupt wsz/zip?

The scrollbars fixed. The grabber isn't 100% accurate as I can't put the full :-:-:-: on there. Could only fit a -:-:-:- .

Skin works here :) Very nice, blends in more than the MacOSXGraphite skin I was using before :)

A few suggestions for a future version though:

- Could you make a title for the playlist window, like in the main window (ie, playlist centered)?

- An icon of some sorts where the Winamp lighting bolt normally is (I click there to get to the media library)

- A different selection color for the media library window (it makes it impossible to read the selection on my machine, see attachment)

I couldn't reckognize the font on the main window, so I didn't add the title - plus, there isn't a title on the original XMMS skin.

Hrm. It shows up blue on my system (see attachment). Try redownloading. If it doesn't help, or if others are having this problem, let me know. I'll delete and make a whole new zip. Don't know why its being weird like that :(

Will fix, its merely a matter of coloring a single pixel on the map.

As to the icon, I was thinking that to.. but there isn't one on the XMMS skin so I didn't include one. Maybe the Ximian monkey like my Gorilla skin?

Sorry Schmoove. I use WInamp 2.91 (as .95 isn't final yet). I'm assuming its looking at the wrong pixel in genex.bmp. I've deleted the file off the server and created a whole new zip (35.9KB not 35.6KB) which hopefully will remove the error. The only other thing I can think it might be is if you are using a lower color depth (16bit rather than 32?) and its substituting the color for something lower.

I've attached the genex as a "patch/test". If *it* looks green, then I know where our problem lies. If it looks blue -- its a programming bug in .95.

I'm using 2.95 as well so it's probably a difference in that version :( I'm using 32bit color here.

I downloaded it again from your site, and now instead of just a green bar, it's a blue bar now.. So it's slightly better. :p Perhaps how Winamp 2.95 reads the font color has changed also (so instead of being white, it shows up as blue like the bar)?

Schmoove: love the new color schemes :)

Nice color additions Schmoove.

Shanemca - Try this. Open the Genex.bmp. The line with the singular pixels, try filling them in one at a time with white, putting the genex back in the zip (wsz = zip disguised) and see which pixel .95 is using for the font. I have .91 installed so I can't do it myself and get the result. Heh.

    • With Microsoft now listening to its core audience and acting upon received feedback, fans can finally expect a much better version of Windows 11 than what was available five years ago. Here is to five more years, Windows 11! I guess we all need a good laugh now and again...
    • Amazon Prime Day 2026 deal sees Samsung Odyssey 49" 240Hz QD-OLED monitor at lowest price by Sayan Sen Earlier today we covered a very good deal on JBL's BAR 800 Dolby Atmos soundbar system as the unit is available for just $600 as part of Amazon Prime Day 2026 deals. That's not all though as there are many more discounts to choose from. If you are looking for a high-end monitor, Samsung's 49 inch G9 QD-OLED gaming monitor is a solid deal too as it's currently just $855 (purchase link under the specs table down below). It is a super-ultrawide (32:9) 1440p curved gaming monitor and as such should offer a very immersive experience. The G93SC is a 49-inch QD-OLED (Quantum Dot OLED) screen and that means it should have excellent contrast as well as color reproduction. Brightness is a bit lacking though so if you are looking to set it up in a relatively bright room, you may be better off with something else. Speaking of external light and brightness, the major difference on the G93SC vs the newer G93SD is that the latter comes with Samsung's "Glare Free" technology to reduce glare while the C model packs a glossy finish. The technical specifications of the Samsung G93SC are given in the table below: Specification Value Panel Type OLED Screen Shape Curved Screen Curvature 1800R Resolution DQHD (5120 × 1440) Aspect Ratio 32:9 Brightness (Typical) 250 cd/m² Brightness (Minimum) 200 cd/m² Contrast Ratio 1,000,000:1 HDR Support VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 HDR10+ HDR10+ Gaming Response Time 0.03 ms (GTG) Refresh Rate Up to 240 Hz Viewing Angle 178° Horizontal / 178° Vertical Color Support 1 Billion Colors Color Gamut 99% DCI-P3 (CIE1976) Adaptive Sync FreeSync Premium Pro / G-SYNC Compatible DisplayPort 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 HDMI 1 × HDMI 2.1 Micro HDMI 1 × Micro HDMI 2.1 USB Hub 3 × USB 3.0 Speakers Built-in Speaker Output 5W × 2 Channels Operating Temperature 10°C – 40°C Operating Humidity 10–80% (Non-condensing) Stand Type Height Adjustable Stand (HAS) Height Adjustment 120.0 ± 5.0 mm Tilt -2° (±2°) to 15° (±2°) Wall Mount 100 × 100 mm (VESA) Included HDMI Cable HDMI-to-Micro HDMI Cable Included DisplayPort Cable Yes Get it at the link below: Samsung 49" Odyssey G93SC Series Curved Gaming Monitor, QD-OLED: $854.99 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US with Prime) Prime subscription can be cancelled within three business days at no cost. • Actually Windows 11 is the GUI from Windows 10 X slapped onto Windows 10. Hence the many performance issues and initial limitations of the UI, like all the restrictions on the task bar placement and features. You could not even right click on the Taskbar and bring up task manager when it first shipped. Windows 10X was truly a new OS from the ground up. Basically a lightweight OS that ran containers for various app types. Win32 got its own container. Performance was not good and OEM’s pushed back on it, but wanted a new OS to push Pc sales. Hence Windows 11. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10X
