Dear god, the lag is atrocious. I've tried 2 matches, and both i had severe rubber-banding, and i was unable to even play the game. The browser server selection is also annoying, why the heck did EA/DICE have to mess with a good thing, which was letting us choose servers in-game so we can quickly hop to another one.

Most US servers are crap for some reason. Only the multiplay US servers I've been able to play lag free. Euro servers in general seem to be in better shape, my smoothest caspian game so far was on a french server.

After a few more games on Caspian Border I gotta say... people are stupid. 3/4 of my team always end up standing around where the helicopters and jets spawn and then they don't even know how to fly so they crash in 10 seconds. And then we lose because no one is going after capture points. Iirritating as hell. I would like for DICE to do something about this, but they can't patch the game to fix stupid people. Hopefully all those sorts of people will decide the game is crap and not get it.

I'm still getting the feeze thing, too.

They need to add a punishment for doing this. Like sit in spawn for too long and you are kicked from the game.

Guessing there was a typo? Wish I could try on PC but I have a lowly 8800gt with a fan just barely handing on. It's idling at 80C+ :(

Metro has had its good moments with me on the 360, but just feels somewhat like a different game.

I'm also glad to hear about installable improved textures, too. I felt bad that I might have had my expectations too high for thte 360, but there seems to be a little hope. Between the textures and the heavily pixelated shadows it's hard for me to see things most of the time - especially after watching numerous BF3 PC vids. Either way, I'm more than ready for the next gen consoles.

hey Ruran, this is the PC version?

Yeah.

My ping was upwards of 200 for the euro servers, so I assumed i would have had better luck with the US servers - but i'll make sure to give the euro servers a shot. Does anyone else find that the browser match finder is sluggish and a pain to use? It might just be because i'm on Opera, but i found it annoying to find non-full servers with it.

You can find servers by ping, although had a laggy 46 ping server. The best experience for me has been Metro, Caspian always gets graphics problems.

Do people use keyboard and mouse to fly ?

Does the recon get the scan an area ball thing later on ?

The few times I got into a jet or helicopter I used the keyboard only. WASD and the arrow keys seemed to work okay. And no, recon doesn't get anything like that which is lame. They get a gadget called the TUGS which beeps or something when people are near. I haven't found a use for it yet, seems to be completely useless if it even works at all.

"multiplay" is one of the server providers.

Anyway here's some nice lag free gameplay I recorded earlier :)

Search for Battlefieldo.com server and play in the US, they don't usually crash and are a bit more perpared performance wise. ;)

I think I read somewhere that T-UGS is broken in the beta. Either way, I'm happy that there will be no motion sensors as they are pretty damn OP in BC2. Throw a ball and automatically know not only exactly where the enemy is but also which way he is facing.

Guys, for those who've played the Beta, can I ask one question:

Is this going to be the single most flipping amazing shooter experience ever?

It certainly looks it from the videos I've watched.

No not for me. imo opinion the killed all that was Battlefield.

Maybe i'm wrong... this is just based on the beta game i played.

Wow. Before I played Caspian I thought the same thing but I just played 4 solid games and it was awesome. Once people get the flying out of their system it will become that much better. I had a solid squad and we played well.

Depends. If you are a die-hard COD player than no. Running and gunning gets you little in this game. If you really want a squad based game which requires people to play their chosen role appropriately than yes this game rocks.

How to stop the US spawn getting any air vehicles up...

Stingers + ammo + slow underpowered jets = fun.

I had some try this on the last server. Myself and another Recon pretty much took care of that problem and racked up quite a few kills. Kill 2, wait for respawn, kill 2 more rinse and repeat.

Ill just leave this here, new to me: http://goo.gl/EPtHK

:) :) :)

High res textures to install on xbox 360. Does this mean single and multiplayer will actually look quite better than currently on the beta?

I'm hoping so. With the beta running on my 27" 2560x1440 monitor the blurriness is totally stupid. I don't feel so blind playing BC2 on it, just this game.

i have been playing metro up until last night. started playing caspian. i am loving it. besides a few glitches that arent hindering my gameplay. which i believe will be fixed by release date of first patch. i am very impressed. i love the teamwork aspect of this game. runnin and gunnin rambos are obsolete in this game. the game is beautiful on my 1080p lg 52" led

I haven't noticed this in the beta but in the videos posted here, you can see the classes of your teammates on the map. It only works when they're nearby but it's helpful in spotting a medic or support soldier.

Couple of other things you can see:

  1. Dead squad members names now fade
  2. Squad members perk(s) now show up on the squad list.
