Man my life feels so empty right now. I'm like a God damn addict, and BF3 is my drug. I can't wait till the 28th!

I wouldn't go as far as an addict, but I did enjoy the hell out of the beta despite all the flaws we were forced to put up.

Come release I think I'll be playing mostly Rush, too. Conquest just moves a little to slowly for me. That and there is entirely way to much randomness in the engagements for my taste.

i was thinking of doing that as well, but only playing Rush to lvl up my weapons, then once I get the ones I want, go back to conquest.

The version of Battlefield 3 that I spent hours playing last week has weapons and damage that feel like Battlefield Bad Company 2. This, if you aren't sure, is a good thing. It changes the dynamics of firefights, allowing for each side to take and hold positions, and making flanking and tactical coordination much more viable. The increased player survivability also make vehicles in Battlefield 3 more fair than they would be with the beta's damage models.

I was hoping they weren't falling back to BC2's damage model. Shooting someone with close to a full magazine's worth of ammo isn't exactly realistic or fun. I thought the Beta felt great in that respect.

The damage is NOT tweaked according to this tweet: https://twitter.com/#!/Demize99/status/123693205148545025

I agree. BC2 damage model didn't work so well especially with how bad the net code for that game was for the first 10 months of it's life. You ended up with people killing you in situations where it just should not have happened. Of course BF3 has the same problems where you are completely out of line of sight and still die. But hopefully that's been fixed in release.

Did anyone ever find out how to clear the key bindings for the helo and jet section? I wanted to use my joystick solely for the flight and control of those vehicles, and I could not for the life of me get those controls cleared. I kept getting into the vehicle, pulling the throttle, and the guy would jump out. Also, secondary weapons on those vehicles... disabled for the beta? Bombs, tv missiles?

One more, I have inverted my mouse for infantry movement, but the jeep positions were not inverted. The tank was ok though...

I hope that was caught.

Very solid deal. Switched my pre order to that, I had it as a dvd pre-order from amazon anyways. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

I wonder if we'll be able to bring that antenna tower down in multiplayer? I'm pretty sure all those clips were from the single player though. I hope we can, so the first thing I'll do in CB is destroy that damn thing to prevent wannabe snipers from camping in it the entire game.

i'm pretty sure you are the one who found that deal on direct2drive last year to get %25 off black ops, so consider it a CoD kiddie returning a battlefield fanboy a courtesy ;)

    • The original word arts were far more awesome! With their own preconfigured fill patterns, 3D layout, etc, with options to fine-tune their size and colors as desired. I especially loved the ones circled below and still miss them from my primary school years: I frankly use them less these days 'cause the new one isn't as straightforward fine art as what we originally had, taking time and effort to get back to the same graphics quality as the original offered, which I simply don't have enough of for simply fine-tuning my presentation titles. Same with the built-in picarts selection.
    • What didn't you understand about that was mainly referring to Google, Microsoft, etc. keeping your passwords. Password Management is a key service of Bitwarden and it's not going anywhere. In any case they do offer export to other Password management services, backup/download of passwords, and the already mentioned on-prem option. I don't agree with the OP to use the free option as it's better to be an actual customer IMO. They don't just don't delete accounts like the big tech companies with no recourse which was the main concern of this article. I was confused if the author was trying to sell this setup? It should be obvious to anyone reading this article this solution is overly complicated and overkill for most users.
    • I got this notification just now in Android: So I went in to disable the "Other" or "Marketing" notifications in Notifications management: But it came through the Now Playing? So if I disable that I no longer get what's Now Playing in Notifications? I'm a paying subscriber, not on the free plan... can they sink any lower?
    • Population especially in high density areas creates more heat and more humidity. This can be noticed in an indoor arena or concert room which heats up when the room or arena fills with people, without air conditoning to cool it down, Watering of lawns creates more humidity as the moisture from the watering rises into the atmosphere, creating a more humid condition. The again, depopulating an arena or room after an event will drop the temperature inside. Desert areas are less humid for a number of reasons, including a lower population density. Tel Aviv has horrible weather, unless you like it hot and humid. Summer days are regularly 90+ F with humidity well over 70%. It is probably not as bad as Mississippi but still it is bad enough.
