I have 17 free gigs on my SSD.

Will I see a noticeable performance increase if I install it to the SSD instead of my 1.17 TB free "games" HDD?

I have no issue doing it if I'll benefit, but if there's no benefit then it would obviously be a stupid thing to do.

So... Is there a benefit?

Dare I say the SP may actually be just as good as the MP this time around? I know that has never been the case, and it probably will not be this time around, but it really looks like they have stepped their game up tremendously on that front. Although I planned on doing so anyway, I am actually now very much looking forward to playing the SP, and believe I am going to stick to my tradition of beating it first before I hop on MP (that, and I actually have to go away on a business trip for a week in early November, so part of me has just conceded to the fact I may not be able to really touch the MP until I get back from that trip). Just based on that new trailer though, my interest in the SP has increased dramatically.

It really sucks getting older. Just no time these days, I am seriously contemplating using my remaining vacation time to just take a full week off towards the end of November so I can play all of the games I want to play.

I would say go for it, especially if your vacation time is "use it or lose it" like some places.

Still nothing.

:(

I don't know what to tell you then man. It could be due to your location. I guess you would be considered in the EU so I'm not sure if their pre-load starts today or not? Anyways you got plenty of time so just send an email off to EA support and tell them your Origin client isn't allowing you to pre load it.

Will do. Thanks

To be honest - no. Load times are less than that of TF2, and the texture streaming allows any hard drive in decent shape to catch up with it.

Got a question for people concerning load times. When playing Operation Metro, my load times between rounds was less than 5 seconds. But Caspian Border my load times were drastically longer, it was taking as much as 1 minute. Did anyone else have this sort of experience with it?

I wasnt saying that the game looks bad just too much going on. I am a very perceptive person and I try to notice just about everything i see, which can be confusing sometimes when there is too much going on (one of the reasons i try to stay out of crowds, i cannot watch everyone)

My metro load times were low like yours, but my caspian border times werent drastically longer, maybe 10-12 seconds, and i wasnt using SSD's, just a regular ole hard drive.

Sweet prealod speed batman, only took 32 minutes!!! I love Timewarner, now we play the waiting game......

Haha yeah :D 10.4mb/s, all ready for the launch now >:D bring it on!

And my load times were never more than about 20 seconds, installed on a normal HDD.

My Caspian Border load times were extremely fast, I constantly had the ability to spawn directly into the jets, since I wasent flying I didnt but I am sure there were many that wished the could. I am not using an SSD.

I don't know.. I probably need to reformat and reinstall Win7. I'll shamefully admit that I haven't reformatted since Win7 was released. Although suprisingly it's just as stable today as it was then.

That being said, performance and load times in Op. Metro and any other game is just fine. So I'm really hoping it was the servers I was connecting to that were at fault and not anything on my end. And all the changes that have been made since the 9 month old beta code was released fixes the issue.

Commo Rose Day 1 patch!!!!!

He says "Not on launch but in the 1st day patch." So wouldn't that still be on launch? Because launch is usually the first day..

Preloading at rather quick speed, faster then even get on steam. Trailer looks good, got high hopes for a gripping single player story of sorts. Definitely going to see if can get around the delayed launch... damn it was a stupid idea whoever thought "Yeah lets make europe and asia pacific not get the game till 48-72+ hours later just cause we can"

Believe it or not I got kind of a 24 vibe from the trailer. I wasn't really anticipating the single player but now I'm looking forward to it.

    • I'm not sure about that, but it at least "does" a version of 7.1 that this brand new card doesn't....

    • I can barely recall getting web results from a file search... I must've turned it off long ago. 26H2 is Insider's Preview build 26300.8697, which I am running, atm. It is not available for people running the standard commercial builds of Windows--only for the beta test Insider's group. But anyway, as mentioned in the thread, this feature has been around for a long time...
    • Speak for yourself. I saw it on Feedly, came here to read it, and did read it until the steps to activate. I skipped them to read the last paragraph. I knew it was probably not "the most requested feature", but knowing Neowin, I knew the article was going to talk about a feature nonetheless. I've seen Neowin in its best and worst.
