Seriously, what the hell? I can't even stand to play the final, the mouse feels horrific, jittery as hell and some kind if crazy mouse acceleration going on. Beta was fine :/

Have you played with any of the in game mouse settings? Might wanna try that. I have no issues with my controls at all (unlike the beta).

I've tried playing with them, didn't help at all. It has horrific amounts of negative mouse acceleration. Moving the mouse slowly makes me turn fast, and moving it fast is making me turn less. There's a massive thread on the battlelog forums about it, many have the problem.

the mouse movement in the beta was perfectly fine, why the **** did they even change it?

Disable raw mouse input... that's what I had to do. I don't understand it either, but I had this same problem in the beta as well. I posted about this too (a couple pages back) but no one has had any solution. The game runs flawlessly with the raw mouse input disabled (1920x1200, Ultra) but if I enable it the mouse movement gets all screwed up.

Also quick question for those eligible to answer it, is anyone running the game on a 5870? If so how is the performance?

My brother in law is making the jump back to PC gaming just for BF3, and he currently owns a 5870. He was asking me how it should run, and I told him from what I have heard so far it should be just fine, but would love to hear some actual feedback from people actually using a 5870. TIA, DL

i ran the beta on high @ 1920x1080 on my 5850 that's OC'ed. he should be more then fine.

That made it slightly better but didn't fix it. Raw input disabled lessens the negative acceleration but makes the mouse feel "floaty".

Hmm... disabling it fixed the "floaty" issue for me. I'll have to wait until I get home from work to troubleshoot it further.

EDIT: Ha, just noticed my post count :woot: .

You guys that have the mouse problem, are you using high resolution mice? If so, can you turn it down?

I'm running an 1800dpi deathadder. I'd rather not mess with my dpi because I have no problems in other games, and I'd have to re-adjust my sensitivity in all of them, but I'll give it a shot.

Making me mess up my 1,337 posts :(.

I'm using a Razer Mamba at 4000 dpi. Like Viper, I don't see why I should have to adjust it, that would be a pain re-adjusting for my other games. I guess I could create a profile if setting a low DPI fixes it. But I hate using a mouse with a dpi lower than 3000 on a monitor this size...

watch this. it'll give you more info

Thanks, just not really to much in to multiplayer. For one, dont know a lot of people on XBOX, in the same time zone, or on at the same time to take advantage of it. And I hate playing with random people as they turn out to be idiots most of hte time. Why I am looking forward to the next Assassins Creed, and Mass Effect.

that's fair. and this is definitely north worth buying for SP...

To continue my story below: My friend and I returned our respective copies of the standard edition of BF3 to EB Games. We then bought the limited edition at a local Future Shop. They had 8 copies of the X360 limited edition and 2 copies of the PS3 limited edition. We also received a code for the SPECACT skin as well as a steel case. We did, however, keep our physical warfare pack codes from EB Games. Well... we copied them before returning it, that is. :ninjapirate:

So, although I pre-ordered it a day before the release... I was only able to get the standard (non-limited edition) from a local EB Games store. However, I haven't opened the game yet and I plan on returning it as soon as I get my hands on the limited edition. My friend is in the same boat as me but we remain hopeful. I didn't expect EA to make a standard edition so early. :(

What issue in particular are you talking about?

The game will eventually just hang itself after a while of playing. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. When it does i have to alt tab and kill the process manually. Windows also does not see the program as "not responding" in the task manager, despite it being obviously dead, thus there's no event viewer info. Just like with the beta, this is the only game that has any issues at all. Everything else on my system is rock solid as always.

Indeed. It's why I didn't expect to receive the non-limited edition. I'm hoping it's an EB Games-only thing.

I might have missed this being answered, but I was at the midnight launch of GameStop last night, and the manager said that each store was given limited amounts of the Limited Editions. Even pre-orders weren't guaranteed a limited edition (Luckily I ordered mine in April). However all pre-orders still received the Physical Warfare Pack.

What video card are you using? I have a ATI 5850 and discovered while playing the beta that the drivers were not ramping up my fan as I played. Eventually everything would lock up because the video card was overheating. I have to manually go into the ATI control panel and set it to 60%, I then had no issues. On a side note I am not sure why this is happening but I do not think it is this games fault, this game is taxing my video card like no other but thats not BF3's fault.

    • Nvidia GeForce NOW gains support for Dark Scrolls, Empulse, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The final update of June for Nvidia's cloud gaming service GeForce NOW is now available, and it is touting support for six more games. The company is also drawing subscriber attention towards the summer sales kicking off across stores, so they can stock up on more cloud-supported titles. Of course, the Steam Summer Sale is the biggest promotion, which is kicking off later today. "Supported Steam games can be streamed across devices with GeForce NOW, making it easy to buy a game once, keep progress synced and pick up where the gameplay left off on PCs, Macs, handheld devices, phones, TVs and more," says the company. "In other words, the Steam Summer Sale brings the deals; GeForce NOW adds the flexibility." Don't forget that the GeForce NOW summer sale is still active as well. This limited-time offer drops the 12-month Performance membership from $99.99 to $64.99, saving members $35. At the same time, the 12-month Ultimate membership is currently going for $129.99, dropping the price by $70 from the original $199.99. Here are the games joining GeForce NOW's supported list this week: Dark Scrolls (New release on Steam, available June 22) SAND: Raiders of Sophie (New release on Steam, available June 22) Deer & Boy (New release on Steam, available June 23) EMPULSE (New release on Steam, available June 24) The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (Steam) FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves (Steam) With the June expansions coming to an end, Nvidia should be announcing its July GeForce NOW plans next week. Keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via Nvidia's cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month.
