What video card are you using? I have a ATI 5850 and discovered while playing the beta that the drivers were not ramping up my fan as I played. Eventually everything would lock up because the video card was overheating. I have to manually go into the ATI control panel and set it to 60%, I then had no issues. On a side note I am not sure why this is happening but I do not think it is this games fault, this game is taxing my video card like no other but thats not BF3's fault.

If you're having overheating problems you might want to look into downloading MSI Afterburner and setting automatic fan controls. Just in case you forget to do it manually one time and it goes bad.

The game will eventually just hang itself after a while of playing. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. When it does i have to alt tab and kill the process manually. Windows also does not see the program as "not responding" in the task manager, despite it being obviously dead, thus there's no event viewer info. Just like with the beta, this is the only game that has any issues at all. Everything else on my system is rock solid as always.

What a surprise, the retail release has the same exact issues with stability the beta had. Remind me again why a release day patch was made when dice obviously didn't do a damn thing?

I just played for about 9 hours straight on the same server (no joke) and I didn't have any disconnects. There was a bit of lag here and there but I think that was on my end. So I'm inclined to believe that any major stability issues you're having are on your end.

Well, they nerfed the mobile spawn point into near uselessness. The flashlight is still annoying and OP as hell, and they toned down the glare a bit from rifle scopes. My biggest gripe with these changes (or lack thereof) is the mobile spawn point. It's now 10x bigger, 100x louder, you parachute in, and it seems to have limited uses. It's completely useless now. Any reason you might have had to use a mobile spawn point is completely negated when you're forced to parachute in.

And the maps...wow.. they're awesome. As I said I played *a lot* over the night. And after 8 hours I only played the maps about once each, in rush mode. I'm very surprised at this. A lot of fun.

Oh yes. the time to rank up has increased drastically. I don't recall exactly how long individual classes took but they seem to take longer to rank up as well. Not sure how I feel about that.

The beauty of Origin is after each game and side switch the game goes into window mode and I can monitor everything using the ATI control panel.

Someone else getting crappy download speeds on the new '48 mb' update?

Not me. Origin always maxes my download speed.

And so far my only complaint about the game, is the unbindable mouse keys. Trying to bind the fourth button to melee attack and just like in the alpha/beta, it can't be done for some reason :(

The Geforce GTX 460 1gb in my sig. Also, temps are not an issue. At the highest i saw when playing via my g15's lcd, the cpu hits 51°C and the gpu did 68°C.

I don't see any other issue in any other titles. No matter how long i play them. Including this games predecessor, bc2. Also, some browsing around the ea forums for this game shows others with a variety of different setups having similar issues. So it seems i'm definitely not alone.

The "parachute in" was actually in the beta as well. You'll only parachute in when the mobile spawn point is located out in the open. If you place it inside a room or something you'll spawn in the room.

I might have missed this being answered, but I was at the midnight launch of GameStop last night, and the manager said that each store was given limited amounts of the Limited Editions. Even pre-orders weren't guaranteed a limited edition (Luckily I ordered mine in April). However all pre-orders still received the Physical Warfare Pack.

I officially pre-ordered mine on October 22 through Amazon.com and it just arrived about 2 hours ago, luckily on my lunch break, so I got to play a little. It was the Limited Edition as well. So, Amazon has a large stock I assume, as long as you pre-ordered. I decided to go with the X360 version instead of PC, (which I got the X360 version for $0.94, instead of $0.99 for the PC version!) because, well about 6 friends will be playing on the X360 version, and I would be alone on PC, which REALLY sucks, because the PC version is vastly superior, graphics wise, and control wise (kb/m>controller). :(

Oh well.

From the 20-30 minutes I played in just one round, besides the graphics not being quite as good as the PC, I was pleasantly surprised, and I think I will enjoy it regardless, especially once the friends hop on and such.

Works fine for me.

Don't think so. In the beta my highest ranked class next to assault was recon and I never once parachuted in while using a mobile spawn point.

For all those with the mouse issues, Ive had them since Beta when they added the "Mouse Input" Option in.

Im on a g700.

I was ****ED off yesterday that I couldnt fix my issue permanently. I then changed my profiles, and figured out what it was.

My polling is set to 1000 on a Gaming Profile, my General Profile(for desktop use not gaming etc) was set to 125 polling rate. By doing this, ALL THE MOUSE LAG WAS GONE!

Now, my gaming profile went from 1000 to 125 and my DPI stayed the same, I didnt notice a difference in mouse movement, but I would still like to know why my Polling rate makes the mouse all wonky and creates the "floaty" effect.

But for those who can control there Polling Rate, try it? It might not be called polling rate for you but its how fast your sensor talks to your PC.

ive posted on battlelog, submitted feedback, etc. It was AWESOME in the alpha, so I hope they take the mouse raw option out or fix it.

I hope that helps guys

I'm picking it up for sure !

Personally, I would have much rather preferred to go the PC route as well. But I went with X360 because I have 6 friends that are going to play (1 being a really good friend) and I want to do Co-Op. I have only one friend getting it for PC, but he is a night owl that usually plays games from 2AM- to 7AM. I know my gameplay will take a hit, no KB/M, graphics, etc... But playing with friends far outweighs that, for me anyway. Multi-player games I always prefer playing with people I know, or I just won't have any fun.

I say go with PS3, it is more fun to talk trash to good friends, than to complete strangers. :p

EDIT: My reply quote was to your original post.

Same sort of decision for me regarding buying it on the PS3...

No mates playing it on the PC.. and the knowledge that I needed to spend at least £150 to get a decent graphics card (let alone even thinking about a CPU upgrade) to cope with the game. Or buy it for the PS3, no upgrades needed, and know that several friends are getting it on UK launch day... just, as you say - the frustration of having to play on a fricking joypad! I much much prefer keyboard & mouse!

    • well you can add a GPU for around $500, that's still around the price of Steam Machine but overall significantly better in performance.
