Is it me or are people loosing interest on BF3? I noticed there is only a few servers with people on them. The rest are empty. What is going on?

A lot are playing Skyrim. And, ya, I guess quite a few switched to MW3 as well. Personally I don't feel like playing this game much because it's just so damn frustrating and honestly, even with all of it's flaws, I enjoy BC2 more. I mean, it can be infuriating, sure, but BF3 just takes it to a whole new level, and almost every round for me ends up being an exercise in anger management. And that's just not fun.

I can see that the core game is very good (don't like the damage model but the weapons feel nice none the less, the classes are very good and I like Battlelog) but some maps, missing and outright broken features and the awful art direction just kills the game for me. Oh well, awaiting first patch and B2K. Maybe those will make the game more enjoyable.

Everyone seems to be comparing MW3 to Black OPS but the truth is that BF3 at least the SP mode is almost identical to Black OPS with the guy being interrogated. It is even a poor copy of Black OPS.

And?

Most people who bought BF3 knew going in that the SP wasn't going to be anything special.

Buying Battlefield for the single player is like buying Minecraft for the graphics.

You're missing his point. The "regular" damage model in BF3 is like "hardcore" in BC2. Playing hardcore would only make it worse.

Yep, this. I stayed away from HC in BC2 and plan on continuing that trend in BF3. :D Unless I feel like grinding some one hit kills with sniper rifles.

ok im now annoyed, in a match, i get 2 weapon stars and a medal + 12,000 game score, so basically a crap loads of points, i jump to lvl 23 and end up pretty close to 24, but then i get kicked from the game randomly just before it finishes, and lose all my points and back to lvl 22

yet i retain the stars and the medal so the points i shouldve got have been lost, which in the case of the medal i cant get back, so pretty much lost probably in the end close to 50,000 points, all because the server crashed!

Happened to me the other night.

A friend had just gotten the game and he clicked on Quick Game.

I followed him in and turned out to be a Hardcore game with a 1000 ticket limit. By the time I noticed the tickets I was well invested and had racked up an insane amount of points.

I ended up driving a tank around the whole map (Caspian) with thermal optics basically beasting everyone to hell. Well I guess the admin got sick of getting killed and kicked me.

Lol, didn't play for a couple days after that. :D

What platform are you playing on? The PC side looks quite fine, I can find tons of full EU servers and it's 2am :p

So your saying that damage is too high/health is too low in a normal match?

Playing hardcore is the only way to go. I played my first 50ish hours on normal. I switched to HC and the resulting 15+ have been much more enjoyable. I can't go back.

I'm not saying that he is. I think it's fine and hardcore is an abomination.

I find that the laser sights and tact lights just are a big "HERE I AM, SPAM IN THIS DIRECTION"...
Tact lights are certainly like that. Laser sights not so obvious. I turn mine on and off constantly (IF I equip it)
Been rolling with suppressors lately, and creeping in dark corners, much more enjoyable when I can get kill after kill of people blindly running into rooms.
Good man, I always have a suppressor equipped. It's so worth it.

You could not have summed up all what I've been preaching these past weeks better.

Every moment of this game has been terrible, and every other death seems to originate from something that's either broken or bad balance. Be it netcode, a glitch, OR THAT GODDAMN M416, I always find myself barely holding back from punching my monitor.

It took me roughly 20 hrs to learn the ropes of BC2 and start recognizing legit kills. That game is mechanically refined to the point where I begin to respect those who kill me. BF3 gives me no such feelings. Not only is it a massive departure from the Battlefield series (should be Bad Company 3), but it was released about 6 months too early.

After Skyrim pulled me away from it, I don't think I'm going back for a very long while. Clan servers or no.

Anyone having problems logging into Origin? I try, but it says my user/password is wrong.

Can login with the same user and password to Battlelog without any problems though

edit: Tried again, got this error:

Guess they're doing some work on the servers, or something.

This is normal.

Just log off and then log back in

It isn't normal though. It started doing that for me as well with the first login today. Can't login by logging off and then back in again.

Statement from the Battlefield Twitter account: Link

I've never had problems either but as the dialog says, their servers seem to be down. Try again logging out and back in right now and you'll see what we see ;)

Edit: It's been fixed :)
