So, does premium give you all of the DLC? as in Karkand, CQ, AK etc? Is it a one off payment or somewhere it said yearly? If it is yearly, Does the first payment cover all the maps and you don't lose them? Would someone guess at a price for all the extra map packs if they were purchased separately?

One payment only. Add-ons should cost $15 individually.

How does it put you at a disadvantage exactly? If you suck at the game, you still suck even if you spend $49

New weapons, unlocks, etc, that you can't use will put you at a disadvantage. I'm already at a loss when it comes to players with the FAMAS, and adding in more guns that I'll never have puts me further behind.

Needless to say I'm done with Battlefield. I paid $60 up front for a broken game, and I'm not paying again.

No they don't. New weapons are a side grade and you specifically mention the famas which is an absolutely terrible gun. It has some of the worst bullet spread and recoil in the game, not to mention it's iron sights, which again are the worst in the game.

There is no weapon that is outright better than any other weapon in the game. The M16a3 is proof of that. It's the first US weapon you get and it's probably one of the best assault rifles in the game, too. I haven't used the Close Quarters weapons yet but I'm fairly certain that still holds true.

To his defence the famas was OP when it first game out. Shot lasers. Although they quickly fixed it.

I won't be going premium.

I already own B2K so that's kinda ruined half the good thing about buying it and i'm not sure if i'll be buying any of the other expansion packs yet.

It's great for those that are heavily into gaming though, the sort who know they'll buy everything anyway!

It was a bit OP in close quarters. When it came to mid-longer ranges, M16 pooped on it. Now it's pretty bad at everything, unless DICE changed something (don't remember the change log).

I haven't used it once I got the 1 star on it. For rifles now I find myself using the L85A2 which in my mind still needs a nerf. But I'm almost always camping these days having sniper fights with my friends on the other team.

Apologies if posted just wanted to get this up there quick; I'm a Xbox user and haven't checked but wanted to help out anyone (especially on PS3 - confirmed):

Basically, dont buy DLC via PSN, do it via BF3 in-game menus.

Max Payne 3 did the same exact thing with its Rockstar Pass. Why on earth they would even allow it on the store is beyond me. Incredibly messed up as you know some people will make the mistake.

I went ahead and got premium yesterday, even though i already paid $15 for b2k, i think i still save a few bucks in the long run. hopefully they'll give us who already bought b2k a refund for it, but i doubt it.

mostly to show my support to the game. It's well wroth the $100+ i've spent on it so far. even with its bugs :p

So CQ will start in june12 for premium on PC? i hope its nothing like COD games. Metro is does kinda have the MW feel, but much better, still not my fav map. hopefully the destruction in CQ will make it very fun.

i've been tryin to unlock some of the new weapons, but havent been playin too well lately :( i go through bad months and good months lol

hopefully they wont keep jacking up the new weapons with each future patch (adding bs recoil, taking it away, etc)

You should hope the other DLC is up to standard too. I'm not to comfortable in giving EA money up front for something we haven't seen.

I'm not comfortable with any sort of season pass after Gears of War 3. Epic's pretty much abandoned the game and don't listen to any fan complaints. Said this in another topic, but it's almost as if they said, "Aright, here's what we're going to do for DLC. And that's it."

I won't be making that mistake again. I'll be buying these packs one at a time, once I know they're worth it.

I recently pre-ordered CQ but then I cancelled it, looks far too much like cod and not enough like battlefield. I hope the rest of the dlc looks better, the armored kill screens look interesting, but i'm not sure I believe the whole "biggest map ever" claim.

no?

Is there a source on that?

http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/06/08/battlefield-3-armoured-kill-ac-130-detailed-aftermath-set-in-post-earthquake-tehran/

To get the AC-130, your team must first capture a base, at which point it will spawn and start taking its own route around the map. There are two gunner seats equipped with a 25mm autocannon and ?a big cannon.? The gunship will also act as a roaming spawn point, so the remaining members of your squad can choose to para-drop from the gunship on respawn.

The AC-130 gunship is by no means invincible. Fegraeus says that ?if your team has the AC130 it?s really, really important for your pilots to protect it because it is vulnerable, it?s a big target, it?s not nimble in any way, it?s just flying on its path.?

    • Same Internet Archive seemed to grab the new version https://web.archive.org/web/20...d/Setup_MakeMKV_v1.18.4.exe Here's the link to an additional file it periodically downloads https://web.archive.org/web/20260213092148/https://www.makemkv.com/sdf.bin I think update's keys, etc. To manually trigger this update, put the sdf.bin file in the root of where the program is installed. When you launch the program it will pick up the file and import it. Typically put it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV\sdf.bin
    • Windows 11 KB5094126, KB5093998 bugging out Office apps but it may not be Microsoft's fault by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. Although the tech giant did not acknowledge any major problems, some users online reported various issues ranging from OneDrive and Dropbox access problems, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. You can read about them in this dedicated piece. While there is still no confirmation about those problems from Microsoft the company has admitted to another bug which we did not report on. The tech giant has confirmed it has received reports of an issue in which certain third-party applications may be unable to launch Microsoft Office apps or open Office documents after installing the Patch Tuesday. This affects both Windows 11 as well as Windows 10. The company says the problem impacts a subset of applications that rely on OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) automation to communicate with Microsoft Office programs. According to Microsoft, affected scenarios involve third-party software attempting to open Office applications or documents from within their own interface. In such cases, the Office program may fail to launch altogether, or the requested document may not open. Oddly there may not be any error message, which probably makes the issue difficult to diagnose. The bug affects several Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other apps in the Microsoft Office suite when they are launched through the affected software. These include tax and accounting software such as CCH Engagement and Workpaper Manager, dental practice management solutions like Dentrix and Softdent, as well as the popular research and reference management tool Zotero. Microsoft adds that other applications using similar Office integration methods could also experience the same problematic behavior. To understand the issue it is important to look at OLE, the Microsoft technology involved. OLE allows different applications to work together and share data, while its Automation feature lets one program control another. Thus this enables third-party software to launch Microsoft Office apps, open documents, and perform tasks automatically without requiring users to switch between programs. Because many accounting, healthcare, research, and business applications rely on OLE automation to interact with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office apps, any disruption can break those workflows. As a result, affected software may be unable to open Office documents or launch Office applications even though the programs themselves continue to work normally. At the moment the company has not provided a permanent fix though it has confirmed that engineers are actively working on a resolution, which will be delivered through a future Windows update. As such additional details will be shared once more information becomes available. In the meantime, Microsoft recommends a simple workaround for affected users whic is to open the Office application or document directly rather than launching it through the third-party program. For enterprise customers and organizations managing larger deployments, Microsoft says an additional mitigation is available. Admins experiencing the problem on their managed devices are advised to contact Microsoft Support for business to obtain and apply the workaround.
