Can I make my photos secure?

Is there a way for photos not to be opened if someone views them or is there a way I can tag them to see if someone else is viewing them who is not supposed to view them?

Not without forcing them to view it in a custom application or using some custom monitoring software.

Are you talking about the photos in the folders on your computer or any other devices?

If you are talking about photos in the folders on your computer, you can STOP sharing them with others except yourself via sharing option on Windows. Windows 7 has the sharing/security feature built-in.

If you want to share them with specific people, then add them to your allow list.

If something else such as mobile devices, then I have no idea.

you need to provide more information on the actual circumstances e.g. How are people accessing your photos?

For standard file formats and using standard image viewers there is no way to do this. As others mentioned you'd need a custom application to view the photos and do this and have everyone else use this app.

I always toyed with the idea of using a barcode somewhere in the image, like a microdot I guess or changing the opacy of it so it's barely viewable.

Although this wouldn't stop people using your image.

I did have a photoshop plugin at one point which would embed a watermark over the entire image. Then it could be read by the same plugin, but doesn't detract from the image in any way.
