Photography intern @ school

Hello, I currently go to Brock University, today I was walking around campus and stumbled upon an application form to become a photography intern.

I felt this would be a great way to get involved in school with something that I love to do.

The application is due by next Friday, I just finished making a ROUGH draft (I will likely be adding a bit to my cover-letter)... I was wondering if you guys could give some feedback/advice.

Essentially my duties would be to attend events, athletic games and other BUSU (Brock University Students' Union) business functions to take photographs, as well as to assist in the development, transfer and upload of photos to BUSU servers and BUSU.net

They require a:

coverletter

Portfolio

Resume

*** Also they mention one must have relevant skills in the field of graphic design and that they will provide a camera.

edit: You can ignore the part of the resume that talks about community involvement as it does not exactly apply (but it just looks good being there)

1.) Get a better hosting service that doesn't make it easy to confuse the file you're linking and an ad that makes me download a .exe file...

2.) Time to get a big boy email address, something like "[email protected]" or something. If that's a school issued email address... oops? Looks silly. Ignore this part if that's school issued to you :p

3.) Remove the "click HERE" links from the document, and make them the URL. Always anticipate people having software issues/ignorance. Also, if they go to PRINT the document, there will be no links. I actually include my flickr URL in the top of my resume, along w/ my phone # and email address.

The only weak spot I see is your portfolio and sports. Chances are, they're gunna hand you a nikon D40 and a kit lens, so you're probably already ahead of them on that.

If you CAN, toss in a few sports photos, but if you don't have any, you don't have any.

Other than that, looks good. Good luck! I don't see why you wouldn't get the position.

1) lol sorry, I don't know of any good free hosting sites, I just googled and used the first one that came up

That's TERRIBLE! haha. Man, I'm sorry. Looks like some "hax0r" lingo or something lol. I still suggest a gmail one, though. Most everybody I know has their school one and a "[email protected]" type one.

You can PM if you want some help on that; all I shoot these days is sports.
