I need a bigger desk.

No you don't, what you need is to sort your stuff, and maybe a small cabinet

- Remove the top glass shelf from the left side, and have your monitor there

- move the pc to the far left of the table and sort the cables

- use the corner for the you controls, headphones, etc or have them inside a small cabinet and then have the ps3,xbox in the corner

- have a small cabinet on the far right of the table for all those HDDs, cloths cleaner, and the stuff behind the mac and you papers

- use the keyboard where it belongs in its drawer, or not

- put the subwoofer in the middle corner under the table

- also you can mount your monitor on the wall instead of the flag with all the dates

- Distribute your speakers for better sound

- and for all those cables, you either, hide them inside the cabinet bottom for example, or you can have a proper box for them

you have allot of perfectly waisted space

hey now, it's just not a flag with dates. it's a montreal canadiens stanley cup banner ;) those dates are 24 cups :p

You have plenty of space... remove the glass shelf, a soccer ball doesn't need that much space :p

What you need to do is, manage your cables....

love the suggestion, will work on it, but the bolded part, i can't do. i can't remove that shelf. beleive me, i want to REALLY REALLY badly.

and it's a liverpool soccer ball, so yeah it does ;) got that all the way in liverpool, it deserves it.

You also need to keep your subwoofer away from your cabinet! Not a good idea to keep strong magnets next to a computer!!

what cabinet? and they are z5500, it's perfectly shielded ;)

i'll work on your guyses suggestion. i have been meaning to do some mass re-organizing back there. hiding the cables is the problem for me... also the problem with the keyboard drawer is that it too small for a mouse, and playing games with the keyboard and mouse on different levels suck...

I don't get it. Why don't you use your monitor shelf for whats for? Your monitor. And use your keyboard tray for what its for. Your keyboard.

That, and tidy up the cables and you'll have a great desk. I saw this desk on Amazon and I thought it was quite nice, only in silver. Not sure if I want to keep all that glass clean though. ;)

I got a glass L desk from officemax and it's niiiiice. there'a a pic of it somewhere here in this thread... fits my dual monitors nicely and have plenty of room for the printer and speakers and everything else.

I understand about the keyboard shelf. I didn't use the one I had on my old desk, because of the missing space for the mouse...

A good idea would be moving your keyboard, mouse monitor to the side where the MacBook is now and place the case on the right side of the desk. Then you can put your MacBook where your keyboard is now or into the corner. Subwoofer can be placed in the corner below the table..... :)

I think he will hurt his neck if he places the monitor on the shelf :p. The Keyboard shelf sucks big time, there is no space for the mouse there. So I understand why he doesn't use it :)

so i started rewiring/organizing everything and my KVM surged during the move. caught fire. it was pretty crazy. took my g5 with it (RIP greatest mouse ever), my new keyboard and most likely my JBOD external and my hard drive dock... good times. Expensive remodel....

Wow! At least it didn't take out your computers..

yeah i guess that's a way to look at it. i still haven't tested if it killed the HDDs that were in the dock and JDOB external yet though. gives me an excuse to buy a logitech g700 mouse though.

talk ish now jerks.... :p

RIP Logitech G5, Eagletech JBOD external HDD caddy, Thermaltake BlacX HDD dock and a logitech illuminated wireless keyboard (luckily i was able to exchange it).

The replacement Eagle JBOD external caddy, Thermaltake BlacX Duel HDD dock is still coming, but i got a g700 to replace the g5 :)

did u loose all that just moving the setup to please a few people on here? wow.... totally not worth it!

no. while i was plugging stuff back in my KVM switch surged. it actually starting sparking and there was a tiny fire coming out of it. i should maybe upload the picture of it. Because of that, old keyboard, mouse and external caddies surged. luckily nothing else surged with it. I actually really miss my old g5 mouse. everything needed to be cleaned up anyways. the back of that desk was a cesspool of dust...

now you are talking! look much better, i hate the flags but i guess you love them :p, alternatively are you ok with the screen that high? if not why didnt you have them on the other side? and nice choice with the G700, i love it after my miserable experience with the Mamba

I normally unplug everything when I move stuff around.

everythign was unplugged. i guess when i was plugging everything back in to set it up that's when it happened.

lol yeah everyone has their own tastes i guess. if i am sitting upright the screen is fine. i only slouch on this seat when i am playing video games via my xbox controller.

I am liking the mouse so far, but still need to get used to it. I owned a razer keyboard for a day, didn't mind it but also didn't trust it because of all the critical reviews of razer's stuff, so i went logitech for everything. i am really like this keyboard though. feels like a really good laptop keyboard which i really like.

    • Rescind the stupid "Show more options" in context menus and just give us the full menu instead of adding more steps to get to what we want. The "simpler by default" makes me think they'll go in the opposite direction. Every context menu should have a configure button so you can pick and choose what options should be shown, I know you can do that with some registry fu but that shouldn't be required.
    • This is why competition must exist. Finally, pressure is mounting on Microsoft to move in the right direction.
    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.
