the Devs tend to be Backing out stuff a lot in FF21, how come? goes up to 20.3MB back to 19.5MB .

As far as I think ANGLE library (one used to provide WebGL on D3D or DX9 acceleration) updated recently and newer one does not rely on DirectX one file which weighs about 2 MB which they have to ship with their setup, now this dependency is gone. Might be that's why setup size gone down.

They took also many stuff from xul.dll to not go for PGO (Profile Guided Optimization), which will be another reason of this as mentioned by The_Decryptor.

I wish they'd put a little focus into making firefox look good in the windows 8 classic desktop, a lot of things look out of place, for example in the firefox button menu some of the menu highlights are the native windows 8 ones, and other ones look like the windows 7 menus...

I will ask again: What is going on with Australis? I am loving Firefox 19 Beta 4!! It's the fastest, smoothest, most responsive Firefox yet! Just curious when Australis will be implemented. Firefox 20, 21?

Panorama has a very small user base and there's basically no chance that we will enable it by default or even improve its visibility and discoverability anytime soon. In its current form it is indeed quite fragile and causes intermittent test failures here and there when touching platform code. We're not going to spending any time on improving Panorama and its feature or its design and UX - thus it should just be removed from Firefox.

Just prove that Mozilla is in disarray with the masses.

But I hope they'll restore the standard window object prior to Firefox 6. Panorama is the reason you can?t use external screenshot to capture scrolling pages because Firefox render everything on screen as one single object.

Panorama has nothing to do with them removing all the separate window objects from the main window, they did that to simplify the code and increase performance (The window is now drawn as one object, vs. a separate object for each component)

It's a shame they're removing Panorama, but it was never stable enough for them to enable by default, and because it was never enabled barely anybody used it, meaning there's no real reason for them to keep it as part of the main browser.

Panorama has everything to do with Firefox's use of [undocumented] window objects. If they stick with standard object, Mozilla would have to overlay Panorama over other objects and that would be way too memory intensive with XUL.

Now that they are going to make Panorama an addon, I wonder if that'll be the only extension to have special permission to use the whole screen.

face the fact, Mozilla is going Downhill, but IMHO Mozilla Firefox is going through its Pre 1.0 release again . its gonna take ages for Firefox to become usable again .. i dont care about Panorama as i never used it anyway .

Sucks to hear that they are going to remove Panorama, but maybe it's for the better if someone can impove it. I personally love using it and constantly have a bunch of tabs open at the same time, and I have never had a single problem with it besides the fact that it can become too overwhelming with so many tabs open. I use TabGroups Menu to switch to them. It's pretty cool! TabGroups Manager was the best, but it was discontinued. A new guy said he might revive it, though. Here's to hoping that happens!

The WebAudio stuff seems to have landed and stuck, so the next nightly should have it. One thing nice about it is that they've implemented it unprefixed, but behind a pref, so any well written page (i.e. it doesn't rely on Chrome) should just work if you flip the pref, yay standards! :rolleyes:

I was involved in a discussion on another forum, where I said WebAudio was a Chrome only thing and Mozilla's "MediaStreams" stuff was more interesting. Seems the MediaStreams stuff is actually a superset of WebAudio that can also handle video, so WebAudio was actually going to be implemented in Firefox at the time I said that stuff :laugh:

      Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion to bring snowy region, new updates also coming by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Capcom had a surprise waiting for Dragon's Dogma fans today in the Nintendo Direct presentation. The company revealed an expansion for the second installment with a name that should be familiar to series veterans. Coming later this year, Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is promising a massive new region to explore, new monsters, fresh skills to learn, and more. The studio says players will be heading to the Northern region of the world, named Norgan, to find new secrets about an undying "Fallen Dragon." There will be forgotten relics that the protagonist can find to unlock fresh weapons and skills the expansion is introducing. Players will also be able to find mysterious equipment from a previous Arisen as a part of the expansion, all part of 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges they must complete to gain access. In Neowin's own review, I found Dragon's Dogma 2 to be an impressive RPG when it launched back in 2024, giving the title an 8.5/10 for its class variants, companion system, and immersive exploration. "Once a prosperous region of the kingdom of Vermund, it was abandoned many years ago for reasons unknown," says Capcom about the new region. "Long has it been since any soul traveled its paths. Blanketed in heavy snow, these frigid lands are home to savage hordes and creatures of unbelievable power. Those who are capable of vanquishing such fearsome foes, or those who possess a keen eye for exploration, will find themselves rewarded with powerful relics." Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion launches on October 9, 2026, with a $29.99 price tag. Ahead of the expansion release, Capcom is also planning to release two free updates to the base game. The first will land tomorrow, June 10, bringing more accessible fast travel with an Eternal Ferrystone and other quality-of-life adjustments. The second update will land sometime in August, aiming to improve frame rates, add more save slots, and bring even more community-requested adjustments. This expanded Dark Arisen edition is also launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day the content comes to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

      Classic themes are just the colors on the bar like the olden days, if you use the image themes, it does fancy transparent backgrounds and it makes the elements of the app look like they are transparent bubbles. This sample image shows what it looks like.

      Good point, unfortunately. NextDNS has far more filters and workarounds than uBlock, and it's easy to implement.

Microsoft is rolling out KB5094127, with build numbers 19045.7417 and 19044.7417. Changelog includes the following: [File Explorer] This update improves File Explorer search, including support for Chinese text, and UTF 8–encoded files without a byte order mark (BOM). Text now displays more clearly and consistently across search results, Content view, and tooltips. [Secure Boot] This update enables dynamic status reporting for Secure Boot states in Windows Security App. This update adds a new policy setting, LimitSecureBootRequiredServiceData, under Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Secure Boot.       Then the solution is to not let children have easy access to smart phones or internet until they are older, not mass surveillance. Only this would require parents to do actual parenting, most likely, as with any good solution to the problem.
