Ultimate copy of chrome and sole reason of my in future to leave firefox...

If this uglification UI landed on Nightly very next moment I will uninstall Firefox and shift to other browser.

i guarantee, you'll stay with firefox. i tried to leave Firefox a month ago, extensions an Themes/Persona's are much better in Firefox than they are in Chrome. but i will say if i dont like this New InContent stuff i will def leave firefox. but all in all, the way the computer market is going its all Mobile or tablets or Touch Screens . the Desktop is Dying. just look at Virus8 an Gnome3 an Unity, there all made for those 3 devices. there is No Money in the Desktop no more. companies like Mozilla an Google an Microsoft will make there money from people buying either 1 of those 3 devices. lets not forget the Ipad. Apple will soon only get there money from that to an Mobile

Is it the same version of Australis that was designed a few years ago?

It rounded corner UI.. with several small elements like removal of menu button, bookmark star out of address bar, No search box etc.

No doubt about it that today people want to go more and more portable with less hassle of things to interact. Future is mobile no doubt about it.

Actually mozilla devs are now more focused and putting options through users throat these days. Change is good but not that change which is in present since several months.

I will definitely shift to other browser to support them even if I have to compromise on other stuff.

Personally , I don't find it a copy of Chrome.. Rather a better approach compared to it. Also when I tried on UX , searching tabs became so darn easy , really nice and intuitive design I would say , it just happens that it has curves and "connected" tabs to nav bar (concept since Firefox 3.7 I guess) and it somehow looks similar to Chrome (okay , who am I lying to , they just probably redid the chrome design to make it more human and less machine like).

Anyways , if it gives more performance than the actual theme , it is a big plus

Guys, I cannot launch Nightly in Metro mode. The weird thing is I can launch it on my mum's pc with a crappy resolution.

My pc is: Q6600, 3GB RAM, W8 PRO, 1680x1050, fresh install W8+Nightly.

When I launch it via Task Manager, it opens and closes again showing only the Nightly logo....

I don't know if it's just me, but everything is bigger in today's nightly. At first I thought I had the text zoomed and tried to reset with no success. Looks awful. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Edit: https://bugzilla.moz...g.cgi?id=851268 (Setting layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1 fixes the issue.)

Check out my Bug Report on this issue at 851268 ? Content and chrome changes size if Windows DPI is >96

After reading it if you agree with me then add your 2 cents to the report.

I will be leaving as well. Getting pretty fed up with Mozziline anyway. No one cares. Now we now what is in our update the next day.

Have you tried just using text zoom? If you're telling the OS to scale everything up by 150% then you're going to see raster images become blurry in any app.

I always used text zoom to increase the size of text while leaving the graphics alone. I use the addon NoSquint which let's you define a global default and a per site default. A few sites I use a combination of text zoom and full page zoom which is a great feature of NS.

This new feature in the Nightly acts is if you have your default for everything set to full page zoom at 125%. Sure I can use NoSquint to make content look the same as it always did but It can't control the chrome unless I use some CSS code.

Latest FF beta has really smooth scrolling using the mouse wheel, feels like 60fps gaming vs the last release of FF19 @ 15fps

I noticed this too with my laptop touchpad. Totally night and day difference in scrolling smoothness in fx 20 vs fx 19, 20 is sooo buttery smooth, right now it has the best smooth scrolling of any desktop browser IMO.

Definitely, I hope its not a one off.

Yeah Web Notification, Multithreaded Image decoding, Flash continuous to play even after tab close specific bug and some ECMA Intl API, Web Audio support landed and later ones continuous to land.

One Australis dependent bug also landed.

Firefox 23 is target to land Baseline Compiler to replace Jaeger Monkey.

I didn't read through the entire thread but I really enjoy using these nightly builds.

My problem is with the UI. Currently I'm using FF stable with the FT DeepDark theme. It seems as though they've replaced themes with persona's which doesn't change the UI. I dislike the light colored menus and tabs and prefer black.

Is there anything I can do to get a similar look on the nightly builds?

Regards

    • I switched to AdGuard for this very reason. All my uBlock filters and user scripts ported over with no issues.
    • This is a hot take, but I only use "New" Outlook for 1 reason, the "My Day" side bar that shows your tasks and Calendar on "New" Outlook allows you to view shared calendars and not just your personal calendar. On "Classic" Outlook it only allows your personal Calendar. For my job, we have a group shared Calendar that shows appointments and scheduled tasks for the team and we don't really use our personal calendars.
    • Opera for Android gets redesigned home page with FIFA World Cup tracker by Taras Buria FIFA World Cup 2026 is kicking off in the United States later this week, and Opera, a popular cross-platform browser, is making it easier to track matches on mobile. Today, Opera announced a redesigned home page for its Android browser. The new home page is now "more immersive" with easier access to common browser features. Users can now customize Speed Dial icons (round, square, or squircle), enjoy a new weather widget with real-time conditions, and open AI Mode or a private session with a single tap. Additionally, the browser now has a built-in football tracker, allowing you to follow your favorite team without using dedicated apps. The tracker displays live scores, notifications, and statistics in a dedicated football hub. You can also check out line-ups, match events, and more. Opera surveyed its users, and 38% of responders said they plan to follow the FIFA World Cup 2026 in a browser. The tournament starts on June 11 and ends on July 19, 2026. "By providing football fans with instant access to live scores alongside a more considered design, we’re ensuring they are never more than a tap away from the action, even when they can't watch live," said Tim Lesnik, Product Manager at Opera Mobile. For Opera users in the United States, Opera runs a contest, offering them a chance to win tickets to a match in Miami in July, Android smartphones, PlayStation 5 consoles, smart TVs, and Amazon Vouchers. Users can participate by posting on social media with the #OperaFandom hashtag from June 12 or by signing up on the official Opera website. Opera will announce winners on July 3. You can download Opera for Android from the Google Play Store using this link.
    • That definitely doesn’t match my experience with using Outlook. I use the new Outlook with a local account, connected to a email account, that absolutely isn’t connected to a Microsoft account without an issue.   I used Thunderbird/Firebird once, lost some very precious emails and memories, because of the way it stored emails. Swore I would never use it again, it technically wasn’t the fault of Thunderbird, but an extension but the underlying reason it failed was due to the message format.
