can't remember how i found it, but it was one of the most rounded boards i've ever seen....

2) And what kept you here as an active user of the site.

because there's always something to read, and reply to

and just curious, how much space does 10m posts take up? or is there too much other stuff involved to say?

Joined for clarifying a doubt regarding dual channel memory and stayed here because of the vibrant community. Here you are sure to get a response to your post in under 5 - 10 mins and so here I am helping others with what I know and getting help from others when I need. Neowin is the only tech forum I frequent.

Hi there ! Been an active member since August 2001, almost ten years already !

I remember vividly why I came her initially. Codename Whistler !

Even if I am out of the country I always visit Neowin for my tech related news.

It is also set as my homepage at home and at work !

Great community !

2001 REPRESENT! :D

Only the Admins i think are lower than my #698. :)

I think we should all send Rappy (and sniper) a beer lol. They probably did a good 2% of the 10M by themselves!

I am #645 :shifty:

I couldn't know about Neowin back in 2001 and I wouldn't have registered back then simply because... I didn't have any PC at home nor Internet before December 2003 :p

I joined Neowin because of Windows customization back in August 2004, that means I had internet since only 8 months, not bad.

I was quite a notable member in the years 2006-7 (around that, can't remember) in the Hardware Hangout. Specially helping members to build new PCs.

But then, I lost interest in hardware and computers in general. :(

Funny, Neowin is the only forum that I stuck to.

Hehe, lucky devil. I figured one would pop their head up as soon as I said that. I'm sure there's others, I remmeber someone being like 19x - maybe that was Tom Warren (creamhackered) but guess he's not on here much anyways (Tom is still cool in my book  )

Our 10yr anniversary is coming up also, can you imagine that! I started back in the days when "Watercolor" was the new hotness. Oh man, i'm starting to feel old now!

I joined back in 2003, I worked as part time tech support for a dialup provider in my area. I have found this site to be not only a wealth of information, but also active and have maintained a great page layout.

I joined on October 27, 2007... Wow almost four years ago. I watched the news and the forums regarding Windows Vista (Codenamed Longhorn) releases and builds.

I am still a member and supporter because it keeps me up to date with the current gadgets and news.

1) Tell us why you joined Neowin;

lets see, odds are i followed a story here from search or a news site i no longer use cuz I come here now, DANG its been 7 years lol

2) And what kept you here as an active user of the site.

to be honest, all the non tech news forum stuff, like show us your workstations, monthly desktops and the sorts

awwwww, that totally sucks that I lost my original account. I remember lurking on dal net in the beta days of very early xp (back when they were calling it windows eXPerience) and neowin was listed on there, and poof! been here ever since. I love the community, and I stay around due to the customization threads, the everyday news, and all the juicy beta information that gets released. haven't always posted, but have loved many a thread throughout the years. here's to another 10 glorious years!

Congrats!

Why:

Followed a link from at another site (Bink or MSFN) and liked what I saw.

What:

The tech news, the fast and furious forums (never dull), the firm but sensible moderation, and of course the fellow members!

I have been around for quite while and reading BudMan's posts, answers and how he is a network guru, I thought to join and be part of this great place. So somehow BudMan was the reason I guess and he was and still my idol. :D

2) And what kept you here as an active user of the site.

Friendly, helpful members and staff.

I'd been reading the articles for a while, this has always been my one-stop place for computing news, and I eventually decided to try and give something back by becoming a forum member

2) And what kept you as an active user of the site.

I've always felt welcome here (by both the staff, who've been friendly and polite in my encounters with them, and the members I've spoken to on the site and off the site as a result of finding them here) and always been happy with the support I've been given, I would like to use this point of this thread to thank every member who has ever posted a news article I have read or replied to one of my various support posts.

    • ASUS ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE keyboard is 27% off on Amazon by Ivan Jenic The ASUS ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE is currently $159.99 on Amazon, down from $219.99. That's 27% off and $60 saved on a keyboard that combines retro and modern design, while being one of the most responsive and adaptable 75% boards available right now (purchase link down below). The ROG Falchion Ace comes with the HFX V2X magnetic switches that allow you to set actuation anywhere between 0.1mm and 3.5mm with 0.01mm fine-tuning steps. It also comes with Rapid Trigger, a feature that resets the key the moment you release it rather than waiting for a fixed reset point, which makes a noticeable difference in fast-paced games. And finally, an 8,000Hz polling rate should make the response time feel instant. The build quality is decent, with dense plastic and powder-coated aluminum, which is expected from a keyboard at this price point. There’s also the onboard adjustment wheel, which lets you tweak actuation and Rapid Trigger sensitivity without opening any software. For competitive gaming, the ROG Falchion Ace is hard to beat at this price. And those who appreciate old-school hardware, especially those white keyboards we’ve all grown up with, will likely also appreciate the looks of this keyboard. A carry case is included.
