I am undecided as to which one to get of these two models, which are currently on sale at the local BestBuy. I need your wise assistance!!!!

Samsung Q10

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+...&skuId=2022343

Samsung H300

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+...H300&cp=1&lp=1

Official Manufacturer Website for Both Products

Your help will be most appreciated

** Correct me if I am wrong but from what I can see the only difference between the two models is the Zoom lens.

Interesting conversation I had with a Samsung Rep Just Now About These Two Cameras:

Please wait for a Samsung Agent to respond.

Raven: Hi, thanks for reaching out to Samsung tech support. How can I help you today?

John: Hello Raven. I got a quick question for you regarding the Samsung HMX-H300 and the Samsung HMX-Q10

Raven: Hello John.

Raven: Sure, please go ahead.

John: Is it true that the Samsung HMX-Q10 has better video quality than the HMX-H300?

John: I noticed the effective pixels on the H300 is 1.75 and on the Q10 is 2.07, yet the H300 is $100.00 more than the Q10

Raven: No, HMX-H300 has the better video quality than HMX-Q10.

John: So why does the H300 have less pixels than the Q10? Wouldn't less pixels mean less quality?

Raven: No, more pixels would give you better picture quality.

Raven: But the lens used in both of them are different.

Raven: In HMX-H300, Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan HD lens is used.

Raven: Where as in HMX-Q10 a normal lens is used.

Raven: Hence, HMX-H300 has better video quality than HMX-Q10.

John: I am looking at the Q10 right now and it says on the front of it: Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan HD. So is that a less quality lens than the one on the H300?

John: here's where I am seeing that at:

John: http://ces.crunchgear.com/2011/01/samsung-busts-out-new-full-hd-hmx-q10-camcorder-2/

Raven: Okay. Please allow me to check with it.

John: OK. Thank you

Raven: Thanks.

Raven: Thanks for waiting.

Raven: I am sorry to inform you that Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan HD lens is available in HMX-H300.

Raven: Let me provide you with a link which gives you the complete information about it.

John: OK cool.

Raven: http://www.samsung.com/us/system/consumer/product/hm/xh/30/hmxh300bnxaa/HW300_spec.jpg

Raven: I am sorry for the typo.

Raven: The correct link is as follows.

Raven: http://www.samsung.com/us/photography/camcorders/HMX-H300BN/XAA-features

Raven: Are you able to open the link?

John: Yes

Raven: Thanks for confirmation.

Raven: Please refer the link to get the correct information.

John: So the Varioplan lens on the Q10 is just a standard lens? is that what U are indicating?

Raven: Yes, you are correct. The lens on HMX-Q10 is a standard lens.

Raven: Let me also provide you with a link which gives you the complete information about it.

John: ok

Raven: The link is as follows.

John: yes thank you

John: No. Thank you. You were very helpful.

John: Have a good day!

Raven: You're Welcome. You too.

Raven: Thank you for chatting with us.

OK here's some samples videos I took about 30 mins ago. I uploaded them to my Dropbox. They are on their original MP4 form. 720p - 60fps. Camera set on Smart Auto. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

Which one did you buy?

I went for the H300.

Here's a low light sample I just took. I am amazed at the quality. That is exactly how I saw things so the camera is correct. Check it out. It is on 720p, 60fps.

    • I disagree here sorry. The majority of their customers are corporations who are locked in to their eco system and have no choice. Private individuals don't contribute that much to their income.

    • When will the Photos app be updated to remember the window size and position when reopened? They addressed this issue in a 2024 version of the app (though I can't recall the build number). Unfortunately, after that specific version, the problem persists! Please prioritise this fix in your K2 schedule. Additionally, the Snipping Tool has lost the ability to capture the Windows Taskbar starting from the 2024 version!
    • Same, never saw it on Android or iOS. Guess only some people got it *shrugs*
