Dane
So I am curious. When I out my D3100 in my camera bag it goes lens down. The camera is "resting" on the lens. I took notice though to a mark on the inside of the bag on the bottom where the lens touches the fabric/foam. Is this a good idea? I tried to rig it so the foam flaps catch the body and hold it off the bottom but it doesnt work. Im kind of nervous about this. It's connected to the 18-55. my bag is the adventura 170. crazzy88ss
should be ok? Quick google image search showed pretty much everybody doing the same, as that's how it appears the bag is designed. I'm not a small-bag expert, though :(
HawkMan
As long as the lens cover is on, it should be ok.

crazzy88ss
should be fine then! They're pretty durable.
spikey_richie
It's probably safer than removing the camera from the bag via the lens if it's the other way round. My body rests on a chunk of foam on the right-hand side of my bag so the weight is not all on the lens.
