Chuwi to launch 14.1-inch Windows 10 'LapBook' with Intel Apollo Lake CPU, for under $300

Chuwi's newest Windows 10 device is a notebook that will ship later this month with the Anniversary Update onboard, with a 14.1-inch Full HD IPS LCD, 4GB RAM, and one of Intel's new Apollo Lake CPUs.

Chinese manufacturer Chuwi has released numerous Windows 10 devices over the last 18 months, including the Vi8 Plus mini-tablet, the Hi12 slate, and the HiBook 2-in-1. The company is now preparing to launch another addition to its range, offering a similar mix of affordability and ample specs for casual users.

The new device is the LapBook 14.1, a notebook featuring a 14.1-inch Full HD (1920x1080px) IPS LCD with 8mm bezels. Other key features include:

  • Intel's new Apollo Lake N3450 CPU with HD 500 (Gen 9) graphics
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB storage (eMMC)
  • 2.4GHz/5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi
  • 2 x USB Type-A ports
  • 9mm-thick at its thinnest point, rising to 20mm
  • 1.3kg
  • 9000mAH LiPo battery

The device will ship with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update pre-installed. Chuwi told Neowin that the LapBook 14.1 will be released before the end of this month, and should be priced under $300.
