LG sends out media invite for upcoming handset at Mobile World Congress

LG has now sent out invitations to its Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. It is expected that the G6 will make its debut and will possibly go on sale a few weeks later.

LG has sent out media invites for an upcoming event at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The handset manufacturer is expected to announce its latest handset, the G6.

For the past few weeks, LG hasn't been shy in building anticipation for its upcoming handset, offering the world hints about what's to come. While the device has not been leaked yet, you can expect the company to ditch its modular design and also offer a unique 5.7-inch QHD+ display. The screen will offer a 18:9 aspect ratio and also feature benefits like better visibility under sunlight and a slightly higher pixel count. If its recently announced "wish list" is any indication, the handset could also offer a more compact design, waterproofing, and come with an extended accidental warranty similar to HTC's.

Naturally, a sale date hasn't been revealed yet, but sources state that LG is looking to beat Samsung to market and will offer the G6 in South Korea sometime in early March. The firm will hold its MWC event on February 26.
