Microsoft has released the first cumulative update for Windows 10

Microsoft has released the first cumulative update for Windows 10 and the company says that this update brings non-security improvements to the OS to enhance the functionality. In addition, this update contains all the previously released fixes but if you already have them installed, it will only download the new bits.

Microsoft's KB page, where it explains what this update includes, has a brief description of what is being changed with this release; you can find the entire list of updates here. The size of the update is 325MB.

This update includes non-security-related changes to enhance the functionality of Windows 10 through new features and improvements.Windows 10 updates are cumulative. Therefore, this package contains all previously-released fixes (see KB 3074683). If you have installed previous updates, only the new fixes that are contained in this package will be downloaded and installed to your computer."

Seeing that Microsoft is moving to a service model for the OS, this type of update should be somewhat frequent as they will more proactively update the core OS instead of releasing major service upgrades every few years.

You can download the update now and while we did not have any issues installing the bits, let us know if you encounter any problems with the installation.
