Microsoft is pushing an update out for Windows 10 to prep for FBL_Awesome

Microsoft has said today that it is pushing out another update for Windows 10 that will prepare your build for the next release of the OS, which will arrive in late January.

The head of Microsoft's Windows Insider program has announced that the company is preparing to release another update for Windows 10 build 9879, which will lay the foundations for the next build that is coming next month.

As we broke the news earlier this week, FBL_Awesome is the build that Microsoft will release in January at its Windows 10 event. The update that is going out today is to make sure that your update will go smoothly when the new build is released.

For those of you who are curious what FBL_Awesome will include, you can check out build 9901 here, as that's the best look we have of the new OS so far. It is also worth noting that if you installed 9901, you will not be able to upgrade that build to FBL_Awesome when it is released.

Neowin will be attending the event at the end of January, which is roughly 5 weeks away, at which Microsoft will be talking about the consumer features that are coming with Windows 10.
